I was very impressed with my first visit to Groom! Salon! Milo, my Mini Poodle, is 4 months & has never received any professional grooming. So, I was extremely nervous about him feeling comfortable about leaving him with strangers for the first time. However, one of the main reasons I chose Groom! Salon is because they don't crate the pups, which I knew would be less stress on Milo. When I entered Jennifer, the owner, was very friendly and informative. I got to meet Irene who would be grooming Milo. Because Milo wears his harness a lot, his hair was worn down. Jennifer discussed this with me and showed me the proper comb and brush to buy and went over often and how I should groom Milo each day. They explained how the cut would look and then I left. After about an hour and half, Milo was ready for pickup. Though he was afraid when I left, he was calm when I returned, which I was glad to see. He looked absolutely adorable albeit almost unrecognizable! Lol. Because I am a new pup parent, Jennifer gave me a couple more grooming tips and even recommended a vet since I expressed wanting to go to a smaller office than Milo currently visits. I moved to Silver Spring almost two years ago, but kept bringing my dog down to his old groomer in North Carolina because I wasn't dazzled with many of the options in the area. Finally, I decided that it was time to find a local groomer and give them a go. Thank goodness that GROOM! just opened - they were the solution I was looking for. I easily got a convenient appointment with Mirna for a Friday morning. When I arrived, the front desk staff were kind and welcoming. The space looks great. The front waiting area is comfortable and informal. And looking into the grooming area, there's a few spots to park the pups in-between grooming sessions and a ton of space in between stations. The staff said they would give me a call about 20 minutes before the grooming session was over so I could come pick up my pup just as it ended. I got that call about 35 minutes after I dropped him off - it was so fast! Mirna did a phenomenal job. We spoke briefly about the look I was going for when I dropped him off and she absolutely nailed it! And add to that, when I picked him up, he was wearing a cute lil' bow tie to complement his new look. Only draw back is that parking isn't particularly convenient in this part of town. The folks at GROOM! make it easier by offering to pick-up from your car around the corner. When it was time to reclaim my pup, I paid $3 to park in the closest garage for 8 minutes. Eh. Thank goodness they're worth the hassle! I highly recommend GROOM! The staff is great, the facility is well designed, and the price is comparable (maybe a bit more reasonable even) then other spots in the area. read more

I have never had my dog groomed. He is a mutt who hates baths and will not let me anywhere near his feet to cut his nails. A friend had been here for a mail trim so I decided to try for a bath and nail trim. Everyone was really nice here. The owner was very accommodating and gave me instructions when I made the appt. for drop off. My dog came out sparkling. His coat is super shiny and soft and he has not been shedding, which was a huge problem. I would definitely recommend Groom for your dogs needs. read more

This was the best grooming experience we've had! They have such great staff and a spacious open area for our pup. The cut was exactly what we asked for and Myloh was so so happy and excited when we picked him up like he had a really good time while he was there. Previously taking him to a PetSmart for a grooming appt, he would practically run out of the building and let us know that he was not happy to be there. This was a really good experience for me and my tiny beast. Our long time groomer retired last year and we've had a hard time finding a good fit for an older dog with a spine issue. Jenifer put me at ease on the phone and I felt confident they would be gentle with her. And they were. My mini was happy to see me at pickup but not panicked and she looked fabulous. She smelled clean but not perfume-y and her cut is a beauty. Jenifer was kind and professional and Irene is a grooming artist. Pip has rarely looked better. Also, and this is key for me, Irene noted a growth on her face (hidden by her shaggy hair) and Jenifer told me about it. I appreciate that level of detail. Our old groomer kept a card with Pip's various issues noted on it and I didn't realize how much I had missed that sort of communication until yesterday. I heartily recommend Groom. Parking is nearby (public garage or street metered). The massive Giant Food is on East West Highway nearby and has a Starbucks. There are also several coffee shops by Georgia Ave in Downtown Silver Spring like Kefa, Kaldi's, Black Lion and Bump and Grind (Kefa is the best- you must go!) and the public library is on Fenton Street which has Bump and Grind coffee inside. read more

After experiencing a bad experience with Pet Smart, it took us a while to find the grooming that we would feel comfortable and know that our dog, Goldendoodle is happy & safe. I am so amazed by their groomers, they were patient and took care of dog very well. Every time we drop off our dog, he would run to the door and get ready for grooming! Jennifer and Jeff are so amazing. They explained the expectation, listened to our request, and shared tips of grooming at home if necessary. Our dog always comes home with a fresh look! Highly recommend! Also, that place is cage-free so dogs will have an opportunity to play with other dogs during grooming. Worth it! That place followed the COVID protocols (curbside, pick up, etc) with no problem. read more

I would like to start this review by saying the 1 star is not for the actual groomer. Rachel is great. My critique is for the owners unethical business practices. She charges by the weight which would be fine if she took your dogs actual weight into account. My dog weighs 45 pounds. About an hour into his appointment she calls to say he weighed in at 60 pounds. I told her that he had his last recorded weight just 4 weeks prior was 45.3 pounds. He has reached his full size and there is no way he gained 15 pounds in 4 weeks. She legit said he must have gained some COVID weight. She then says she will weigh him in front of me when I pick him up. Fast forward to a few hours later, I pick him up and she claims she weighed him again and he came in at 51 pounds. I said okay. She then states the price is the same because 51 pounds still counts as an extra large dog. The lies, the lies, the lies. At this point, it was obvious to me she does not care to have me as a return customer and I was parked illegally and needed to get moving. I weighed my dog upon returning home and he weighed in at 44lbs. I also had his weight confirmed at the vet 2 weeks later as 44 pounds. It's really unfortunate because my dog enjoys his time there, however I just can't pay money to have a business owner blatantly disrespect me by boldly and repeatedly lying to my face. read more
