BEWARE all beloved DOG OWNERS!!! If you don't mind paying a premium for bad rushed haircut and slow services, then ignore this review: I hate leaving bad reviews but this one warranted a review to warn others! 1. First time at this salon, - I'm a dog owner of 10 years and have taken the dogs into many salons, called in the day before to ask if they have availability for 3 doodles on Tuesday and they said yes, "we have 11am or 1pm available." My friend and I took the 11am appointment. I sent them the photos on their Instagram page of the 2 reference teddy bear cut I am specifically seeking for our dogs. The next day, we were running behind so we called in to let them know we were 15-20 min behind. They put us on hold for 15 min & finally came back on, and said yes it's fine. 2. When we arrived, they were nice and we reminded them of the specific cut request sent out yesterday. We needed someone who was skilled in doodle cut. They said they can do it, not a problem (after evaluating the dogs in person). They assigned us their newest groomer, Sarah, to tend to all 3 doodles...she told us it would be about 4 hours and will call 30 min to let us know they're almost ready. 3. We hung around the area and at 3pm, 30 min before 3:30pm, expected to get a call but nothing. At 4pm, we decided to start heading to the groomer as it's now 4.5 hours since we dropped them off. At 4:20, the salon called, we were 2 min away so we were excited to be right on time, and said they just gave them a bath and haven't even started on the hair cut yet and will need another hour. Honestly, we were shocked - as the doodles were supposed to be almost done. 4. Upon arrival, they tried to blame on the fact that we were late so they didn't start on the dogs until now (4:20pm) and we will finish them in 45 min. We were really hesitant to move forward and just pull the plug because this means they would get a rushed cut even though the appointment was for 5 hours ago. Against my better judgement, my friend and I decided to proceed with the cutting because I had already taken a day off of work to bring the dogs for their haircut and my friend had to work an evening shift but had to rearrange that too since we were already there. 5. We waited nearby and came back in at 5:40pm. Dogs were ready to go and despite our annoyance with them earlier, we were excited to see the beautiful teddy bear cut our dogs were getting! WRONG. The 1 hour rushed job was pretty obvious. They all got the same cut but WITHOUT the teddy bear request. No blowout roundness. NO POOF on the forehead and around the face. We paid a dematting fee for the time spent on brushing out their face and getting this look, the rest of the body was shaved off (there's no dematting here). The owners & groomers blamed it on the fact that they were too flamboyant and matted and this was the best they could do. We asked if one of the dogs who has bad teardrop stains can get the hair around that area cut, and yep, groomer said yes, and yep it's still there upon pick up. The doodles had their worse haircut ever. 6. Upon payment time, we were quoted WAY MORE than what was on the sign on top. They told us there would be a dematting fee when we walked in earlier but DID NOT tell us they would be adding additional $15-20 per dog because they are poodles. Be warned, the price chart is a based + breed + dematting will be your final total and be sure to ASK if the breed will cost extra or you'd get a nice surprise. If it was one dog, we would have just bit our lips and paid up. Sadly we entrusted all 3 dogs with them and even though we were very specific about the cut and what we want and asked for total price, In the end, we felt ripped off. The owner refused to give us a SINGLE discount on wasting our time, was going to charge one of the dog more than what she weighs even though she's 15 lbs, they quoted her under the 20lb weight, then saying they can't take money off the groomers time. The groomers spent 1 hour on the dog NOT 3-4 to give them the best cut. 7. So here I am, one very upset customer, with dogs that got the worse haircuts ever, uneven hair strands (they even had to continue cutting a few more off of one of the dog's tail in the waiting room and I had to point out a few strands for the groomer to trim) and out of almost $450. 8. BE WARNED. NOT PROFESSIONAL. Don't make special requests. Stick with just a standard cut whatever they can do, otherwise they won't be able to fulfill it but will say yes they can, happily take your money, and might just make you wait a whole full day if you own dogs with curly hair. Check the photos for yourself....

We have been extremely satisfied with Dogs and Paws. The staff are always nice and professional. Our Pixie always looks and smells great.

This is my dogs haircut. The first time they came here.

My two dogs have been coming here for a few months and I've had a great experience. There was one issue where we weren't returned leash and collar and they immediately resolve the issue. I highly recommend them. But please make sure your dogs are thoroughly de tangled if they have curly hair otherwise they will end up with a bald summer cut that may not be cute, but will be necessary.

2nd time with Carlos from Dawgs & Paws and still beyond pleased with his work! Our dog Conan always comes out looking business casual and smelling like a million buck. Not to mention he's extra soft and fluffy. We'll definitely be coming back.

**Edit: I had gotten my dog groomed on Tuesday (03/04). For the last couple of days, she has been constantly licking and whimpering. Checked her paw today, to find out that there is a huge cut from the rushed grooming they did for some fast cash. Horrible!! Overpriced, rushed, mediocre haircuts and negligible customer service. Got my dog as well as 2 other dogs groomed here after sawing the tremendous amount of good reviews on Google. Despite the place having 4.9 stars with 500+ reviews on Google Maps, this place seems to have a lack of professionalism when it comes to customer satisfaction and service. We sent a few photos of our ideal haircut/hairstyle to the company, in which they had agreed upon doing. We then reconfirmed with the hair groomer when we visited of the specific cut we wanted (a normal poodle, teddy bear style cut, which we have gotten many times before at multiple different places). We arrived a couple of minutes later than the arrived appointment time due to some heavy traffic and unexpected events, in which we called ahead of time to notify them of our late arrival. Although we would have been completely fine with being rescheduled for another day, they had given us the "Ok" and we proceeded to stop by. We wanted to give this place a shot as we hoped to find the best groomer through affordability, convenience, and service quality. This place is definitely not cheap. We did not mind, but after seeing how we got our dogs back, we deeply regret not carefully reviewing all reviews besides the good. We were quoted 3-4 hours for all dogs. We stayed around the area waiting for them to give us a call to pick our dogs up. When we came by the quoted time, they told us that because they assigned us to the "New groomer" and that she was being slow and they had only gotten a bath at that point. They then told us would have to stop by at around 7, which is pretty absurd seeing as we had already waited that long with no communication before whatsoever. Additionally, on their website it mentions they close at 5:30 pm.. Every other groomer I had went to had always gotten all dogs out within 2-3 hours for 3 dogs. We contemplated on taking them out after that wait, since we felt our time as paying customers were clearly not valued. We expressed our concerns on how they had waited till the end of the day to cut our dog's fur, and that they would probably do a sloppy and rushed job at the end for a quick money grab. However, the manager insisted that her and her sister, Ivana, would be able to finish the job without the haircut being, keyword, "rushed". We decided to give them another chance, but that is a decision that I deeply regret. When we had came back, we noticed we got a mediocre shave down and rushed choppy work. There were blatantly obvious pieces of longer fur on their legs and other parts. Bald spots under their ears and almost no grooming on their faces. It didn't match the inspiration photos we had asked constantly for, before. The haircut pricing was already expensive, and we were upset about the wait we had to endure with little to no communication about the process. On top of that, we were quoted additional fees on the price. Although on their website it says that it could be $10-$15 more depending on their condition, we were quoted $25 and overall almost paid an extra $150 for nothing. Their excuse was of my dog's temperament and how anxious they were, and they had to take that into account. We asked for a discount and the manager outrightly refused. When we picked them up as well, they were still rushing out to fix some uneven parts of my dog's hair to help cover up that everything was rushed. We were not even offered for a returning appointment for a fixed up or any apologies. Although it is up to a business owner's discretion for these types of offers, customer satisfaction and time, was severely neglected. In their defense, they said the complimentary free "lux" package for booking with their new groomer was included. I checked all my dog's teeth, they don't seem like they had any sort of cleaning as mentioned. My dog had also been consistently scooting on the floor and sitting down suddenly everytime we walk after the haircut. She also has been licking her genitalia area constantly which is very unlike her. Either the anal gland expression they offered in their "lux" package went wrong in their hands or just plain mishandling. I usually never leave reviews unless the service is absolutely exceptional, but unfortunately in this case, they left me appalled. Please do not go here, there are many other affordable groomers out there who will not just see your dogs as a quick money grab.

Another great visit to Dawgs and Paws. Chupacabra got the Bath, Blowout, Nails and Ears (BBNE) and a Mini Groom on paws, face and sanitary areas. He's all fluffy and his hair grew back nicely since the previous shave down when he was matted.

    Before

I'm a little behind with this review. Our big girl Millie needed some TLC with a bath and brush. She can be anxious, but she did great thanks to the careful handling of the crew. She came home smelling fresh and feeling fine. Plus she is an officially a member of the House of Hufflepuff based on the tie they gave her!

After we first got our pup, we took him here twice and the first cut was simply okay, although our pup seemed extremely sad and upset after being here. Despite my gut feeling, we decided to give them another shot and the groomer called because he did not remember how we requested him to be cut. During our call, I mentioned hair around his face and eyes grow tremendously quicker than the hair on his body and we have issues with the hair covering his eyes. He said he understood and the solution was the treacherous cut you see here. My poor pup hated this place and they claimed he was extremely difficult and that was why. We also were upcharged upon pick up without explanation and had to ask why and their response was he's a difficult pup. We have not had this issue or such a poor cut at our new groomer. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family as it was a poor experience for us, especially as new pup parents.

Having been a long-term client since the previous management under Lincoln and his brother, I was surprised & frustrated by the unprofessionalism encountered during our visit (social evaluation). I recently requested a week-long boarding schedule for pet for next week. Following the request, a staff member emailed for a new social evaluation. Despite the stress of recent travel, my pet completed the evaluation successfully. However, the process was abruptly ended & pet was ultimately disapproved--not based on behavior, but due to a personal personality clash between myself & the staff member, TT. Furthermore, TT mentioned additional daycare fees outside of the standard boarding costs. It became clear the decision to reject pet was based on TT's personal opinion of our interaction rather than pet's conduct. My pet is friendly, loving & has historically been a model guest at this establishment. The current lack of a standardized, objective process for securing daycare & boarding is concerning. It is highly unprofessional for a pet's approval to be contingent upon a staff member's personal feelings toward a client. The level of service & care experienced today is incomparable to the high standards set by previous management. I hope you will review the evaluation procedures to ensure they are based on objective criteria rather than personal bias. I do not recommend the Dog Stat under the current management. New management has drastically changed its climate.

Unfortunately my previous cat died and I got a new cat in late 2022. I explained the death to the receptionist when I booked the new cat for grooming. When I got to the appointment, she was calling the new cat the dead cats name--I had to explain to her again. Two additional times, when I was booking grooming, I had to tell the receptionist that the previous cat was dead. It was the same person but apparently cannot or will not update their records?
