From the beginning, Ron was outstanding! He was very responsive to my emails, took the time to listen to my ideas and concerns, and genuinely cared about understanding my parent's needs. When planning renovations for your parents, you want to work with someone who understands that it's about more than just a construction project. You want a space that works for their needs, improves their comfort, and makes their home more functional for years to come. Ron did an excellent job translating our vision into plans that reflected exactly what we were looking for. His professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and willingness to listen made the entire process so much easier. He was easy to work with, responsive when I had questions, and committed to helping us achieve our goals. I highly recommend Ron and Plan and Permit to anyone looking for architectural plans for a home renovation. EZ Plans helped guide me through the very detailed process of planning, designing and obtaining permits from the city (LA) for an additional dwelling unit (ADU) in my backyard in Northeast Los Angeles. Michael Song, his architect colleagues and the EZ plans team aided me through every step, and even when the permitting process was difficult, they were very attentive to working out all the issues and making sure that my project was on the right path to coming to fruition. We worked together on this ADU during the pandemic which posed even more challenges, but EZ Plans made the process, like it says in their name, easy. I am just a couple weeks away from breaking ground and I am beyond thrilled to see the vision that EZ Plans and I put on paper come to life. If you want an architectural group who will be committed to your project in an efficient and honest way, while offering their services at a very competitive price, EZ Plans is for you.

There has been a huge shake up there with one of the main partners leaving under very atrocious and shocking circumstances with the other partners We got stuck in the middle because not knowing this individual no longer worked there, we emailed him at his EZ Plans email address. That's when the yelling and threats began from Mark at EZ Plans. After being yelled at and screamed at, we decided the client relationship had been irreparably damaged and that we could no longer work together. We reviewed the contract and deliverables and determined that only 2 of the 5 had been delivered. That means 60% was not delivered. In an effort to part amicably, we asked only for a 50% refund of the money as we will need to spend it with another firm but were told the money was non-refundable. Next they formally terminated the relationship (which we had already done) but kept my 80 year old mother's money. My 80 year old mother has now filed a small claims suit asking for a full refund along with punitive damages.

We had a vision, and Mike brought it to life!…read more We've tackled our fair share of remodel projects over the years, but nothing quite prepared us for the leap into a complete, ground-up ADU build. We knew this wasn't a project to hand off to just anyone, we needed a true expert, someone who could steer us through every twist and turn with confidence. That's exactly what we found in Mike. From our very first meeting, Mike had a calm, reassuring presence that told us we were in good hands. He listened closely to our vision, asked the right questions, and laid out a clear path forward that immediately put our minds at ease. And trust us, our minds needed easing, we came to him with a steady stream of nervous, sometimes repetitive questions, and he never once made us feel like a burden. He answered every single one with patience, warmth, and genuine reassurance. Communication was a true highlight of working with Mike. He kept us updated at every stage, so we always knew exactly where things stood. What could have been an incredibly stressful, all-consuming process instead felt manageable, even exciting. He also took the reins on coordinating with city inspectors throughout the entire build, handling all the back-and-forth so we didn't have to lift a finger. That alone lifted a massive weight off our shoulders. And the icing on the cake? He finished the entire project ahead of the estimated timeline, without ever cutting corners on quality or care. If you're on the fence about a big build like this, let us save you the trouble: call Mike. He turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one we're genuinely grateful for, and the final result speaks for itself. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

It was open, modern and made for entertaining. We just didn't know whether anyone could deliver it. Mike did. He redesigned the whole layout around how we live. Today it's a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with an open floor plan, a real laundry room and the ensuite master we always wanted. Every time I walk through it, I'm amazed at how different it feels. One thing that set Mike apart was the 3D renderings. That was a step above what we expected. We could see the layout before anything was built, and Mike could make any adjustment we asked for with seeming ease. We reviewed the changes quickly and landed on the perfect layout. We never had to guess what the finished home would look like. We were nervous about hiring a contractor. We'd heard the horror stories about unreliability, poor work and overpaying. Mike put those fears to rest early. He listened closely, answered every question patiently, and never made us feel like we were asking too much. We felt like partners with him, not just customers. He cared about the outcome as much as we did, and he kept working until we were happy. If you have a vision for your home and need someone who can design it and build it, call Mike. He was a blessing to work with, and we now have our dream house. We were so impressed with the process that we immediately started a 1000sqft ADU with MDM that was just completed. We recommend him without hesitation.
