I tried to book this venue for my wedding in June 2026. I talked to Chelsea at the end of July, explained we were moving out of state and would love to come see it once we were settled in MN. She was great at first, and promised the date was ours! Fast forward to August after our move when we tried to schedule a visit and sign our contract and we were ghosted. My fiancé and I called numerous times, emailed, and submitted two more inquiry forms with no response. Chelsea responded almost three weeks later saying she was no longer employed but to contact her manager, Colleen Smith, and that the date was still ours. When we finally got in touch, Colleen immediately said both boats were booked on the date we had talked to Chelsea about. Didn't offer any solutions, and was clearly annoyed at our frustration. My mother-in-law sent in a random inquiry for the same date for a "party", because this seemed too weird. Sure enough, they called her back to say they would be happy to book her event on the date they told us was filled. Unbelievable. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Colleen Smith is an inconsiderate manager and I am amazed by her lack of professionalism.

Better communication, safety, empathy and accountability come to mind. I would rate this experience as a zero if I could. Before you consider boarding, you should have all your affairs in order.

Honestly, I had low expectations, and this trip exceeded expectations! Big fan! We got in line early and ensured we had a seat on the top deck. Wonderful views and a (mostly) informative narration! Just the right amount of time to loop around and get back. A worth whole way to spend an hour and a half or two for tourists of the area!

Sunset on a quiet night on our cruise.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 yr anniversary with the dinner cruise and it was wonderful. It was a nice mellow slow ride that lasted about 2 hours, the tour announcer only announced like four things, which to me for a dinner, was just the right amount. It wasn't obnoxious, it was more or less "and over here you'll see this and that..." and that was it. It was a nice mellow quiet night and exactly what we were looking for. This was awesome. We ordered the steak dinner which was amazing and because of my wife allergies to broccoli, our server used different tongs to dish out all her food so we didn't have to worry about cross contamination of anything. Because of that, it was a worry free experience! This was truly an awesome night and I couldn't thank the crew or dinner server enough. Thank you for all of this, it really made our night special and not something we'll soon forget, thank you so much for this!

I loved it the driver let my kids drive the boat great tourist just love it

Sam is amazing tour guide! We started at 9:55 am and went around the watery shores of Duluth and back in the harbor. He's knowledgeable and funny! The tour was really great, and the view is picturesque! Totally worth the $25/person. It was 1hr 45mins.

View from the back of the boat.

This was just...ok. We were promised breakfast and coffee and in reality it was just a doughnut and cup of not so great coffee. The doughnut was fantastic though (Johnson's Bakery!) Also, if you aren't sitting on the starboard side of the boat you won't see much. It seems like everything is focused on that side. So of course everyone was trying to move to that side of the boat and eventually the captain requested some people move because we were literally tipped slightly to one side. Not one person moved. So my husband and I did and of course that made zero difference. And this was supposed to be a fall colors tour - we saw no fall colors. It was also confusing. The crew seemed very "meh" about being there (not that I blame them) and it was disorganized. Half the people took doughnuts because they weren't told they couldn't - the rest of us were told to wait. So there were a lot of weird looks. And no passengers were kept under control. Many moved around, moved the chairs, and sat in front of others blocking their view and as I said - the boat was leaning to one side due to the uneven weight. Of course someone brought a baby who fussed most of the time. On the flip side, it was very chill. So there's that. Overall I wouldn't pay for this again. It was a lot of money for us and felt like a bit of a waste. It didn't help that it was freezing, super windy, and totally overcast outside. But we did get to see parts of the harbor you don't easily see from the shore which I guess was the point. On a nicer day, with a more enthusiastic crew willing to manage the passengers, and more variety of food and drink this would be better.

We had an absolutely awesome experience tonight…read more We started at the Duluth Huskies stadium (Wade Stadium) and enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the field, locker room, and grounds, we were also treated to stories about the history of the team. The general manager was our tour guide... he was one of the friendliest and knowledgeable people I've ever met! The stadium and team are rich with history, even down to the bricks they used to erect the entrance to the field. Dave was our bus driver and tour guide for the night. After the stadium tour he took us to Bent Paddle where we were able to samples some brews and enjoy the atmosphere, what a cool place! Their beers are outstanding! The 14 degrees ESB is a GABF (Great American Beer Festival) winner! I would highly recommend trying it. There's an awesome BBQ joint that will deliver to the tasting room too! We ended the night back at the stadium with a Huskies' baseball game. The won in walkoff fashion! It was a great game! We are looking foreword to another tour. I would highly recommend a tour with Duluth Experience.

Hi - This review is…read morea little late, but I am still thinking about the amazing tour I went on last summer, so I knew I had to sit down and write a review. I was in Duluth for my brother's wedding and didn't know anything about the city or the area. I was with my then-boyfriend and we knew it was a beautiful area, but wasn't sure the best way to experience it all. That is when I booked us on the Scenic North Shore Bicycle Tour. It was by far the best thing we did in Duluth (minus watching my brother get married,ha) and we were raving about it to all the weddings guests all weekend. The guys running the show were great to talk to and they clearly thought of everything. If you are traveling to Duluth and want to really have the best tour guides, book with them.

I booked a first class dome car seat on the Zephyr route…read more Check-in/boarding: Check in was effortless- the ticket counter was adjacent to front door and clearly marked. I was given a color-coded ticket. While waiting at the museum to board, the restrooms were conveniently located. The boarding process was organized and quick. Service: In the dome car were my two hosts (real-life sisters): "Thelma and Louise" (not their real names, LOL). Both were kind, gracious and funny. They seemed to really enjoy hosting, and being a part of the museum. Food: This was not my main reason for riding, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They served two beverages (either with or without alcohol), a small charcuterie tray and a heavy, delicious chocolate chip brownie. Lastly, dinner mints - all food/beverages were complementary! It was a delightful way to spend 75 minutes on a Sunday morning!

Booked our 10 year anniversary trip to Duluth 6+ months in advance and one of the things we wanted…read moreto do was take a train ride. Paid for 2 lake side seats in the dome car and we were excited that this was how we'd begin our anniversary together with views of Duluth. 3 weeks before our trip, NSRR calls and says, "we have a cruise coming in and are needing to make room so we want to offer a free upgrade to you to change your train schedule". They wanted us to change from our 70 minute 11am ride to a 2.5 hour 2:30pm ride. I declined the offer as that would take a majority of the prime part of our day on our anniversary and we had other plans for the day. I also checked that train before I called and the only seats available were scattered seats on the non-lake side of the train. This was not a desirable option. The rude guy on the phone says, "Well alright, if we can't make enough room for the group you'll hear back from my boss". What is that supposed to mean? Also, this "upgrade" had a value of about $5 more than what I already paid for. Let's not call that an upgrade. Fast forward 2 weeks. A week before we travel to Duluth for our anniversary. I get a phone call. They sold our seats and our options are either take the option I already declined, move down to coach seating, or be refunded. Are you kidding me? I called back and the first person was unable to help me and handed the phone off to the rude person I talked to weeks prior and the one who left me the voicemail, "Josh". Said I was calling about my Sept 12th 11am reservation that I am told I no longer have. I said I booked this 6 months ago how could I possibly not have it? He says, "ooh, that sounds like a question for my boss". To which i replied I'd love to talk to your boss once you finish processing my refund. Transfered me to his boss, can't remember his name but it's unimportant because I'm sure that's who will reply to this review to do damage control with some kind of excuse. I asked him why my tickets were available for sale to someone else if they were purchased by me 6 months ago? He said "unfortunately this happens from time to time and we needed to make room for a group". Excuse me? It doesnt need to happen at all, YOU are in charge of the business and sold tickets, those spots were unavailable. Do people sell tickets to football games after they've been sold already? Do people continue to constantly sell airplane tickets months after the plane is full? How come this group wasnt sold the coach seats I was being forced into? I didnt pay for coach seats, I paid for an experience for my wife and I to celebrate an exciting milestone in our marriage. The entire staff I talked to on the phone did not care at all that this was our anniversary plan or that we were upset. The manager said, "can i offer you spots on our dinner train?" No, I dont want to treat my wife to pepperoni pizza on your train for our 10 year anniversary dinner. I clearly couldn't rely on you to keep that reservation anyhow and I'm not trusting you with another anniversary plan. How about offering me the seats I bought when there was still snow outside that you sold to someone in September? I couldn't possibly recommend this business less. I'll be telling anyone I know going to Duluth to not waste their time with this business and I genuinely hope karma comes back to the people who likely had a good laugh with each other after they got off the phone about how upset I was about this. Glad it was funny to you, I could tell by your passive aggressive sarcastic tone on the phone that you couldn't have cared less about how the situation impacted us. Bad business practices. Steer clear and find something else to do while you're in Duluth. If you are on the September 12th 2025 cruise in Duluth and in the 11am train in the dome car, enjoy your seats, North Shore Scenic Railroad ruined our 10 year wedding anniversary plans so you could have them.
