Great experience for me with Groome transportation. I thought the website said only March thru October for Flagstaff. I'm happy I called anyway because I was able to book and it's Nov 23 ! So call anyway cuz we all know the internet is not always accurate and I prob miss read as well. Their office is great w a couch, couple chairs, restrooms, outlet to charge phone. Get there early cuz Ubers can be quick or delay in Flagstaff winters due to rain and snow. I got a comfortable ride to Camp Verde, an hour away. I wish they went into Prescott but we can't always get what we want in life! I'm blessed that my Prescott friend is picking me up in CV. I've also taken Groome in the middle of nowhere Montana. This is a great comfortable transportation company that gets you there in any weather, rain and snow. My drivers have always been pleasant. The office guy in Flagstaff is an absolute love. I missed my first shuttle and had to call about 6 times with questions and changes and he was above and beyond courteous and helpful to me. Always be sweet in life cuz you catch more with honey than being spicy! For an extra charge, Groome can pick you up around Flagstaff, if you don't want to chance it with Uber! Wow. This was not a good customer service experience. I called and very politely and calmly asked Liz if I could speak with her supervisor regarding what she said was a credit-only policy rather than a refund policy. My trip is still more than five weeks away, and plans changed because a friend offered to personally drive my teenager to the airport instead of having him take a shuttle at 2:00 a.m (which makes me extremely nervous as mom). Liz refused to provide her supervisor's contact information and would not allow me to speak with a manager. I asked a few times (again, very politely and calmly) and then she told me she would be ending the call instead of letting me speak with her boss. That was disappointing and left me feeling like there was no way to escalate an extremely reasonable request. I am not changing his trip to Flagstaff. Only the one from Flagstaff to the airport because of it being at 2:00 am. After reading several other reviews, I'm also concerned about reports of last-minute cancellations. The combination of those reviews and my customer service experience does not inspire confidence. Extremely frustrating to be denied any opportunity to speak with someone who would actually review the reservation and have authority to make something other than a black and white response without even trying to understand. read more

We took Groome to the Grand Canyon and back. Would probably give them a 3.5 if that was available. Major pros are that the drivers are safe, and they definitely get you to where you want to go. The staff I interacted with on the phone were all very helpful. There were some stark differences across drivers but overall in the neutral-to-excellent range. I didn't have cash on the way back and couldn't quite figure out how to tip the driver. Note they don't really stop for folks to get out to and from GC without a direct request which we were unaware of. Also, the confirmation emails sometimes give incorrect pickup times so be sure to confirm ahead of time. The staff member I called after the shuttle hadn't come mentioned they had tried to call, but I was on a plane and didn't receive the voicemail till later. Seats were just shy of comfortable but fine. Overall, a convenient way to get to Grand Canyon National Park. read more

Groome Transportation has been such a great service to have for those of us who have to fly in to get to see the Grand Canyon. We used Groome to get to and from GCNP, and then from Flagstaff to Phoenix to catch a flight home. The vans are roomy, the seats are comfy, each seat has a seatbelt and headrest. We took Lyft to Groome Headquarters each time we needed it in Flagstaff (best bet to make sure you get on your way in time). At GCNP they meet you just outside the Maswik Lodge. Would definitely use this service again. Pro tip: bring headphones for the long drives, a van full of people has a tendency to be a bit noisy (not just speaking, but other things that may rattle your nerves, lol)! read more

Try anything else. My appointment for travel to the airport came and went with no email, call or information from Groome on delays or cancellations. After calling their office, she put me on speaker as she called people to try to get them to work. "Sorry, no one wants to work today" was the reason that my shuttle would not be coming. I had to get a $300 uber in order to make my flight on time. I am still in disbelief that a company like this still operates when they seem to be run so unprofessionally. I absolutely Love Groome Transportation! The vans are all very nice & comfortable. The drivers I have met are all nice & accommodating. It is a great service to have available to get from the Verde Valley (Arizona) area to north Phoenix & or to the Phoenix airport. And to also get a ride from north Phoenix or the airport back to Flagstaff, Prescott & the Verde Valley areas. Groome charged me $66 00 on my credit card for a one way trip when I needed round trip service. I said please cancel as I cannot wait 3.5 hours at the airport for a ride. The agent ran my credit card before telling me that my wait would be 3.5 hours and I would miss an important meeting. They refused to refund the one way portion of the trip I am a Senior and money is tight. The agent should not have charged me for one way when I was clear that I needed round trip. I have referred others to Groome. Do not give your credit card # until you have what you need. Do not let them keep your credit card on file. They so far have refused to refund the error charged. read more

Booked this transportation 3 months in advance to go from Grand Canyon to Flagstaff and received several confirmations for our trip up until the day before our reservation. We got a call from the office Manager at 5:30 the evening before our 6am ride and she said she had to cancel our reservation. She told us we were being cancelled and that she didn't have room for us, we would have been stranded. She screamed that there was nothing she could do. Then she hung up the phone and hung up again. We tried to call back 6 times and she kept hanging up. Terrible customer service! Eventually after many attempts to contact them, they did pick us up and the driver Pat was very pleasant thank goodness. Can't really rate the experience of the actual ride down to Phx because my guests/best friends we're not even able to ride the shuttle. We scheduled them a shuttle ride from FLG to PHX early enough for them to arrive at Sky Harbor for their flight. We called to schedule the shuttle and gave the reservation specialist their flight information and she even told us what terminal they needed to arrive at. It was confirmed several times that they had a flight departure at 2:50pm. We will get back to this in a bit. We arrived at the Amtrak station 15 minutes before departure and when the driver, Larry, arrived (late)-- he was completely rude and aggressive to all passengers. He was clearly in a bad mood and made one of the passengers come back out to place her bag in the back because it was too heavy. She was in heels.We offered to help but he said she needed to do it. Super rude. We then waited for the driver to call off our friends names and he blatantly ignored them-- even though they were standing right in front of Larry. When everyone else was on the shuttle, he turned to them and said, "I have some bad news to break to you, you cannot ride with us". We were completely confused. He then said "I don't know why the higher ups expect me to explain everything but apparently we need to accommodate another guest who schedule for Dec. 31st, 2023". Doesn't seem like that's anyone's problem but their own-- but whatever. He was basically useless and said "well we're already super late and we need to get the shuttle on the road and pick up the other passengers"-- the ones who made the mistake". I literally could not believe that they accommodated another guest who put in the wrong date when we literally scheduled the shuttle. Things got worse when we called the flagstaff office to figure out what to do. The employee who was working at the time lied and said that they had called and left a message but none of us received any voicemail or missed call. That was the first lie. The only option she gave then was to take the 11am shuttle but that would not get them down to PHX in time for their flight. They said that the reservation did not say they had a flight-- what... we literally gave the reservation specialist the flight details and they told them what terminal to go to. She said the only thing she could do, per the manager, was to refund the shuttle or put them on the 11am shuttle. Ok cool, let me just call the airline and ask them to wait for them. Unbelievable. Basically, we were out of luck. Groome, this is completely unacceptable. You should not have allowed us to schedule this shuttle if you did not have the room and I literally cannot believe you chose to take the other passengers who scheduled a shuttle on the wrong date. I will absolutely make sure none of my friends or family use this service ever again. We have been long time customers (since it was Arizona shuttle) and I've always highly recommended your service. WORTHLESS! We arrived at Flagstaff Airport at 4:40 for transport as part of an Amtrak tour - NO transport. Period. We called and were told no service after 4:00 p.m. Guy at the rental car counter said that was common, people were stranded because Groome had no drivers. Our taxi driver, and the people at the hotel told us the same thing. Find a company more reliable. read more

TLDR; affordable, clean and efficient . Mr.Ed is the best driver and I hope you get to meet him! I utilized groom transportation during my trip to the Grand Canyon. I stayed in the La Quinta hotel which was 6 minute walking distance from the Groome's pick up location. The hotel was also across the street from a Walmart which was extremely convenient! The ride was about 2 hours to the Grand Canyon and dropped us off at the Maswik Lodge. There were a few additional stops in downtown Flagstaff and Williams, but these stops are contingent on who books the shuttle. Park admission is included in your transportation fare. I wanted to give a special shout-out to our driver, Mr.Ed. He was amazing, genuinely one of the most kind individuals that I have ever met! The conversation was great and he knew so much about history of the area. He reminded me so much of my own father and gave a bunch of helpful tips to stay safe and have fun! - I saw that FLG was recently evacuated due to forest fires and I hope that everyone at Groome is doing alright Thank you for a wonderful experience! read more

This was the first time I used to Groome transportation from Phoenix to Sefona It was difficult to find their set up which was a white folding table in front of vending machines in Termibal 4 -Email confirmation was not specific about their location There were no signs . I was really tired Having traveled for 12 hours internationally and had been walking around for over a half hour trying to figure out where to go I called the number in the email and finally located the folding table. Mike Doherty one of the representative says he was really tired too and that he had been working 17 hours and it's not his fault that I had a long day of travel - No apology for the inconvenience - for no sign - no respect, no awareness of the fact that I'm the customer( tired like many travelers ) with a reservation Hey Mike ! Wow, what a really unorganized shuttle! I originally booked a shuttle from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Flagstaff for 12:30 am. The night before my shuttle, they called to change my 12:30 am to 6 am, then called again and changed it back to 12:45 am. The morning of my shuttle, I received another call to move it again to 12:15 am and explained I would have to change shuttles in Camp Verde. However, nobody actually booked me a shuttle from Camp Verde to Flagstaff. Luckily, they were able to send someone down to grab me last minute, but he was very annoyed with me because he had just clocked out and blamed me for getting on the 12:15 am shuttle in Phx, which was literally what I was told to do by Cameron. Groome Transportation and Cameron really dropped the ball and I was hoping my 2.5 hour shuttle wouldn't have been the worst part of my 30 hour travel day- especially being blamed by the second driver and making it feel like my fault and how he had already clocked out. Super unprofessional and I don't recommend this shuttle to anyone who wants a smooth and pleasant drive. read more

Avoid Groome. My NAU college son was left stranded at the Phoenix airport because they said they couldn't fit his skis. He indicated on his online reservation and by phone that he would have skis (in ski bag) as he was told to do by the manager named Mary Katherine at the Flagstaff office. This happened twice (first from Flagstaff to Phoenix and then again from Phoenix back to Flagstaff). I have a screen shot of the reservation indicating that he said he would have skis. However, they left him (while allowing his friends with skis to board) and kept making him wait for the next shuttle which they too kept rejecting him (saying they didn't have room). When we called the Flagstaff reservation office, the lady was very rude and self-important saying we didn't indicate on our reservations about the skis (I did and even confirmed with manager Mary Katherine). Despite this, the rude reservation lady hung up on my son and then on me when I told her I had a screen shot of the reservation. Very poor customer service and too many mistakes. You're better off not wasting your time or money. I'm not a fan a Greyhound, but at least they are not as inadequate and rude and they own up to their mistakes. read more

My flight in to Phoenix was delayed, so I had to run to make the shuttle to Sedona. There's no sign and the representative goes home at 10 pm, so I had to ask a few people to find it (as of March, 2019, no one at the airport knows Groome Transportation; I had to ask for Arizona Shuttle). I was a few minutes late, but delighted to see that the shuttle was still there. However, that didn't matter. Even though I had a reservation, they had given away my seat. I tried arguing, but the driver insisted that since I hadn't been there at the scheduled moment, I forfeited my seat to someone without a reservation. (Bear in mind: this was the 10:45 pm shuttle, and I was coming from the east coast, so I felt like it was 1:45 am). I called the customer service line; the first two times, I was on hold for 15 minutes before it hung up on me. The third time, I was on hold for 6 minutes before getting a representative, who said she booked me on the 12:15 am. When the 12:15 shuttle arrived, they had no record of my reservation. Fortunately, there was space (and they don't care about reservations anyway!), so I was able to get a seat to Sedona. To be fair, my ride from Sedona to Phoenix was fine, but because of the infrequency of the shuttle, I had to arrive 3.5 hours before my flight. Perhaps Groome will find their way, but not honoring reservations and not picking up the phone for stranded passengers in the middle of the night left me pretty frustrated. read more

Better arrive 15 minutes early because as soon as that bus arrives, they turn around and leave. Doesn't matter if you have an emergency, or just arrive 10 seconds late. I had a previous shuttle pick me up 45 minutes late, but they have left me 2 minutes before my actual pick up time. Ridiculous. I understand that people have places to be, but Groome won't attempt to contact you if you are not at the pickup location, even though you list your contact information when you make a reservation. This business is full of nothing but angry employees, drivers that aren't afraid to abandon you, and cramped vans. If you have another option, use it. read more

I was trying to save some money by flying out of Phoenix, but next time I'll spend more to fly out of Flagstaff. My pick-up coming and going was on time and the drivers were friendly. BUT, I was dropped off at the wrong gate at the Phoenix Airport and almost missed my flight because of it. Coming home our van was rear-ended (not our driver's fault) and we had to cool our heels in a gas station parking lot while they sent us a new van. This wasn't such a big deal, but we were late getting back to Flag. Also, I kind of thought someone from the company would get in touch because of the crash. Check on me? Had a reservation on the 12:30am shuttle from Phoenix back to flagstaff. My flight kept getting delayed, and eventually I called Groome to update them and see if they thought I should change my shuttle time. The first man I spoke with was very pleasant, and told me to call when I landed and they would do everything they could to get me on that shuttle. When I finally landed at 12:10 I called, and a new gentleman answered, told me there was no way I was making the shuttle and took me off the list and rescheduled me for the 6am, which meant sleeping on the floor of the airport and being late to work. I was disappointed at how he spoke with me. Much to my surprise when I got my checked bag, I noticed the shuttle was still sitting outside. I walked over and the lady let me on, but then had to spend 15 minutes on the phone to get my reservation switched back. I made it back to flagstaff at 4am and went to bed, just to be woken up at 6am by the shuttle calling wondering where I was. The following night at 12:55 I received another call from the shuttle wondering where I was when I had taken the shuttle 24 hours prior. When I called I was told the next shuttle they could get me on was on 3 hours as they made no provisions foe delayed flights as other shuttle services do. Groome transportation moved into our state and sliced their prices in half until they forced the now former airport shuttle from Morris and Alexandria, MN out of business. Immediately afterwards they raised their prices again to the former levels and cut service to Morris, MN forcing our senior citizens and UMM students to find alternative modes of transportation. We began to seek out viable alternatives for connecting to our international flights. For almost the same price as parking and riding the Groome (rhymes with "doom") shuttle from St Cloud, we got a free night of lodging, free breakfast, easy accessibility, and excellent shuttle service to the airport. I was a passenger on the Groomer Shuttle from Flagstaff to Phoenix on Oct. 31. The shuttle driver picked us up 20 minutes early and then made us wait at the flagstaff parking lot for 20 minutes. We drove around in circles for another half hour because he had forgotten to pick up 2 passengers. En route to Phoenix, the driver continually chatted with a passenger seated in the front seat next to him, continually gesturing with his hands and not keeping them on the wheel. He was almost in 3 collisions. He missed an exit in Phoenix. I felt really unsafe the entire ride. read more

I will go elsewhere in the future for Flagstaff-- Phoenix service or rent a car.. When I called to at least inform them that the app automatically gave us an inappropriate time estimate the stoner sounding girl on the phone was completely unapologetic and rude even though I was just suggesting that she inform someone of what happened. I have reached out twice regarding challenges faced due to Groome Transportation, Once July 3rd and again on July 15th and received no response from their representatives. Below is the communication I sent to the company: To whom it may concern, I wanted to reach out in regards to the experience I had with the transportation services offered by your company. When reserving, I was not given an option of shuttle times and was automatically reserved on the 12:15 shuttle departing from Phoenix International Airport. My flight, scheduled to arrive at 10:30am, arrived early at 10am. As I was unaware of the other shuttle times, I waited in the airport until 11:45, to ensure I did not miss the shuttle. As I was not provided a pickup location, I was waiting under the Prearranged Transportation sign. At 12:30pm, I reached out to the contact number provided on my confirmation and was informed that the shuttle departed 11 minutes prior. At no point did anyone attempt to contact me, though my contact information was provided. I have attached the email confirmation I received, the information provided via the automated texting service this morning, along with the information when I look up my reservation on your website. As you can see, there is no information regarding pickup location, which caused in me to miss my shuttle and ultimately resulted in being stranded at the airport for 4 hours. Your company came highly recommended and my expectations were higher. I hope that you can empathize with my frustrations and take action to remedy the situation.
