History
Established in 2011.
Daniel Ziese began practicing architecture in 2008 under the name Daniel Ziese Architect, taking on residential and commercial projects throughout Los Angeles while building hands-on expertise in LADBS permitting, zoning entitlements, and construction administration. In 2011, the practice incorporated as Ziese Architecture, Inc.
Over the following decade, the firm developed deep expertise in adaptive reuse — repositioning warehouses, industrial buildings, and historic structures into new uses — alongside continued residential practice in custom homes, remodels, and ADUs.
Today the firm has genuine depth in both complex existing-building work and high-end residential design. 200+ completed projects across residential, commercial, institutional, and adaptive reuse sectors. Active fire rebuilds in Altadena, Malibu, and Pacific Palisades. DBE/SBE/MBE certified.
Meet the Business Owner: Daniel Z.
Daniel Ziese is the founder and Principal Architect of Ziese Architecture, Inc. He's a licensed California architect (#C32234), AIA member, NCARB certified, and LEED AP BD+C — bringing 24 years of experience across adaptive reuse, specialty facilities, complex LADBS permitting, custom homes, and post-wildfire rebuilds.
Daniel began independent practice in 2009 after leaving Bundy Finkel Architects, then incorporated Ziese Architecture in 2011 and moved into the historic Brewery Arts Complex in Lincoln Heights. Since then, he's led the firm through 200+ completed projects — including 101 Cider House, The Revery, Family Industries, Stronghold Climbing Gym, Marza Animation Planet (Sega), MR CHOW Dubai, and the Malibu Woolsey Fire rebuild.
He's known for taking on complex, code-challenged sites — historic warehouses, change-of-use conversions, fire-damaged properties — and turning them into permitted, buildable, high-performing spaces. Free feasibility consultations available.
