Dr.Miller was great. Thank you so much for finding the solution to my dry eye problems…read more As soon as I got there I was greeted with a smile and I did not have to wait like other doctors. I waited maybe 2minutes before i saw Dr.Miller :) He was so informative and knowledgeable about the issues with my eyes. I highly recommend this office. Best office I have been to in town. Also if you are looking for eye prescription and glasses they have them here too.

Dr. Miller has been my OD for the past 4 years. Initially when I came to him from another office I…read morewas having issues with my contacts. The ones I had been living with for years caused me discomfort and good vision wasn't a daily occurrence. The problem was mainly due to my high astigmatism. My previous OD couldn't help me and didn't really seem to try. Dr. Miller tried several different lenses with me until we found a good fit. Contacts had never felt so comfortable and my eyes weren't nearly as irritated as they had been before. Because they fit better I could also see much better. He made it clear to me that contacts weren't the best option for me due to my high astigmatism but that didn't stop him from doing everything he could to make it work. We also discussed other options like LASIK and other refractive surgery. I was always very interested in this and he answered all my questions, gave me every option available and left me with pricing. At the time the only option for me was a contact lens implant. The cost of this was very high and not an option I felt comfortable with. A few years later he mentioned the technology has improved since our last discussion and I was now a candidate for PRK (a type of refractive eye surgery). He gave me the pricing, answered my long list of questions, gave me realistic expectations and three weeks later I had the surgery. I couldn't be happier now! I see better than I ever have. Dr. Miller is a great OD. He seems to genuinely care about his patients and spends all the time needed with you to get the best results. In the four years I've been his patient I have went from having almost blind and miserable feeling eyes to seeing and feeling better than I ever have before.

The offices are conveniently located right on China Grade Loop. What I like about this location, which he shares with North Bakersfield Dental group, is that you can park out in front on the street and just walk right in the front door and you're there. With doctors that have offices in the major medical complexes there is always the hassle of parking, walking down long hallways and taking the stairs or elevators to get where you're going. This is so much more convenient. They share not just the building, but the waiting room with a dentist's office. There is plenty of seating, a flat screen television, and sports memorabilia to entertain yourself with while you wait. There is even free wifi (they have the password posted inside) so you can surf the internet while you wait - and a fountain in the waiting room. My boyfriend has always been happy with his medical care here. On this particular visit, we were here so that he could get the side pieces of his eyeglasses readjusted. They ushered him into the back and had him back out front in under 5 minutes. Best of all, they didn't charge him for the service. It's getting to be about time for me to get my eyes checked again and get a new prescription, and once I confirm that they take my insurance I'll be heading back here myself.

I'm in my 60s and had been wearing glasses for decades--reading glasses, distance glasses, you name…read moreit. I had accepted that it was just part of aging, but I really wanted the freedom to see clearly without constantly reaching for my glasses. A friend recommended Luxor Eye Institute, and I'm so glad they did. From the moment I walked in, the experience felt first-class. The staff is warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. Dr. Kouchouk took his time explaining all my options, and we decided on the Light Adjustable Lens. What stood out to me was the level of precision. The idea that you can actually "fine-tune" your vision after surgery is amazing--and it truly works. After my adjustments, my vision is better than I can ever remember. I can read, drive, and go about my day without glasses. It honestly feels like turning back the clock. This was one of the best decisions I've made for myself. If you're on the fence about cataract surgery or want the absolute best outcome, I cannot recommend Luxor enough.

My mother was seen by Dr. Amr Kouchouk in January and was scheduled for cataract surgery in April…read more She obtained medical clearance in March, which was faxed to Luxor Eye Institute as instructed. On the Friday prior to her scheduled surgery, I called to confirm the procedure time. I was routed to a call center and informed that a message would be sent to the surgery coordinator to return my call. I did not receive a response. On the Monday morning of the scheduled surgery, I called again and spoke with Monse, who advised that confirmations were not yet available but that she would call me back. She also instructed me to follow up if I had not heard back by 4:45 PM. I called again at 2:00 PM and received the same response. At 4:00 PM, I was told the surgery coordinator was unavailable but would return my call. After still not receiving any follow-up, I called again at 4:45 PM and was finally able to speak with the surgery coordinator, Cassandra. At that time, I was informed that my mother was not on the surgery schedule. I was further advised that no authorization had been obtained from her insurance, and that the office staff had left early the previous Friday. Cassandra stated that she was unsure what had occurred and offered to reschedule the procedure. This situation is extremely concerning. My mother had been scheduled for surgery for three months, and despite submitting the required medical clearance, no authorization was ever requested from her insurance. This represents a significant breakdown in administrative processes. I requested to speak with a manager, and was connected again with Monse. She acknowledged that she had not verified the surgery schedule. This experience has been both frustrating and stressful. Coordinating care for my parents requires careful planning, and this lack of communication and follow-through has caused unnecessary disruption not only for me and my brother, but also for my mother, who was fully prepared for her procedure

However, things have changed since West Coast Eye Care took over. The phone staff are rude!! The wait time is absurd! Patients are being doubled booked or more for the same time slot leading to wait times of 2 hours or more. The staff want to communicate via text, you have to request for them to call. I was recently informed, via text that my appointment with Dr Walia had to change. I spoke with a young woman via phone call who rescheduled my appointment. I called back to confirm that I would be seeing Dr Walia, and informed that I would be seeing his MA. Staffed was informed that the appointment needs to be with Dr Walia. My appointment was rescheduled for 8:45 a.m., however, I was told that it would be a 2-3 hour wait!! The poor communication by staff, scheduling patients with other providers without informing patients, and multiple patients bookings for the same time slot is problematic. My next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau and Compliance with West Coast Eye Care!

I come here with my dad for his appointments. He has anxiety issues and his blood pressure goes up whenever he sees a new or different provider. I'm just concerned about thats why we're stucked at this office. If i don't have to consider that, we would have changed provider a loooong time ago. If you have a choice and you have other options , find a different place that's professional enough to respect your time and schedule the same way as you respect theirs. And an advise to patients stucked at this office for some reason, bring stuff for you to do while you're waiting in your car and don't make any other appointments same day after your set appointment with this office coz you'll definitely be late for your next appointment. Ive learned the lesson the hard way when i mad another appointment for my dad 3 hours after his appointment here and still didn't make it to his cardiologist appointment across town....And be ready to wait in your car just to be safe instead of waiting in a crowded waiting room for hours. Take care of your own health and safety especially when this office isn't concern of anything else other than themselves .
