After waiting 15 minutes, I cancelled the booking, and re-booked it. This was for premium services. I was assigned the SAME driver who did not respond to the advanced reservation, but this time I could call her. I asked where she was and was she in fact going to honor the pickup. She got more than a little defensive. We had several bags and the driver was little help getting them into the large SUV. The driver broke a nail and complained in the process. She eventually arrived, and we got to the airport 45minutes later than the original booking. I am not impressed. On the list of reasons/problems, the driver being a no-show does not appear. Wonder why?

This is information that would have been really useful to us at 5am on a Monday morning when we arrived at the address given by Amtrak of where to catch our train. At least on the day we went, the inside of the building did not open until 10am, according to a sign taped by the door. We promptly went back to our car to drive up the road, toward the trains we could see on the tracks, to see if there was a more station-y station further along. And then we drove back. Luckily this time there was another woman who said she had taken the train before, and we were in the right place. The building looked really nice, through the windows. Luckily the two teenagers I was with were not traveling alone, cuz that was a freaky start to our trip. The train ride itself was great. While there seem to be plenty of horror stories about trips gone wrong, we had an uneventful ride to Chicago, and then at the end of the week, back again. With all that said, we would recommend this as a great form of transportation to Chicago and back. But we also would have loved to know we were catching the train at an abandoned building before we arrived. Just sayin.

The person was nice enough and said sure no problem, but we should make it 5:45 AM since Detroit traffic can be so bad. Great! Got a confirmation text and seemed all good. Well come 5:48 AM this morning and no taxi, no call. I called them, and the person said he would call the driver. Then he texted he is on his way and it would be 10 minutes. The drive then call a few minutes later and said it would be 30 more minutes. I texted the dispatcher the what the driver said and I need a taxi now to make my flight! The dispatcher then texted sorry, please take Uber, the driver got a flat. Signed up for Lyft, and honestly that is way cheaper, with bad service and higher prices I don't know how taxi companies will stay in business.

Will was up for the drive and provided us with an excellent experience. His vehicles are clean, comfortable and well maintained. I am a person who gets car sick easily and found his driving to be excellent and safe at all times. We've used him for an airport pickup as well and he was on time, assisted with luggage, and communicated perfectly before and on the day of pickup. When our flight was cancelled he accommodated a last minute change without any issues at all which really ease the stress of an anxiety provoking situation. I called him because I live in Novi, my car is down, and I need a ride to Henry Ford hospital Thursday morning. I called him to find out if he could do it, and he told me that he doesn't make local runs. If he doesn't do local runs, then he should not say that he's a Novi/Bloomfield cab or taxi service. That would be false advertising. I regard that as unprofessional. If he no longer does local runs, then he should state that he does not do local runs.

We were right by the stop, so she pointed it out. Then on my most recent trip, which involved two overnights, unintentionally (as a result of the Crowdstrike IT fiasco, which knocked out multiple airlines' systems), I had occasion to take the bus. I will say it is not the easiest to find. That is user error. At McNamara, the larger terminal, a Delta hub, the stop is not with the other ground transportation. It is on level 3, departures, at the far end, where Air France and WestJet are located. They explain that in the email. But it is not specified in that manner on the website. The most important thing is: departures, Air France. If you go to that counter and leave out of Door 1, you will be right there -- a set of signs, one for this service, confirms it. The bus itself was fast enough it hardly matters whether it is luxury. It was thirty minutes from the moment the driver got underway to the moment he pulled to a stop. This bus also is cheap. I am frugal. I don't mind the word cheap; I believe it is a virtue to be economical. Probably fewer than a dozen riders were on board. They all had luggage, and most of them opted to have the driver stash it underneath. In the States, buses are stigmatized. People say that out loud. When I am spotted on the bus, or when someone who makes good money learns I ride the bus, they express surprise. They do that explicitly, revealing their own bias even if it is couched in terms of I didn't think of you as someone who rode the bus. So I endorse this bus as an option for reaching downtown Detroit. I encourage the usage of the bus in general as well.
