I like how they have nachos (the fake cheese kind) whenever they do, usually Fridays. Grilled items like burgers and chicken sandwiches are good too. I enjoy they salad bar. Lots of options, much cheaper than Whole Foods per lb. price.

Griffin Grill is a hidden gem They serve burritos, burgers, salads, sandwiches and a multitude of ice cold soft drinks along with energy drinks. My all time favorite is a turkey bacon avocado sandwich with my favorite energy drink of all time, a NOS. It's honestly very rare that they have NOS as they are only sold at select locations. Today I decided to get the avocado chicken breast salad and was not disappointed as it was huge! The owner also gave me a side of peaches. (He is very kind and often gives regulars a free side of the soup of the day or fresh fruit!) I have never had an issue with the wait times but I tend to come during off times after 12. But if time is an issue I would say to avoid 11:30 - 12:30 since a lot of people are on their lunch at that time. There's usually plenty of seats outside along with inside.

    Now open!

Griffin Grill recently opened to replace many others like it in the past. There isn't much differentiating this from the ones in recent history, or the long standing Cafe 201 one block away. Griffin Grill offers the standard fare of breakfast and lunch items, but aren't anything deviating from a typical cafe. Breakfast items, such as a breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich and breads. The menu is limited in this aspect and doesn't offer too many egg plates (sorry, no egg white sandwiches). The lunch menu has a bit more options, but offers far less than what you can get at Cafe 201. Assuredly, it's to cut down on inventory costs, but creativity can go a long way with the existing items. It would be nice to offer breakfast/lunch specials, but given they've just opened, this has yet to be seen. For lunch, a typical sandwich will hover around $5.95 - $6.55 and an "entree" costs around $6.55. You do not get anything other than the paltry sandwich, but for an "entree", you can make it a "combo" for $1.00 extra. A combo means you can add a fountain drink with the obligation of purchasing a $3.00 side item. In all, you're looking to spend about $10 for a meal and can spend your dollars at the handful of restaurants just a stone's throw away, which will get you a whole lot more bang for your buck. The food isn't bad, not great and is only a passable amount of food you are served. I would understand the pricing if you received a bit more food, but I feel like the prices are high to cover rent/"convenience". The owner seems nice, but if he is to learn anything about the Griffin Towers clientele, he should know that you need to provide good value for the price and to differentiate yourself from the existing restaurants in close proximity. We don't care about convenience for being just downstairs, since we know how to walk and love doing so. Do this or your business is doomed to fail rather quick, as there are already grumblings about how it's not worth the visit.

Tuesday special: carne asada burrito, chips, and guacamole. Food was warm, price was reasonable, not bad for a quick bite. Placed my order online and picked it up 10 minutes later. Will definitely come back next time I forget to pack a lunch.

    Sooo good!!

I got a mediocre medium iced coffee for $7. I was surprised when I was rung up, I could've gotten the same from Starbucks for even cheaper.

I found the cocktail to be slightly too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good (fragrant and well-balanced). The short ribs were tender and soft, cooked in a perfectly savory sauce with a hint of sweetness, and served over smooth mashed potatoes. The steak was also cooked and seasoned well. We all loved the maple pecan Brussels sprouts. I often find this dish to be overly oily or sweet, but this one was done very well. The Brussels sprouts were well-seasoned with the perfect hint of sweetness and cooked perfectly, not too soft or too crunchy. I will say that the restaurant's lighting was excessively dark. I don't mind dim lighting for ambiance, but it was so dark that I had to lean in close to my food and squint to see it clearly, which felt a bit excessive. Additionally, the green beans were slightly too old and fibrous, although they were cooked well. This was a shame because if they had used younger, fresher green beans, it would have elevated the dish and paired much better with the well-prepared meat. Overall great experience and would definitely come back! :)

And I truly believe that they are not really made out to be a full-service restaurant as much as I like their dedication and drive. I had a reservation at 7 pm. I checked in at 6:45 pm. At 7:25 pm, they brought us in and did not have a table ready for us. They made a table then after a table left 15 minutes later, they rearranged us. I do not understand why you offer reservations if you will not actually honor the system. Around 8 pm, we asked if we could order as they had only brought water. Listen I understand. You're closing soon. You only had 1 server for the entire restaurant the weekend of Valentines. You have to go lean on the busiest last weekend ..? I don't actually understand. When all came to, they were not offering dessert because "they were saving it for Valentine's Day". No notification about when their kitchen closed and no asks if anybody wanted to order for to-go. On top of that, everyone did not have free parking and had to pay upon exit even with validation. You will do great as a ghost kitchen since the food was good and everyone enjoyed it. If you come back as a full service, I would seriously reconsider how you do business.

I ordered the steak and eggs, berries and cream Matcha, and the cookie dough banana bread. My total was about $45. Steak & eggs: 8/10; these portions were big and perfect. The steak had flavor. Tater tots were crispy. Sourdough bread was soft but crunchy on the outside. Eggs were over easy. Berries & cream matcha: 8.5/10; I actually really enjoyed this Matcha. Not sure why it came in a smaller cup than what my cousin ordered, but maybe because I said light ice? I think that is something that should have been mentioned to me that I would get a smaller cup. Otherwise, I liked this matcha a lot. Cookie dough Banana bread: 9/10; this was so good, so soft, so fresh. The only thing I wish is that I would be able to taste more of the cookie dough. I was a bit confused where the cookie dough was at in this banana bread. There were times where I did taste it, but I wasn't too sure. However, it did have lots of flavor and I would probably get the banana bread alone. Overall, I would return. There was a line formed outside around 10:30 AM, so I definitely recommend getting there early. This was even on a Tuesday morning. So it seems like the line forms no matter the day.

It took a minute to locate the restaurant and figure out parking, but once we arrived at the door, the experience was first-class from beginning to end. The hostess was charming and welcoming, the staff kept our waters filled and the table spotless, and our server, Juan, was outstanding. His knowledge of the menu, detailed descriptions, and personal recommendations made ordering easy and built our anticipation for every dish. We started by sharing the beet salad and Chicken Tinga Empanadas with the Gringo Killer Sauce. The beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, while the empanadas were packed with rich, savory flavor. The Gringo Killer Sauce added a bold kick that made them especially memorable. My wife ordered the wedge salad, my daughter chose the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor, and I had the 8 oz Picanha special. Every dish was exceptional. The octopus was a creative and flavorful take on al pastor, and the Picanha special was perfectly cooked, tender and was an absolute standout. Everything was so impressive that I sent my compliments to the chef and was fortunate enough to meet Chef Jackie personally. Then came dessert. Juan described a peach cobbler special that immediately had my mouth watering, while my daughter ordered the Espresso Crème Brûlée. Juan returned to our table with three plates and spoons and informed me that Chef Jackie has recommended her specialty. I did not argue, Chef knows best. She surprised me by sending out something different: a slice of Baklava Cheesecake accompanied by a scoop of house-made peach cobbler ice cream. Now, I have eaten some outstanding cheesecakes all around the world, but this Baklava Cheesecake was on an entirely different level. It was rich, layered, perfectly textured and flaky, and so unbelievably delicious that I nearly licked the plate clean. The house-made peach cobbler ice cream was equally impressive--light and creamy, yet captured the full peach cobbler flavor. The Espresso Crème Brûlée was also beautifully executed, with a crisp caramelized sugar shell and a deep, smooth coffee-flavored custard. My daughter ate half of hers before turning her attention to the cheesecake, and she does not even like cheesecake. That alone should tell you how special it was. I live three hours away, but I will absolutely be making the drive back. Lemon & Thyme delivers exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, creative dishes, and the kind of personal service that turns a meal into a lasting memory. This is my new favorite restaurant!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Lemon & Thyme. Ask for Juan, trust Chef Jackie, and do not leave without desert. Chef Jackie, Juan and the rest of the staff, thank you for the amazing experience!!!
