I came across John W.'s 2020 review while trying to find Tony Griggs' telephone number.
Please do not confuse John' W.'s "Griggs review" with the current (Tony) Grigg's Heating & Air Conditioning in Boiling Springs, SC, (864) 590-8770. Tony's company maintains an A+ Better Business Bureau rating.
I assume repeat customers and referrals make up the bulk of his base. And, I know I've never had a problem with his employees. When they come out for routine H&A service issues and repair, they communicate with Tony and/or the desk regularly.
Tony seems to be a good guy - family-oriented, hardworking, humble, affiliated with charities, including a children's hospital, and fraternal organizations. He also supports the military, and law enforcement, per my experience and conversations with him.
When I told Tony about John W.'s review of his company, he was very disappointed as "Ponytail" had been employed by ANOTHER Grigg's business for a time awhile back.
With that in mind, maybe yelp will reach out and remove John W's post, in the spirit of their guidelines. Computers and social media aren't Tony's strong suit, so he might not respond or comment online.
I was referred to Tony several years ago by a co-worker. She and her husband continue to use him, as do I. If it wasn't for Tony, I wouldn't have had a heat pump without taking out a loan, after my 20+ year-old out-of-date system finally stopped working. I really had no idea of the price range of new heat pumps until I discussed my options with him.
While expressing my self pity, Tony told me about a couple of used ones he had on hand, if I wanted to save money, making a major expense more achievable for me. He also gave me a warranty on the compressor.
That afternoon, Tony and his employee removed the old system, and by early evening they had installed my new-used system. Tony also repaired the rotting floor area from the old unit's coil leak, at no charge. They removed and replaced the outside unit and wiring, and replaced the old thermostat, and those huge air flow tunnel things under my home, all during an unexpected, lingering, summer storm of Biblical proportion.
I didn't expect them to do the installation that day given the time and elements, but they did. Stormy weather was no match for Tony's determination to "get 'er done". read more
