Perfect spot for breakfast! If you're lucky, you can grab the street parking right outside of the place. They had a great playlist going that featured older hits and newer indie songs. Sat by the window that had a bunch of pillows. Had an amazing bowl of oatmeal topped with berries and bananas. Being from NJ, I also felt the need to get some actual scrapple - very pleased. I went here with a close group of friends for brunch. We had to wait about 15 minutes even though the restaurant seemed empty. Very small place. Would not recommend if you're looking to be seated right away for a big group (i had 5 people in my group). Once we got seated, it was very crowded. Overall presentation of the food was great. Taste was good as well. There wasn't much to critique about the food. Prices are reasonable as well. The only downside about this whole experience at Greg's was the wait time. You lost a potential of atleast 8 people waiting for a table plus who ever they will go on to tell about the treatment they just endured. If you don't want people waiting inside advise them at check in. Don't yell at them. FYI I was already sitting down. Those people didn't return because you had 3 empty tables after they got run out. Although the service was peculiar, the food was very tasty! The Smokey Sammy and Sloppy Brekky were great, and the price range was very affordable! ($5-$10 per item) The Smokey Sammy was a hefty breakfast sandwich served with 2 fried eggs, a sausage patty, mozzarella cheese, and sriracha on a brioche bun, with a side of tater tots. Portioning was great - I even had to take home some of the tater tots (which were also delicious). The Sloppy Brekky was pretty much delicious layers of scrambled eggs, cheese, and sloppy Joe filling served on top of tater tots in a bowl. So good! The coffee was not that great, but it did its job and refills were included in the $2.25 price. That being said, the service was a bit odd. After patiently waiting for about 45 minutes, we got a text letting us know the table was ready. (It was prime brunch time, so we didn't mind waiting, especially since there are plenty of shops on Main Street to peruse in the meantime.) When we got in, we were seated at a table next to a work station, while a larger table next to us was kept for a party of 3 or 4 that hadn't arrived. The amount of space between us and that table, as well as the space between that table and the next one in the row was about the width of the table, while the space between us and the work station was only about 1ft. When I moved our small table about two inches further from the work station so that my elbows wouldn't touch the work station (complete with dirty rags and cleaning supplies), one of the waitresses came over, grudgingly mumbled something, and pushed the table back. This didn't seem to make much sense to me, as I've been in countless restaurants where it's perfectly fine to have 6-12 inches between tables and personally, reflecting on my years working in numerous restaurants (from casual to fine dining), I don't think anyone I worked with would put so much space between tables while having the last table in the row sit right next to a cleaning/POS station/cooler. Even if the waitress was OCD, she could have relieved the unevenness of spaces between tables by moving the other table an inch away from us. Also, during our meal, one of the other waitresses spent the majority of the time standing at another work station with three almost-empty ketchup dispensers, trying to get every last bit of ketchup from one into the other, then re-filling only the completely emptied dispenser with ketchup from their stock. I thought to myself that if the goal was to refill all 3 ketchup dispensers, it would be more efficient (and sanitary) to just refill each of the 3 dispensers with their stock... but that's just me. Overall, the food is good enough for me to come back if I don't get seated right next to dirty cleaning rags again. read more

I got the french toast with bacon. It was your basic texas style french toast dusted with powdered sugar and served with a side of syrup. I also got a side of bacon. My bacon was hard and very overcooked. My boyfriend got a sort of egg bowl, I forget the name of it. Tasted like your average omlet with potatoes. Another thing. This place is so tiny so expect a long wait. We had to wait about 30minutes which I didnt 100% hate because we went across the street and had a starbucks while we waited. They text you when your table is ready. When I go out to breakfast or brunch I typically expect average because breakfast food is...well...average. Some places Ive heard about go above and beyond for their brunch menu. This place is not one of them. read more

Yum! This is a solid brunch spot. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 25 minutes for a table. You are able to put your name down and then leave the restaurant until your table is ready. It's nice to not have to wait at the restaurant since there is not much space inside and it gets hot outside on days. Parking: You can find some metered parking but there is also a public parking lot just around the corner that is $1/hr. Food: -Challah french toast with strawberries and bananas (3/5): I didn't think the french toast was anything memorable. It was dense and dry. I ordered it because the yelp pictures looked good, but unfortunately it looked better than it tasted! I had high hopes for the french toast. -Smokey sammy (4/5): This was sooo yum! The brioche bread was fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. Everything in the sandwich blended well. The tater tots were GREAT! If you are ordering food that does not come with a side of tater tots, please do yourself a favor and order them! A MUST HAVE! Overall, this is a great spot for brunch. A great little gem that I discovered last year and then returned to again recently when visiting Bryn Mawr for a second time. The breakfast is simple and very straightforward. Pancakes are delicious! Very good, reliable breakfast option toward the end of Main Street in Manayunk. The prices reflect that of a more small town deli or diner, which was pleasantly surprising since it's technically still in Philadelphia. You can't find these sort of prices at this quality near Center City if you had a time machine! So expect the usual breakfast fare at a good price and a nice hearty side of tater tots. Certainly the best brunch in Manayunk and the best value as well. It's a quaint restaraunt on the far end of main street that seats about 20 people. On a weekday you should be fine finding a seat but on the weekends expect a wait. The coffee is always fresh and the server's are always attentive at keeping your cup full. Expect whatever you order to come out timely and plated perfectly. They have fantastic options for omelet toppings, mushrooms, peppers, tomato's, onions, spinach, broccoli rabe (delicious), and about six different cheeses. Every item on the breakfast menu is under $10 so it's certainly affordable and Yelp offers 7% cash back when you pair your credit card. The space is small and hot. The servers are rude to me whether it's call over the phone or in the store picking up. Someone brought me their pancakes before and they are very good. I went back a few weeks later for another order of pancakes. I was told an hour wait over the phone for my short stack of pancakes, I said ok. I arrived about 10 mins early and the workers seemed to be scrambling and a lady told me "oh you're early." I said I know I just want to pay now. THEN she asked me if I can wait outside (there isn't enough room to stand in there). Overall I didn't feel welcomed and the staff wasn't friendly, from cook to server. Called over the phone a weeks after that (today) for pancakes. I asked what the total was and got told "I don't know, I'm not in front of the register." Girl what?? I respond with "ok I'd like the total" so she proceeds to give it to me 30 seconds later ($14). Was told a 20 min wait i say "ok thanks!" She hangs up in my ear. We came by on a rainy Sunday for brunch. After putting our names down, we got a recommendation for coffee down the street while we waited (Vola) and when we returned about 25 minutes later, our table was ready as soon as we walked in! We decided on the special French toast (pineapple-coconut, a twice yearly option) and the South Philly Brekky bowl (eggs with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe, onions, etc on tots). The wait for food was a little longer than our wait for the table, but when you have your person to wait with, and a coffee to tide you over, you marvel at the small operation's ability to serve 9 tables more than you get annoyed/hangry. Finally the food arrived. The egg bowl was decent but our mutual favorite was the French toast. Boyfriend usually doesn't like coconut but he cleaned up the plate as well as I did, saying that the flavors were balanced and the flaked coconut was soft and delicious. Meanwhile, I contemplated buying a small slow cooker so I too could cook pineapple for French toast! This is a special that could happily return a little more often! We'll be back! Edit: we came by again this weekend, and enjoyed the Beefy Brekky and the Banana Nutty Nutella French Toast (we're a fan of the specials!) and both were amazing! I went for Saturday breakfast with my son. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival in the tight but cozy dining area. The menu was good, solid breakfast fare. My son had the Smoky Sammy which he said was excellent. I had the creamed chipped beef which was perfectly done. Not loose and not fluffy, but just right. The restaurant itself is very cozy, seating MAYBE 30 people at most, so you'll either want to get here a little early or be prepared to wait outside (there is literally nowhere for you to wait inside). My friend and I were lucky enough to grab a table that had just been cleared at around 10:45...positive signs. I opted for the simplest Brekky, which is tots, eggs, shredded beef, and cheese. I'm a big, big fan of brekkies in general, and this one was also tasty; however, after a while, the texture and flavor started getting a little monotonous. Once I added in some hot sauce, it livened up the bowl again for me to finish. I still enjoyed my Brekky, don't get me wrong - I would opt for one with a little bit more sauce next time to jazz it up a bit. We had to wait 20 mins to be seated but we just sat out on the benches out front. They sold out of the French toast Challah bread. Ugh!!! So we got the original French toast which was not good at all tasteless and soggy too soggy for my liking also got a side of scrambled eggs which was a little over cooked. The best part was the tater tots and side of seasonal fruit. Looking for a cheap eat well this will be the place. It's cute and reasonably in prices. Decided to stop by here before taking my car to the shop to get work done. In the Philly area for awhile on a job contract and had a 9am appointment for car servicing and decided to grab some breakfast. Saw and read the reviews and were quite impressive. This is a small eatery spot in the Manayunk section of Philly. Very nice a hippie spot. Ordered a spinach, tomato and cheddar omelette with multigrain toast. It also came with tator tots which were pretty delicious fried and seasoned just right. The omelette was delicious and was definitely light on my stomach. Not an overly huge omelette as you would see in other places being that it's a 3 egg omelette. The coffee I had with my breakfast was pretty good as well. Forgot to ask where the coffee is from but it definitely not what you are accustomed to drinking in terms of Starbucks or Dunkin.
