First, before going to Bentleyville, enjoy a take out sandwich at Sir Benedict's Tavern in the Lake. Delightful! The wait was long and the signage to get in wasn't great. Have food and drinks for the 45 minute plus wait. Once we figured it out out, the line went fast. Quick tip, there are two lines, be bold and.go to the right if no one else is there. The lights were well organized and the drive thru was really easy. It was a nice drive thru, good music. While in line there was an opportunity to buy pizza and drinks. We had already eaten. A nice holiday evening. Enjoy!

Great experience walking through Bentleyville this year: We arrived just as the lights turned on (our 3 year old said it was just for us)~ Cookies & hot chocolate stop~ Popcorn stop~ Lots of photo ops along the walk~ Marshmallow roasting out in the open~ Finally, meeting Mr. & Mrs. Santa and our little one getting a hat~ More lights and Christmas music to lighten even the staunchest of Grinches! $10 per car to park. Yes, it was worth it to drive the family up from the Twin Cities for the evening at Bentleyville (a mere 2 hours each way with our entire family in the car)...

We visited Bentleyville in December to check out the lights before Christmas and had a great time! The price for parking was reasonable with a couple people in one car, and it took us about 45 min to an hour to walk through with stopping for pictures. It was a great experience with really impressive lights!

As a native Minnesotan, I look forward to Bentleyville every year! I love the mini road trip from the Twin Cities to Duluth for this walk through Christmas display! Parking is just $5 (you get a $5 off coupon to a couple local restaurants) and admission is FREE! There is also free popcorn, free marshmallows to make s'mores (the chocolate bar is $1.50 and the graham cracker per 2 squares was 50 cents each), free cookies and free hot chocolate. For kids of all ages, there is also pictures with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. For couples, there is a mini romantic path somewhere in the middle. Overall, it took us about 45 minutes to walk through the whole thing.

Wow! What a treat! This place is so amazing. Bentleyville has been an amazing experience for so many years. It's an annual tradition for us to come here and experience the tour of lights. Every year you can tell it gets bigger and better. I love the support from all of the volunteers. I have had even the privilege of volunteering three different years giving out cookies, hot chocolate, and even setting up sticks in the marshmallow hut. It's great service and a fun way to not only enjoy the lights but make sure the people who visit have an amazing experience as well. The lighting displays different Christmas classics like the twelve days of Christmas and the nativity scene. In another area there is a lighting display supporting all the first responders which is really neat. You can meet Santa and Mrs Clause along with many fun Christmas characters. It's a real joy for all ages. Make sure when you go to visit the gift shop to remember your visit and if you can make a donation. It's all volunteer so every little bit helps to keep this display coming every year. Parking is $10 but that's all that you have to pay for. Thanks for reading! #schroyerfamilydaily #lightdisplay #christmas #bentleyville #volunteer #lights #family #arrenschroyer

We went to Bentleyville to the light show. We had a wonderful time. One thing I should say is to make sure you know how to line up and where. We thought we knew but had a hard time finding where they were lining up. We were in line for about an hour. Once we got to the area there were plenty of people directing traffic. We enjoyed the drive thru. We had gone to the show a few years ago when it was a walk thru. We enjoyed that a lot. Hopefully next year they'll be able to do that again.

We had previously been to Bentleyville a few years ago and loved it. At that time of course you could walk through the light show but now of course it is a drive thru. We had trouble finding where to line up though which put us in a very long line. Be sure to research where to line up so you don't have to drive around as long as we did. With that saying once we did find the line it was well organized. Although we had an hour wait there were plenty of people working and directing traffic. When we did get into the grounds everything was lovely. The music is piped trough the radio station 91.7. We had a wonderful time looking at the lights. We remembered most of the lights we saw from last time. If you do go just make sure you know how they are lining up.

We make Bentleyville a tradition every year. For many years we have been making our trek to Duluth to experience this wonderful light display. We love Duluth in itself and is our favorite place for a staycation but Bentleyville is the cherry on the holiday family friendly sundae! The family puts on the long johns and winter coats to oooo and aaah through this free light display. We love the cookies, cocoa, toasting marshmallows, and the photo opportunities that we make sure to catch every year. And it's all set against the back drop of Lake Superior and the lift bridge that adds to the magic with it's illumination. Bentleyville is such a treat.

Wow- Bentlyville! At Bayfront Festival Park. Everything is free but be sure to give a donation. This is a true Christmas wonderland for all ages. This was our fourth visit and one of the best in recent memory during a pandemic. It's right for the soul and a perfect place to celebrate with family. We came on a Tuesday night later to avoid the crowds making our night special.

Great place for this holiday season, decided to go with my wife and some friends and it was totally worth it $10 for car they have free hot cocoa and cookies just an amazing place.

Positives: more lights than you'll see most anywhere. Free hot cocoa/coffee, cookies/roasted marshmallows/and popcorn, and lighted fires for warming up at the entrance and about half-way through the displays. The event itself is free. How rare is that? Negatives: lack of parking, and crowds, crowds, and more crowds. You'll likely have to pay for parking, unless you park downtown and walk. There's very little free parking near the park. My advice is go on a weeknight. We were here on a recent Saturday evening and there were so many people that it was painful. The crowd moved extremely slowly through the lighted walkways. I would be extremely hesitant to bring a young child when it's so busy, unless they're strapped into a stroller or riding on your shoulders. It would be too easy for them to step aside and get lost in the crowd. One youngster was throwing up along the walkway during our visit. The various lights are fun to see. There are displays of dinosaurs, highlights of Duluth, such as ships, animals from the zoo, etc. If you want you can visit with Santa Claus and the Mrs. While we enjoyed it, we vowed to return only at a time when things would be less busy.

It was still fun driving in and under the lights. The kids said many times that it still felt magical.

We had an absolutely awesome experience tonight…read more We started at the Duluth Huskies stadium (Wade Stadium) and enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the field, locker room, and grounds, we were also treated to stories about the history of the team. The general manager was our tour guide... he was one of the friendliest and knowledgeable people I've ever met! The stadium and team are rich with history, even down to the bricks they used to erect the entrance to the field. Dave was our bus driver and tour guide for the night. After the stadium tour he took us to Bent Paddle where we were able to samples some brews and enjoy the atmosphere, what a cool place! Their beers are outstanding! The 14 degrees ESB is a GABF (Great American Beer Festival) winner! I would highly recommend trying it. There's an awesome BBQ joint that will deliver to the tasting room too! We ended the night back at the stadium with a Huskies' baseball game. The won in walkoff fashion! It was a great game! We are looking foreword to another tour. I would highly recommend a tour with Duluth Experience.

Hi - This review is…read morea little late, but I am still thinking about the amazing tour I went on last summer, so I knew I had to sit down and write a review. I was in Duluth for my brother's wedding and didn't know anything about the city or the area. I was with my then-boyfriend and we knew it was a beautiful area, but wasn't sure the best way to experience it all. That is when I booked us on the Scenic North Shore Bicycle Tour. It was by far the best thing we did in Duluth (minus watching my brother get married,ha) and we were raving about it to all the weddings guests all weekend. The guys running the show were great to talk to and they clearly thought of everything. If you are traveling to Duluth and want to really have the best tour guides, book with them.

I booked a first class dome car seat on the Zephyr route…read more Check-in/boarding: Check in was effortless- the ticket counter was adjacent to front door and clearly marked. I was given a color-coded ticket. While waiting at the museum to board, the restrooms were conveniently located. The boarding process was organized and quick. Service: In the dome car were my two hosts (real-life sisters): "Thelma and Louise" (not their real names, LOL). Both were kind, gracious and funny. They seemed to really enjoy hosting, and being a part of the museum. Food: This was not my main reason for riding, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They served two beverages (either with or without alcohol), a small charcuterie tray and a heavy, delicious chocolate chip brownie. Lastly, dinner mints - all food/beverages were complementary! It was a delightful way to spend 75 minutes on a Sunday morning!

Booked our 10 year anniversary trip to Duluth 6+ months in advance and one of the things we wanted…read moreto do was take a train ride. Paid for 2 lake side seats in the dome car and we were excited that this was how we'd begin our anniversary together with views of Duluth. 3 weeks before our trip, NSRR calls and says, "we have a cruise coming in and are needing to make room so we want to offer a free upgrade to you to change your train schedule". They wanted us to change from our 70 minute 11am ride to a 2.5 hour 2:30pm ride. I declined the offer as that would take a majority of the prime part of our day on our anniversary and we had other plans for the day. I also checked that train before I called and the only seats available were scattered seats on the non-lake side of the train. This was not a desirable option. The rude guy on the phone says, "Well alright, if we can't make enough room for the group you'll hear back from my boss". What is that supposed to mean? Also, this "upgrade" had a value of about $5 more than what I already paid for. Let's not call that an upgrade. Fast forward 2 weeks. A week before we travel to Duluth for our anniversary. I get a phone call. They sold our seats and our options are either take the option I already declined, move down to coach seating, or be refunded. Are you kidding me? I called back and the first person was unable to help me and handed the phone off to the rude person I talked to weeks prior and the one who left me the voicemail, "Josh". Said I was calling about my Sept 12th 11am reservation that I am told I no longer have. I said I booked this 6 months ago how could I possibly not have it? He says, "ooh, that sounds like a question for my boss". To which i replied I'd love to talk to your boss once you finish processing my refund. Transfered me to his boss, can't remember his name but it's unimportant because I'm sure that's who will reply to this review to do damage control with some kind of excuse. I asked him why my tickets were available for sale to someone else if they were purchased by me 6 months ago? He said "unfortunately this happens from time to time and we needed to make room for a group". Excuse me? It doesnt need to happen at all, YOU are in charge of the business and sold tickets, those spots were unavailable. Do people sell tickets to football games after they've been sold already? Do people continue to constantly sell airplane tickets months after the plane is full? How come this group wasnt sold the coach seats I was being forced into? I didnt pay for coach seats, I paid for an experience for my wife and I to celebrate an exciting milestone in our marriage. The entire staff I talked to on the phone did not care at all that this was our anniversary plan or that we were upset. The manager said, "can i offer you spots on our dinner train?" No, I dont want to treat my wife to pepperoni pizza on your train for our 10 year anniversary dinner. I clearly couldn't rely on you to keep that reservation anyhow and I'm not trusting you with another anniversary plan. How about offering me the seats I bought when there was still snow outside that you sold to someone in September? I couldn't possibly recommend this business less. I'll be telling anyone I know going to Duluth to not waste their time with this business and I genuinely hope karma comes back to the people who likely had a good laugh with each other after they got off the phone about how upset I was about this. Glad it was funny to you, I could tell by your passive aggressive sarcastic tone on the phone that you couldn't have cared less about how the situation impacted us. Bad business practices. Steer clear and find something else to do while you're in Duluth. If you are on the September 12th 2025 cruise in Duluth and in the 11am train in the dome car, enjoy your seats, North Shore Scenic Railroad ruined our 10 year wedding anniversary plans so you could have them.
