It's great to live close to a place like Sea Level Brewing. In the same building as The Port Pub,…read moreSea Level provides their microbrewed beer. With nice range of beer ranging from ales to porter. There is a regular selection of 4 core brews (Planters Pale Ale, Rojo Mojo Red Ale, Blue Heron Extra Special Bitter, and Port in a Storm Porter) with an interesting seasonal beer (the most recent one was Dussel-Port Altbier) to keep things interesting. Brewmaster Randy Lawrence is friendly and cares about the beer that he makes. For locals there are refillable growlers (1 L bottles) and there are individual 650 mL bottles. They also have party kegs if you need more beer. Being able to have locally-brewed beer made with local ingredients is one of the very nice parts of living in a beautiful agricultural area with people who are committed to making great things where they live.

extremely unhappy with my service here. I arrived and asked the woman helping us to tell me a…read morelittle bit about the beers and she was completely clueless about every single one. so much so, that she grabbed the sheet, clearly made for staff use and told me to read it to learn about the beer. They also do not fill any growlers that aren't their own (unheard of for micro breweries.. i consider it a hobby to travel to different breweries and fill existing growlers). She then suggested i could get some different cans BUT didn't tell me they only sell 6 packs of each one. the entire point of a craft brewery is sampling different ones. if the woman serving me had been helpful or friendly that would have compensated for their other short comings.

If you've…read morebeen to the Sea Level taproom in Port Williams (attached to The Port Pub), then you'll want to come here where the beer is brewed. An absolutely beautiful spot on the 221 with LOADS of space to hang out. So much awesome seating from picnic benches to fire pit areas. Lots of grass and it's great if you want to bring kiddos because there's fun games laid out and bubbles at the entrance. Another great reason to sit outside is that they've got lots of sunscreen available at the entrance for you to use so no worries if you forgot yours! The taproom is just another beautiful spot where you can pull up a stool and drink your worries away. It's long and narrow with a few other options for seating so not really great for crowds - you want to take that party outside. Speaking of parties, this is THE place to hang out on the weekends, especially Friday. Check their social media pages to see what's going on and check out the music, food truck and themed event. There's no food here unless you're here on a weekend with a food truck so be sure to eat or pack a picnic first and then head on over to grab some really great beer or cider. We were quite surprised by the delicious summer lime seltzer and I think we found our new favourite place!

Flights of 4 are only $8 and you can do ciders or beers. While the beers and ciders are okay, nothing really stands out at amazing. We were pleasantly surprised by the ginger cider. We expected it to be harsh, especially since it smelled strong, but was surprisingly mild and really good so we picked up a few cans. Almost everything is available in cans or bottle to go and their selection is HUGE so I'm sure there is something for everyone. Overall, a really nice place in a beautiful town. Lots of street parking but this town is super touristy so it can be hard to find a parking spot. Expect to park and walk a little bit most days.

Other than that the place felt cold - a kind of locals place where the few locals there are stiff and uninviting. Tried a flight of the tender's recomendations. The beer was meh. Wheat, rye, wheat, IPA. I was intrigued by the Horton Wheat Rooibus. Not much for wheat beers, but the tea infusion was unusual in a good, but not everyday good, way. In the end I felt out of place there in a mostly empty place. With all the other great choices in Wolfville, I probably will not return.

The staff used to be excited to see us, friendly, patient, kind and open. But the atmosphere has changed completely. It's probably been a year since we have walked into smokehouse and felt comfortable. The staff has become abrasive, rude, and condescending. We have been approached with disgust and apathy, a complete lack of care and the atmosphere is not what it was in 2022. We have given smokehouse chance after chance chopping it up to "a bad day for the staff" but after our last interaction it's become clear that smokehouse is not interested in their average client and more interested in catering only to the big parties. Smokehouse has turned from being a small town pub to a bar only interested in their bottom line and unless you're one of their few regulars you can expect to be treated as such
