Great information with great service, excellent general store with fair pricing, excellent customer service.

Free to check out right in the beginning of historic downtown. Lots of local maps and walking tour guides. Two large rooms of gifts and souvenirs... with of course fun route 66 gear. The ladies working were very friendly and helpful. I love the visitors center! It's always my first stop to check out fun Route 66 souvenirs and maps. It's a great place to learn about the towns history. I grew up in a train town, so I find the sounds of the constant trains passing through to be relaxing. From the visitor's center it's a quick walk into town or to a nearby yummy eatery. We walked to Beaver Street Brewery for lunch and then their sister spot across the street at Lumberyard Brewing. Love the flagstaff visitor center! It's so cute & they have tons of info & suggestions on where to go & what to eat. They also have a train inside that you can see, it goes around the ceiling around the shop.

The visitor center is adjacent to the Amtrak train depot. This is the actual train depot to jump on or off. Lots of souvenirs, a lot of information and maps. I really enjoyed all the employees that I encountered, although sitting behind plexiglass made it difficult to hear. I wish they would've been more engaging and told me information about the walk to talk tour. I did it on my own but I didn't know that there was an audio that went with it. That to me would've been important enough to share! I think the depot was established in 1890's, I'm not sure of the exact year. I WOULD recommend.

Plenty of information for surrounding area activities & things to do in Flagstaff. Plus souvenirs! An array of shirts, magnets, mugs, kids stuff & more. John picked up a Grand Canyon T-shirt. We went in for the brewery trail passport- only available at one of the two visitor centers. John's determined to get a free pint glass.

If you are going some place new for a while it is a good idea to stop by the visitor center....yes it may seem old fashion when you have a lot of information available but with locals who work there they can give you a good run down on the area. Ask questions....get answers....sometimes get information you didn't think about. Did you know that all the astronauts who walked on the moon did training in and around Flagstaff? Either did I, but they did some training at the crater for the rover and other geological training....see, why would I think about that but there it was and when I asked about the snowfall in the city I was told that it did, but the snowplows clear the roads pretty quick so you don't need chains for the most part. Friendly locals, good suggestions on places to visit, some local swag to buy....good stuff.

The Historic Down district of Flagstaff is certainly a hub for capturing all the magnificence of this cute little town. After arriving into Flagstaff and finding a great restaurant, Kokiyo for lunch, we enjoyed a nice stroll through the town. So many historic places including the railroad station, the historic buildings and of course Route 66.

Each stuffy was adorable and a good price.

This Amtrak train station/ visitor center is very cute. The gift shop has some wonderful items and the prices were good. There were so many native stuffed animals, and the Best was the javelina. Many brochures, maps and tips to tour, hike, bike or browse such as the historic part of town. Two women were present to answer questions or make suggestions on restaurants or adventures. It's a handy place to stop with free 15 minute parking in their lot. I found d clean restrooms as well.

Right in the middle of town it also houses the Amtrak station. Lots of info and local facts it has a train that runs around a track under the ceiling nice touch. Clean bathrooms. Stop in and get info

The main attraction really is the mansion so just buy a $18 pass which gives you access to the mansion tour as well as the outside grounds (which is what the $5 pass gives you access to). Our tour guide, Marco, was fantastic and great at answering questions for our little group of 4. The mansion really is just a showcase of how a wealthy person's home from the early 1900's. You get a glimpse into their business and personal lives as well as the type of furniture employed in the household. The tour was interactive and nice. The self guided tour is just literally walking around the mansion so there isn't too much to see but it makes for a nice, short walk. Overall, I think that there are more interesting museums out there. But if you're looking for a super quiet museum to browse, this would be the place.

There is a visitor center and two trails here. The Rim trail at a pretty even 0.75 miles is great for people who want a stroll that follows the canyon rim (out and back trail). You can see the structures from the rim, but it's even better with binoculars. The Island trail is slightly longer at 1 mi, but a steeper 185 vertical feet into the canyon with a whole bunch of stairs at the beginning, and returns the same way. I guess people get too tired to climb back up since there are numerous signs warning of the steep climb back. The trail begins at the back door exit of the visitor center, which they close at 4 pm (the entire monument closes at 5 pm, so they don't want anyone to start the trail and get locked in). Both trails were great and they had informational signs along the way. I really liked the Island trail since you get up close and personal with the structures. The visitor center was standard - offering a gift shop, bathrooms outside, and information about the history and significance of the area. The ranger staffing the information desk was pretty patient with the group of tourists and determining if they were fit to do the Island trail. It's a totally different vibe from the Grand Canyon, so don't expect huge views.
