I've visited the area for 40+ years, and I'm very happily surprised by how awesome Hampton has become - a destination brimming with hip micro-breweries and great restaurants. Exemplifying this great trend? Gridiron Brewing.
I'll confess that I thought it was the same place, same owner as the best BBQ in the province - Beer Daddy. But they just co-locate in a very cool modern cabin-ish space.
I wrote a rave review of Beer Daddy last year and mistakenly assumed that covered both. I met the brewery's very kind, gracious, funny host of an owner last night and realized my mistake.
This is my fix to that error. And I know, Canadians don't use Yelp much, so this is for the Americans who happen to stop by southern NB.
The beers are very good - nice selection. Plus they host other taps for ciders or sours that complement their own offerings.
There's fun every night. Trivia Tuesdays. Live music the other evenings. We stumbled on an incredible Sea Shanty concert last night. With a very welcoming, fun crowd. Who all made us feel at home, while we sipped great beer and listened to great music, learning about the history of sea shanties as a bonus (thanks, Jerry!).
