Grind is a new restaurant in Boyertown! They are still working out some kinks but we were super pleased with our meal despite the wait! The restaurant ambiance was cozy but open. Our group of 4 was seated after about 20 mins of waiting at 6pm on a Saturday night. We all were there to try the meatballs and they did not disappoint! Everything is made to order from scratch. Meals took a while to arrive at the table but everything was delicious. The Poutine fries were amazing as well and a great appetizer option. They are opening a coffee shop & offering donuts on the other side of the store in the near future! Can't wait to come back to try more from the menu. read more

We visited Grind during the first week of it's opening. We were a party of four and were seated within ten minutes. The hostess staff was friendly and timely. The atmosphere and design of the interior was awesome. It has a cozy and rustic feel. The entire restaurant and bar were full that night We shared poutine fries for an app. The fries were fresh cut and had the perfect amount of toping. Each of us had a different meatball dish. We tried each type of meatball, risotto, pasta, and the mac and cheese. I got my meatballs as a grinder with the arrabbiata sauce. It had a perfect spicy sweet kick. All three type of meatballs were very large and fresh. Each sauce we tried was also very flavorful. Can't wait to come back and try future menu additions and the soon to release donuts! read more

Have been here twice for dinner. Great food and ambiance. The staff are friendly and helpful with making choices on the menu. One thing to work on, and this goes for many restaurants, it would be nice if the servers came out with the food and set it down in front of you instead of holding it up high and 'auctioning' it off. When taking the order indicate seat 1, 2, etc so when the food comes out it's placed in front of the person who ordered it. It's good service turning into excellent service. read more

Gourmet scratch made food? Uh. Okay, I didn't know that yellowing and woody asparagus, combined with the first non-tender filet mignon I've ever encountered, counts as gourmet. I ordered it rare and I went to cut into it, feeling the meat give just the way rare meat does. I said I was sure it was fine. The part i was cutting into had a natural separation that i didn't see, which was why it was so easy to cut into at first. Yeah, the center was hot and pink. Not cool and red. I ate it anyway, the flavor was okay but when I saw that I paid 41 dollars for chewy asparagus, chewy beef and roasted potatoes, i wasn't thrilled. I gave their dessert menu a try because this place loved to use their pastry chef's French nationality to look fancy. The cookies and cream cheesecake looked and tasted store bought. They sprinkled cookie crumbs onto the plate and piped 3 single tiny mounds of whipped cream next to the cheesecake. Like, they took the piping bag, gently squeezed it for half a second and lifted it off of the plate. 9 dollars for something that is likely sitting in their freezer right now. As a pastry chef, I would be embarrassed to say I have a gourmet dessert menu from a French Pastry Chef and then serve something presented so poorly. Please do not call yourselves gourmet until you serve gourmet food. You take some nice pictures for social media but comparing my dish with identical ones on social media, mine was quite different. read more

I was really impressed with how the owner of this establishment went the extra mile to make things right. Yesterday, I was visiting my brother who got take out at Grind for everyone for lunch. We had a big order and Grind recently got new staff that they were training (as indicated on their social media). The owner told my brother that the two burgers were over cooked and offered to redo them. My brother said he thought his sons wouldn't care and decided to take the burgers home as is. The owner took the cost of the burgers off the bill. Shortly after we left, my brother got a call from the owner saying that a sandwich was left out of the order. The owner delivered the missing sandwich to my brother's house along with two burgers. They say that the true indicator of a person is how they react when things go wrong. The owner of this establishment cared about the quality of the food he serves and is willing to stand behind his product. read more

1st time here and it was Valentines Day. I had the special which was scallops over creamed corn which was very good. Husband had the filet and both of us had a salad. I had the Caesar which was very good and husband had the strawberry field salad which he loved. There was two things we both didn't like. The place was to bright. We sat back in the other room with the water wheel and I felt like I was in a cafeteria. Lights need to be put on a dimmer for some ambience. The other thing was the pre dinner rolls. I expected more from a place like this. Farm to plate should have a home baked crusty roll. The roll was a little charred. It was like they got dinner rolls from the grocery store and threw them on the grill. Other than that the food was great. We will be back and we are going to ask to sit in the bigger room with the bar. The lighting seemed to be less harsh in that area. read more

I was there with 3 additional persons. Very large restaurant, I ordered the curly pasta with red sauce and black olives. There must have been at least a pound of pasta! I would much rather get a smaller portion at a lower price. Thing that bothered me - they wanted to charge us 50 cents each for another half frozen dinner roll! Place could be a Brunch go to. I thought the prices were way too expensive for me. My wife got the Seafood lasagna, they told her there would be crab on top. There was no crab to be found. read more

We got a gift card for Grind and were very excited to try this relatively new, local place with an interesting menu. The have a full bar with a lot of choices, and the coffee is pretty good. We started with a couple of beers, and the Poutine, which was excellent. I highly recommend this if you go. My wife tried to order two things and found out each was not available, then settled on the Chicken Flourintine, and I ordered the meatball cheese sandwich - can't remember the exact name, but you will know it when you see it. The Chicken Flourintine was good but it really was not Chicken Flourintine... It was Chicken Parmigiano with some spinach thrown on top. So while it was good, it wasn't what she wanted. My meatballs were pretty good, but not standout. We really wanted dessert, so we looked at the menu and tried to order only to find out that they only had one thing for dessert out of the whole menu... So we had the Turtle Cheesecake which was typical came from a freezer cheesecake. The service was decent but there were times we sat and waited for help when we needed something that was holding up our food. I imagine it might have been a better experience under less pandemic circumstances, but they could have updated their menu, too. Give it a try, it's not bad - just not awesome. read more

The interior is awesome! Barnyard chic is the style of the interior and I love that it is so spacious you don't feel crowded! This was our second time coming here, but I'm posting my first visit review here so you can here the enthusiasm for our first visit. The second time around was just as wonderful and our server - Katie, remembered the beer I liked and my preferences for having ice cream with my dessert!! We love Katie! Original visit... We only live a short distance from this incredible restaurant. Had we known what we were missing we would have been here MUCH SOONER! Our server, Katie, was friendly, professional and knew her menu, bar offerings and she was very efficient. The food...OMG! Many restaurants can create items that we say, "wow, that was very good", but I could probably make that at home.! Then there comes a restaurant like this one that makes you say..."how did they do that?" simple dishes that are elevated to truly incredible status. We had the Milanese Cigars - fresh asparagus, prosciutto, sharp, puff pastry, served with lemon aioli; Seared duck breast -Pekin duck breast cooked the way we asked Medium-well, French cut green beans, potato puree, bruleed orange vincotto reduction which is a aged reduced grape condiment and absolutely heavenly!!! Grilled American cheese with beef meatballs (beef with caramelized onions, crimini mushroom, fresh and romano ) and we selected the mushroom demi-glace. The food was all phenomenal. The beer selection was small but had good choices for all tastes. They specialize in Boubon tastings. They also have a few cocktails available, the craft brew list is mostly IPA's, and they did have one chocolate stout which had my name on it! The range in prices were amazing a grilled cheese was $9 and the duck was $32, the appetizer was $13 so the prices are great for every price point you'd like to dine within. We will happily highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that loves great food and dining out simply yet at the level of a NY city fine dining establishment. read more

My husband & I dined at Grind for the first time this weekend. We haven't frequented Boyertow, PA often but knew the town had charm. We were pleasantly surprised to find an inviting venue, good food & great service. My husband had the grilled cheese with a meatball sandwich On sourdough. Is that even a thing? YES! So delicious!! You choose the type of meatball as well as a dipping sauce. I selected the shrimp, fries and coleslaw. It was delicious. The shrimp were perfectly coated & delicately fried. Prices were so reasonable & the beer selection to our liking. We will be back! read more

Something had changed. Either the chef or the owner. Last night was the worst meal I have ever had at the Grind. Mushroom risotto looked like a plate of canned baked beans. The chicken was destroyed with oregano and over salted. The basil fettuccine was inedible. I am very disappointed. This place used to rule! read more

This was my first visit to this restaurant so I tried "the grinder" which I chose 3 beef meatballs with the spicy sauce. I tried ordering several other things but their menu was out of date and they did not update their website. I ended up getting the burger which was a tad salty but really good overall. The meatballs I expected to be served on the side but they come on a roll. I felt the meatballs were mediocre. This order was to go and you always lose a little something not eating at the restaurant. When I picked up the place appeared clean and well kept and looks like a nice restaurant overall! I'm excited to eat their with my wife sometime soon. read more

My husband and I called in an order for pickup--and usually I try to get something that I think will carry out well--but I *really* wanted to try their lamb osso bucco. And I was pleasantly surprised, it worked very well for carry out and it was DELICIOUS. We shared the dish (came with polenta and sauce) and it was mind-blowing. Eat here, eat all the things--everything on the menu looked amazing and if it tastes as good as the lamb, then it'll be well worth it! What a gem--I hope everyone supports this restaurant and takes advantage of the delicious dishes they bring to the table. read more
