Be that as it may Dr Morledge has on occasion in the past failed to appear for a virtual appointment with me without recourse. I find his arrogance to be a direct result of my not subscribing to his "premium" concierge service that appear to prioritize those who are willing to pay a monthly fee for premium access to his medical service as as a Dr. Those that were previously long term patients of Dr Morledge have to fork out thousands of dollars if they want to stay as primary care patients. For those who don't subscribe they can either be seen by Bondo or go elsewhere. Private Equity can be seen as limiting access to good healthcare to those that can afford it

Dr Wilbert Maniego is my mother's PCP…read more He is a great doctor and an even better human being. I state this based on my very frequent dealings on behalf of my Mum( I am her health care proxy) plus encounters and experiences with multiple physicians and offices here in Nassau County, New York since March 2019. 1) He is a straight shooter. He does not sugarcoat anything. He does this in a calm way where the patient ( even if a nonagenarian) gets it. 2) He really cares. He spends quality time I mean 25 plus minutes sitting eye to eye with the patient and really having a conversation about the patient's overall well-being. He ensures that all questions about everything and from everyone( including accompanying family) are answered. I love this. This is refreshing in 2022. 3) He answers his cell phone. Grateful that when we had an emergency on a Sunday during COVID, he picked up his cell and spent some quality time helping. 4) He came to visit my mother at Northwell LIJ in August 2019 when she had surgery. 5) His staff is fantastic, just like him. Mom came to visit me in Virginia and New Mexico in 2022 and Elizabeth at the front desk was solid. She was proactive and arranged for a phone consult with Doc and then the required prescriptions to be sent to the local CVS pharmacies in seconds. Shout out to Melvin and Monisha who also work the desk and are very kind and helpful. The office is open Mon - Saturday ( closed Thursdays) and is on Hillside Ave just east of Lakeville Rd. Dr Maniego is a great Doc and a just a good, good man. We are blessed and fortunate.

At my very first appointment, I asked him to examine a few places on my skin that I was concerned about, which took about 5-10 minutes. He informed me afterwards that I would be charged $125 out of pocket, because such an exam does not count as part of a checkup in my insurance plan. He also misheard me and prescribed the wrong dose of a medication that I was already taking at the time. Throughout this first appointment, he appeared underconfident, saying things like "I always wanted to do something creative. Medicine is pretty rote." When I called to get a prescription refill, Dr. Saftchick was on vacation and was using an answering service that told me the doctor on call would return my call in order to refill my prescription, but I never got a call back, even though I spoke with them multiple times. When Dr. Saftchick returned from vacation, he sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy. His receptionist told me that she would take care of having it sent to the correct pharmacy, which she never did. When Dr. Saftchick finally got back to me about the mixup, he said the receptionist never told him about my message and when I said "oh, weird" (because, I don't know, what do you even say?) he said, rudely, "no, it's not weird, the receptionist made a mistake and we're understaffed in the middle of a pandemic." He then told me HE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO SEND A PRESCRIPTION TO A DIFFERENT PHARMACY. So I called the pharmacy and figured it out myself.

I have been a patient of Dr. Abroon for many years and at every appointment he greets me with a…read moresmile and warm hello! Dr. Abroon has all the qualities that are important to me in building a healthy doctor/patient relationship! At the top of my list is that Dr. Abroon is a good listener. He never rushes my appointment and always addresses my concerns, thoughts, opinions and viewpoint. For example, Dr. Abroon will take the time to read an article I clipped from a health newsletter on a subject I felt was pertinent to my care. Dr. Abroon is very knowledgeable, concerned for my well-being, will make referrals when necessary and follow up on my reports. Dr. Abroon is empathetic, compassionate and caring. The staff is always cheerful, efficient and polite. There are times I forget to mention something at my appointment and get upset with myself. But, I feel comfortable calling the office when I get home. I know that Dr. Abroon will return my call and with his calming voice say, "Alice, how are you? How can I help you?" These are the qualities that are important to me!

Echoing the sentiments of some others, as someone who has intimate knowledge of medical billing…read morepractices, Dr. Abroon is unethical in this regard. Here is my experience: I'll start by saying that the staff were friendly and professional, but that is the extent of the positivity here. I have in-network insurance, early 30's, low risk for heart issues and, by choice, just underwent a full ECG and heart stress test with a licensed cardiologist/heart doctor specialist about 6 months ago. 40+ minute wait. Dr. Abroon is NOT a cardiologist. He is a PCP. Yet he insisted, even after I told him and his staff that I just did a fulsome heart exam with a cardiologist, that (1) I pay $250 out of pocket UNLESS (2) they administer an EKG at the start of the visit without having assessed symptoms or risks or heart issues. His staff conveyed that he does an EKG on all his patients, which is medically unnecessary according to a number of medical authorities (see, for example, https://www.aafp.org/family-physician/patient-care/clinical-recommendations/all-clinical-recommendations/cw-ekg.html). Could I have opted to pay $47 to move forward with his EKG? Sure. But on principle this is very clearly a very wrong thing to do. It is not ethical to push an unnecessary medical exam that is costly for an insurance company so he can receive pure financial gain, and again, what's worse is that when I declined the EKG, he gave me the ultimatum that he would otherwise charge me a whopping $250 out of pocket. After I raised all these issues with Dr Abroon, he declined to proceed with our visit. Dr. Abroon's practice is patently unethical, and calls to question whether he has tendencies to conduct his practice this way more broadly. I encourage you to avoid this place. There are plenty of providers in the city that are upstanding.
