    Chicken Kabob Platter

Ordered the chicken kabob platter with white rice, salad, and naan. I ordered this online to-go and my order was ready about 5 minutes after they said it would be. The chicken had a nice flavor but the rice and naan were kind of meh. The yogurt sauce also had an odd flavor. The inside of the restaurant was very cute though!

The food is excellent. Freshness, temperature and presentation. The portion size was average. No sense in complaining about price/ cost. Everything, everywhere is expensive since the world reopened from the pandemic. The reason for not five stars, the tables needed to be cleaned after previous customers. I have no problem wiping down where I was sitting but it should have been addressed beforehand. Yes I recommend this business. I throughly enjoyed my late lunch early dinner. A great spot to break bread.

This is another hidden gem in Vienna that serves awesome Kobeeda and chicken kabob (halal). No problem if you come by car, because it's huge parking lot. It's very fresh and new, thus clean and do not have any odor of the food that is grilled just in front of you. Chick peas, salad, two types of rice with fresh nan comes with the platter together with your choice of meat. The meat is grilled to perfection, and the cool thing is that you will never get a burned piece, because they trim it away and grill again right in front of you. Kobeeda has this amazing taste apart from it is juicy and has a the perfect sting density. The service is ok and the staff is doing their job in providing good food in a neat and clean facility. This is the 4th time we are here and the food has consistently being good so will def recommend going here for Kobeeda and chicken kebabs. If I ought to be picky, the price is a bit higher than other similar places therefore 4 stars

First, I didn't realize it was a sit down and order restaurant, I was used to short order. I was quickly seared and within a couple minutes one server had brought me water as well as fresh tandoori bread and a delicious spicy green sauce to go with it. A second server appeared quickly to take my order. I explained I was used to short order, and all I wanted was their version of chicken and steak (not ground beef.) The waiter explained how he'd do the combo on the menu and off he went. Having looked at the menu, I feared this might be an expensive option, and it was. But a few minutes later I was presented with a platter of delicious looking steak, chicken, rice, onions, tomato, and event a char-roasted jalapeño. It was enough food for my wife and I have had for dinner between us, so the price was well justified. Every thing was delicious. At the end of the meal, I asked if I could order another tandoori bread, and get a small to-go container of the green spicy spread to bring home for wife to try. They brought me both a generous helping of bread and the sauce, and charged me for neither. This service, combined with a delicious meal that, while expensive, will end up being three meals, means this is definitely a spot I plan to go back to as well as recommend.

This is one of those places people will come to once and never again. Believe the real reviews on here and not the obvious, "friends and family" entered "reviews". Besides the unhealthy egg substitute they use for the scrambled eggs, the buffet food was basic appetizer type food that was straight out of the can (hummus, fool, etc). No meat items or freshly prepared items are part of that overpriced "buffet". The owner just hovers among the tiny seating area and bothers all the tables trying to get them to leave. After we each grabbed 1 plate, whenever the owner saw us not eating (we were talking to each other), he would come over to ask us if we were finished. Not even 30 minutes after we got in, he notices us talking again and comes back to our table and yelled at us to leave, because "we want to use the table for other people". We were all just sitting there shocked. When my friend finally mentioned we weren't finished, the owner brought an employee over who was holding a tub for dirty dishes and then the owner started grabbing our plates and cups from right in front of us and slammed them into the tub that the employee was holding. He also had the nerve to yell "this is why I don't like you people here!". Racist much? Not sure why he was harrassing all of the tables and finally took it out on us. He definitely made a huge seen, to the point where the couple who came in before us and was seated at the table next to us, recorded his behavior on one of their phones and sent it to my friend who was at our table. Be forewarned, worst place in the DMV area.

This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me. I don't regret stopping by, but I wish my stomach was more settled. I just came from a restorative yoga class and I was thoroughly at peace.

I got there after 6pm. It was packed. It was my first there and had no idea what I was getting into. The menus doesnt explain much nor were prices mentioned. The young man very attentive and friendly. Ushered our dirty tables and brought us our drinks. I had minty lemonade which I recommend if your gonna eat a lot. Here's my gripe. Its very important to label food. None of the food trays or stations were labeled. I have several food allergies and I had no idea what was what. I had to ask what was this or that. There are several reasons why I would choose this restaurant again for my wedding: 1. Food quality was amazing. Both our Iranian and American guests raved about the food, saying it was the best food they have had at a wedding. The meat was tender and juicy and the rice was delicious without being oily, which is very hard to do. Our guests went for seconds and thirds and majority of the food was finished even though we ordered extra! Even my mom, who is a very harsh judge of Persian food, loved it. 2. Service was excellent. Wedding planning is a really stressful process, so choosing a caterer is really important. Coordination with Mr. Sanaei was very smooth. He gave us his personal phone number and texted us everything we needed within hours (including COI and business license). The business is very organized. The delivery was on-time, and all the food arrived well-packed. 3. Most importantly, the staff at the actual restaurant is just really kind. I initially just went for a meal and after being treated with such kindness, I decided to use them for catering. Honestly, I get a feeling that the staff are more like my cousins. The ability to run an efficient and organized business, while still giving us a homy/comforting feeling is what makes this Maman Joon so special! 4. Price is great! I got a quote from several Persian restaurants in the DMV area (and even other Maman Joon branches) and this was lower for the exact same meals. Overall, I highly recommend Maman Joon at McLean as both a restaurant and catering!
