He stopped so that I could grab some food for the trip to Duluth; I loved leaving the driving in the capable hands of Courtney of Roadtrip Limo. I plan on using this company on my next trip to the northlands.

Says it can fit 7 (depending on size and weight), but I'd rather not share with more than one other couple. Neither of us had ever been in a sea plane before...pretty cool how easy it took off and how smooth the landing was despite a little chop on the bay. Next time I think we would bring a picnic and games for the park, maybe a suit for the beach. Seemed like the best beach in the area with respect to the sand, view and secluded nature.

The take-off and landing was super smooth and the plane was comfortable for me, my wife, 9 yr old and 3 yr old. The trip lasted for almost 45 mins and John took us through many area of Duluth and Superior. He shared details about every area, rich history and how it is today. The best part we liked about him is his liver to serve the customer. He was always looking to find an opportunity that will make the tour more memorable. He saw that a ship was going to the bridge and he timed it properly to ensure we can see and take as many pictures of the ship crossing the bridge from true 360.

We sadly zipped through the whole thing as my niece and nephew were shivering in their little wagon underneath three different blankets. Fortunately due to this it was super short wait times to see Santa, get popcorn, hot cocoa + cookies, and there was no one roasting marshmallows! Haha but the chill air from the water made it a bit unbearable and I think we called it quits after about 15 minutes. Loads of photo opportunities and I'm sure we'll enjoy it more next year. We'll be back!

The room was clean, comfortable and updated with a view out the back. We stayed in the connected rooms so it was like a motel but they also had separate cottages behind that to stay in. The family that runs it must live near one end where you can see piles of stuff all over. I admit that looked really bad so i was afraid of what the room would be like and my wife and I enjoyed our stay there. We would book another room there, no problem. It was also affordable. Enjoy the photos.

We hired MidCoast Catering for our wedding this summer and we used the Rambler food truck and two…read morebartenders from them. The food truck was a HUGE hit and we received so many compliments on how good the food was! The food was so delicious! That being said, I am giving them four stars because we had two communication issues. First, we were told all our guests could have all three sides at the food truck and the day of were told they could only have two. The biggest issue though was the food truck needed someone to serve sides and they did not bring the necessary staff to do so. One of the bartenders went to serve sides and left one bartender with a 15+ person line at the bar. When I asked the bartender to go back to the bar (where I paid for them to be) my mom and then one of the groomsmen had to serve the sides. This was defiantly not ideal. If we had to do it again we would absolutely have gone with the food truck but maybe would have hired bartenders from a separate company.

The lobby and room were beautiful and perfect for my history loving wife. We were surprised at the free valet and shuttle service (hotel taxi). We used it the whole 2 times we left. That brings me to the fact the whole complex is worth exploring. They have a good selection of shops and restaurants. Despite my 5 star rating, I will say that some Noises kinda took me by surprise during the night and the yard work in the morning ruined the sound of the waves. I understand that it's an old building and that yard work is necessary, but it's worth mentioning for those who might read this review. I was a little worried after reading a few of the older reviews but it seems they really took criticism seriously and improved greatly.

The inn is part of the larger Fitger's building, which reminds me of Pike Place Market in Seattle…read morebut on a smaller scale. The inn has incredible character with ornate hall carpets, stained glass, and high ceilings. Check in took only a few minutes and he explained different services available during our stay. Our room overlooked the lake, a really pretty view. It was a deluxe room and had nice space for two people, with a king bed, desk with chair, two upholstered chairs, and a mini fridge concealed in the entertainment center. The bathroom wasn't as tiny as many hotels, and seemed as if it had been renovated in the past few years. The hotel included small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, as there were no installed pumps on the walls. In the morning, the nearby board room had coffee available (tasty stuff, according to my husband) plus apples, bananas, and an assortment of granola bars and similar bars. There were also some board games available for guests. Our first night there, on a Thursday, was incredibly quiet. No road noise, no noises within the hotel. Even the AC was quiet. Our experience Friday and Saturday wasn't as pleasant because we had very loud people on one side who were talking and laughing past 11pm and also had dogs that yapped at random intervals. So, just an unfortunate draw as to who our neighbors were. That was the only negative, though. We loved how many things were walkable from our room. We went in most all the nearby shops and bought a number of things, too. People should know that the parking garage is on the other side of the complex; valet parking is also available but we didn't utilize it.
