The lack of communication from T.S.A, the overpriotization of tsa pre customers, and their general lethargic attitude was beyond infuriating. For a regional airport, I was very surprised that it took as long as it did to get through. This was partly due to them, again not even communicating with each other. The first officer would give one set of instructions, and then a separate order would be given by the next greatly increasing the time taken to clear. You've been warned

Of every airport that I have used the Duluth International Airport is definitely my favorite for…read moreease of use, beautiful facilities and a friendly and helpful staff. In a time when air travel can be a huge pain and it seems that so many other airports have forgotten the customer experience the Duluth International Airport is taking a different approach. From the time you arrive at Duluth International Airport you are greeted with ample parking including covered parking in the parking ramp. There is also a covered Skywalk from the parking ramp to the beautiful James L. Oberstar terminal building. Inside, the terminal is bright and open with a whole wall of windows allowing sunlight. The lines at check-in always are quick and easy for dropping off any checked baggage and the staff is friendly. Then, it's time to go upstairs to the security checkpoint which may be the fastest security line I have ever used in an airport. In the gate area there is comfortable seating prior to boarding as well as charging stations for your electronics. There is also the new Club DLH available for a charge for those who need to do some work or some quiet relaxation prior to your flight. Sometimes it is a little more expensive to fly into Duluth as opposed to MSP, but if you can make it work, it's always worth it. Here's hoping the cost differential of the drive down 35 continues to get closer so that more people can take advantage of all that Duluth International Airport has to offer!

The room was clean, comfortable and updated with a view out the back. We stayed in the connected rooms so it was like a motel but they also had separate cottages behind that to stay in. The family that runs it must live near one end where you can see piles of stuff all over. I admit that looked really bad so i was afraid of what the room would be like and my wife and I enjoyed our stay there. We would book another room there, no problem. It was also affordable. Enjoy the photos.

The inn has incredible character with ornate hall carpets, stained glass, and high ceilings. Check in took only a few minutes and he explained different services available during our stay. Our room overlooked the lake, a really pretty view. It was a deluxe room and had nice space for two people, with a king bed, desk with chair, two upholstered chairs, and a mini fridge concealed in the entertainment center. The bathroom wasn't as tiny as many hotels, and seemed as if it had been renovated in the past few years. The hotel included small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, as there were no installed pumps on the walls. In the morning, the nearby board room had coffee available (tasty stuff, according to my husband) plus apples, bananas, and an assortment of granola bars and similar bars. There were also some board games available for guests. Our first night there, on a Thursday, was incredibly quiet. No road noise, no noises within the hotel. Even the AC was quiet. Our experience Friday and Saturday wasn't as pleasant because we had very loud people on one side who were talking and laughing past 11pm and also had dogs that yapped at random intervals. So, just an unfortunate draw as to who our neighbors were. That was the only negative, though. We loved how many things were walkable from our room. We went in most all the nearby shops and bought a number of things, too. People should know that the parking garage is on the other side of the complex; valet parking is also available but we didn't utilize it.

In our room we noticed wallpaper peeling off the walls, holes in the window screen, cracked and peeling paint on the ceiling, a sagging mattress, and just a general sense that the place was not getting a lot of love. It was sad to see this great hotel in such a state of disrepair. I truly hope they can turn it around.

So I had to await their opening, which wasn't gonna be for several more hours. I had to drive to MSP to catch a flight. So I proceeded to DLH to explain and see options. They were a bunch of help. They were able to conduct the mod' at no additional charge. That made this possible. Surprising to me that the dropoff location was able to do what the main personnel couldn't. This was all due to weather. Feared I wouldn't get out of DLH that day. Proceeded to MSP and went about my business. Thank you!

The rooms still need a little work when it comes to the sofa beds. I really appreciate that there's a floor dedicated to my dog friends; I don't have one myself, but they're my friends anyway. Just one comment about the bathroom sink: the drain was completely clogged--as if it hadn't been cleared for months--and it was disgusting. Luckily, Kelly was kind enough to take care of the situation right away. See you next year.

All of the common areas, including the two tiny guest elevators were consistently full of dogs. The hallways, the deck with the fire pits, sports court and game area, the parking lot, the lawn- all full of dogs. Perhaps great for dog owners, not so great for those of us with allergies or if you just don't stay at hotels to share space with dogs. Two- Our supposed "non-pet friendly" room was shoddy (see photos) with dirty carpet, a huge water damage stain on the ceiling and an accompaniment of fleas. You cannot allow pets throughout the property and expect to keep fleas and ticks contained in certain rooms. There was a tiny walk-in shower (photos) with only one glass panel. I understand that some large walk-in showers do not have door(s). But this one is far too small for that. No door to close on this just meant lots of water on the bathroom floor. Three- the staff was rude. Enough has been said here in other reviews about the bad behavior of the staff, so I feel no need to add another nasty story. Four- Silo, the on site restaurant was booked solid with groups that were not even staying at the hotel. The restaurant staff would not seat us, because the tables were all reserved. We were also told that this meant no in-room service. We and the other guests of the hotel waiting in line were told that we would have to go elsewhere or call some establishment that will deliver. I would only recommend this place to people who lie down with dogs. It's Motel 6 with a view.
