The food was really good the first time I visited in the summertime, service was awesome as well and the vibes was just right. I loved the music despite having to yell over it to communicate to the waitresses and/or to whom you may be out with; the entire setting of this place was nice, so it automatically became my fav. However, as time went by, I started to order via Uber Eats and my order would arrive with something missing. I'd always get the seafood rice, which consists of a lobster tail, shrimps and pieces of salmon. My order would then arrive without the lobster tail. When I would add a Pepsi to my order, they'd send a Coke instead. And no one would contact me to ask me if any of this was even okay. I brushed it off thinking they just ran out or something. But as I continued to order, my food would come with no lobster tail and they'd give me a Coke with no communication. This evening was it for me. I called them in advance to ask them if they had all of the items to create the food and I was told yes. I told the waitress that I would make the order online and come pick it up (10pm). However, when I attempted to make the order online, it said that they were closed but Google says they close at 1 a.m. I called several times again and no one would pick up the phone. So I drove to them, went in and ordered 2 seafood rice for me and my mom, one with no shrimps because my mom is allergic to shrimps. I should've checked the bag before I left but I was so tired this evening. My gut was also telling me to, but like I said, I was super tired. I left without checking the bag. Upon getting home and we (my mom and I) open the containers... guess what? No lobster tails in either of the food, and they put massive amounts of salmon in my mom's food to compensate for the fact that they did not give her a lobster tail and because of her shrimp allergy. In my food? No lobster tail, no salmon, and they put a lot of shrimps again to compensate for not putting salmon and the lobster tail in my food (assuming they had to use the salmon for my mom's dish). I'm upset because AGAIN, no one communicated with me of the lack or shortage of the required ingredients. Please note that before I placed my order this time, I asked the damn waitress if the items were available and she said yes! I'm so upset! My mom contacted them because I was too annoyed to call them, and my mom told them how we felt basically and they offered to give us the tails tomorrow. We declined. Service was fine to me - to be fair, we went for brunch and it wasn't that many people there. Oxtail empanada sounds better than it is. Don't get me wrong, it was good - just not as grandeous as you may think it would be. The shrimp and wings were made to perfection - the sauce idk what it is but they need to bottle it up and sell it. I was in my happy place. The douce bottle frozen drinks may or may not have gotten me lit but I do know it was plenty and worth your money because I didn't finish it. The food at Grill II is really on point. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. The show stopper was the red snapper. They give you a very generous portion for the price. My husband and I also enjoyed our pasta dishes. The decor is modern and great for group pics. This places looses stars because the music was simply just too loud. I have been to Grill II quite a few times and decided to write this review. My friends and I went on a Tuesday night. They have a live DJ and lots of hip-hop/dancehall and afrobeats music! It is loud and club like so if thats your vibe, this is the place for you! We made a reservation because this place gets packed and if you want to eat, you will have to wait with no reservation. The service is "okay". Sometimes the servers do get overwhelmed and it may take a while for them to circle back around to your table. They offer a happy hour wing special which is $.50 a wing! The Hennessey wings sauce is absolutely amazing! Nice balance of sweet and spicy. I think if you ask, they have either blue cheese or ranch, but they don't typically serve their wings with them. The also have chicken and shrimp tacos on the happy hour menu, not sure how much. For dinner, we ordered the brown stew snapper fish with jamaican rice and peas. Finger licking good! Every time I ordered this dish it is a HIT! The fish is about a pound and a half and has a delicious traditional brown stew gravy with whole okra, bell peppers, ginger and onions. Sooooo good! And soooo worth getting! The drink quality has honestly feel off. When they first opened and for months after that, the rum punch was house-made and had a dark rum floater on top, and honestly was delicious! Since then, like many restaurants unfortunately do, because of volume they appear to now take shortcuts and the rum punch is nowhere near the same. Neither are the Mojitos :( I hope one day they go back to the original menu! Drink quality can't really make or break a place. Especially when the prices are the same and perhaps higher now. What I do now is order drinks on the rocks with a splash of something! Definitely still in place to try especially for the food! I planned a birthday party here for my wife and the food and service that we received was A1! The party was happy with food as well. I recently went and had their shrimp and grits! It was VERY good! Everyone was happy with the food selection. All the items were cooked well. No complaints. The server said the mimosas will last 90 minutes. HA I didn't fall for that psychological warfare. Grill II was a great Pre-holiday night out for me and my family! The DJ was giving good vibes and energy as I was still celebrating my birthday . The food we great - we had everything from Oxtail to Rasta Pasta, and Curry Goat. The servers were very nice, and helped with recommendations - she told me there is definitely a tough choice between the jerk chicken and curry goat; but ultimately we landed on the goat. I must say, the goat was very good compared to some other restaurants that claim to be Caribbean lol. We got the mild Rasta Pasta, but get it spicy if you're feeling adventurous! Don't cheat yourself - you have to wash the food down with a good Henny colada! I was skeptical about coming here because of the reviews, but I knew I had to experience it myself to see if it was good or not, I had the Hennessy wings with were 5/5 amazing and then I had the oxtail Rasta pasta and my boyfriend had the lobster, it was soo good the drinks were bomb and the music was the best part! Came here for dinner with my friend to catch up after it was recommended by a co worker. This is definitely not a place to catch up with someone. The music was extremely loud and we couldn't hear one another. The vibes were really nice and we did enjoy the music. Most importantly, we loved the food! My friend had the curry chicken and I had some wings. My friend also had a rum punch but she said it was way too sweet and didn't like it . When doing these "Worst Reviewed" Restaurants, it always saddens me to see 1 or 2 star reviews flooded with "wait times" and never the food nor overall experience and so I made sure to hit Grill 2 on a Thursday when they opened to give them a fair shake and to truly base my review on their food and customer service, as I do with all of my reviews. Being the 1st Customer in, of course I was seated right away and my menu was brought to me, after she asked what I would like to drink. I went with a simple ginger ale and a glass of water. Now I do not see Hennessy Wings often on a menu and since I seen it on their menu, I ordered those for my appetizer and decided to go with their Chicken Rasta Pasta. Everything came out together, roughly under a half hour later for it was made to order and I don't mind waiting in a reasonable time frame. I will admit, though the flavor on my Hennessy Wings was delectable and savory, it was the chew that set me back. Too much chew on my meat and the wings lacked even the slightest crisp to them. Softer than I cared for them to be but the flavor was there and so I was at a crossroads. Now the Chicken Rasta Pasta???? FLAVOR EXPLOSION within my mouth. Creamy with a kick. Cheesy with a punch! The way those peppers blended in with the flavor to really enhance this bowl was superb. Why am I even out here using words like, "superb" I honestly do not know but this was THAT! I couldn't stop eating this dish. I am already looking forward to going back to Grill 2 just to try their other Rasta Pasta options and for this Caribbean Flare that finessed my tastebuds, I AM ALL IN!! This place was an absolute disaster. I would give zero stars if I could. We paid for a vip room they charged $200. It was not a room it was a regular table. We paid in full days before. We spoke to Paul, the owner who arranged everything and assured a good time. When we arrived no one knew what was going on and said they didn't see our reservations. The owner Paul was sitting at the bar listening to the entire conversation of us going back and fourth about our reservations with his staff and did not try to take control of the situation. They tried to seat us in the front of the restaurant at two folded tables! Absolutely not. So they placed us in the area supposedly paid for, one table was clean the other was filthy. We had to ask them to clean it. We paid for a brunch from 4-6 weren't seated and situated until 4:30 and didn't get a menu until 4:45 the menu was completely different from the brunch menu listed online. Service was slow. Paul walked around and checked in on most tables and noticeably avoided ours. They double booked the space we were in and another party came in and started setting up beside us in our area at 5:30 while we were still eating. The experience was terrible we had to rush the cake out and didn't even have them cut it. When we asked for some type of discount they said no. We asked to speak with Paul and he was no where to be found. Eventually the manager spoke with us and all they offered was a $40 discount. I keep trying to give this place a chance. From the outside, it is a "happening" spot that I find aesthetically pleasing. My three experiences have left me with a definitive impression of poor service and subpar food. The first time, the table was not a little dirty but filthy. The second time, the waitress took our drinks order twenty minutes after we were seated. The third time, the plantains did not taste fresh. The food was good but outside of that, spend your money else where. We asked to speak to a manager after half of our table for their food and almost 35 minutes later the other 2 people got their food.
