Beware of this dental office, I was referred by my dentist whom I've spent 30 plus thousand with to this dentist for a root canal. The lady Janet at the front was rude from the start and I should have never went her just from attitude from filling out paperwork to stealing 295.00 from me. I was never quoted a penny for the referral and I was only quoted for a root canal. The dentist spent 5-minutes with me and said it's better just to do an implant on the tooth because he said he cannot do the work on the tooth. I should not have been charged when there was zero work done and I was never given an estimate just for a consolation! Beware do not use this company!!! read more

Dr. Roda has done at least two root canals on me and I just can't say enough good things about him and his staff. The office is clean, attractive and easy to find. Dr. Roda has a great bedside manner and is very personable and friendly. I felt very at ease with him and not overwhelmed or anxious. He's highly experienced and his confidence is well earned. He does great work and I highly recommend him if you need this sort of thing done. I've had a ton of dental work over the years and am so nervous about needles I always choose IV sedation to knock me out for dental surgeries. Wanted to find a local endodontist other than the one I had used before. Went to Dr. Roda for a consultation, and he gave me all kinds of negative scenarios that might prevent him from completing the root canal I needed. I felt I had not too many options, and a friend had used him and said he was ok. Went I went back for the procedure, he didn't remember me or the conversation we had had before. This did not inspire confidence at all. Why else would a dentist take notes after a consultation I PAID for if not to have the information there when I came back??? But I was there. I have been to a lot of dentists, and I requested topical anesthetic before the injection. He just touched the topical to the gum, and then away he went. It was very unpleasant. He accomplished the root canal in one appointment, thank goodness, because I would not have wanted to go back. So...he charged less than the other dentist in Westlake I would have gone to, but his focus was on being in and out of there as fast as possible. Would I go back? Not unless I had NO choice. read more

I just want to brag on this place a little bit. My daughter needed a root canal on one of her adult teeth and we were referred to 4 different dentists who all said no they couldn't do it. I found Dr. Roda's office and I was hoping that they would be able to help but with 4 denials in one day, my hopes weren't too high. Shelly in the front office was super duper sweet and made me feel like I had found the right place well before the doctor was able to assess the situation. Dr. Roda reviewed the x-rays and said they don't do sedation but would be willing to call in an outside anesthesiologist to sedate her (no other office offered this). I didn't really want to pay the money but you have to do what is necessary. Shelly called me and said we are going to try to get an authorization through your health insurance. Come to find out, the anesthesiologist wouldn't even bill any insurance, everything has to be paid out of pocket. They asked how she would do with laughing gas and I said we could try it. Long story short (well kind of lol), my daughter's root canal was today. Dr. Roda and Monica were communicating everything that was happening to my daughter so she was comfortable. I am so happy all of those other dentists turned us down because I never would've looked into this office. read more

I went to Dr. Roda as my parents had a good experience with him. I had just dealt with a botched root canal that required 3 appointments and no resolution.The treatment was botched to the point that they told me I would likely need to get the tooth extracted after the first appointment (without claiming responsibility). Obviously I wanted another opinion before returning to that dentist. Other reviews said that they found Dr. Roda to not be very personable. I found Dr. Roda to be very personable, but maybe as a nerd I judge differently. He made me feel comfortable. He also explained everything to me very well, what he saw in the tooth, what the potential options are (I had never heard of a root amp etc.) and whether or not he could fix it and he was confident he could. He provided me enough information to not be scared about what the other dentist was telling me. Once the other dentist said he couldn't do anymore, I didn't hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Roda to finish the treatment. The process was pretty quick and without any complications. He caught up to me before I left the building because he noticed something on the x-ray that was caused by the previous dentist and I went back at that moment and they fixed it as a precaution in like 5 minutes. I found the office staff to be pretty friendly and there was no attempt to upsell. I highly recommend. I will never have another root canal done by a dentist again -- always use an endodontist. read more

I needed to have a tooth re-treated as a root canal done by a general DDS years prior had failed. I am a Dental Hygienist, and so knowing what had to be done I was DREADING this. I even had Dr. Roda prescribe medicine to relax me. (Everyone is a wimp when it comes to root canals.) I don't think I even needed it. Dr. Roda' work is effective and painless. Dr. Roda and his staff did a great job. I was in a lot of pain and needed a root canal. The doctor numbed me perfectly and was able to get to a back molar in a small mouth and do all the intricate surgery. His assistant was very professional and nice, too and really knew her job, doing the x-rays and having all the tools and materials ready when he called for them. The front office administrators helped me find the best compensation I could get out of my insurance. I feel really lucky that I connected with Dr. Roda's office because it all went so well, with minimal time or trouble. Two hours afterward, I felt back to normal after a week of pain. I've been seen by Dr. Roda more times than I'd like to share, but he is the greatest ever! I would not allow anyone else to give me a root canal . I'm in the dental field and I've seen bad dentistry and Dr. Roda provides excellent care. He is friendly and charming, but his job is not to befriend everyone that walks in the door. He's booked out for weeks, and that speaks volumes. I prefer competence over small talk. I can appreciate the number of patients waiting to see him, and he is only trying to get people out of pain, one mouth at a time. Two days ago my dentist recommended Dr. Roda to preform a root canal. Dr. Roda's office could not see me for several weeks. Shellie, his receptionist, and I talked further, and she offered me an emergency appointment in a few days if I was willing to wait, maybe even a long time, on that day. I had the day off of work and agreed to wait. During the wait I saw only professionalism and friendliness from the staff in their treatment of me, other patients, and each other. When I was taken back to the treatment room, Dr. Roda and his assistant assisting in my procedure were wonderful. They introduced themselves and chatted a little about their lives and families. They each explained what step in the procedure we were about to begin and what to expect, and many times they checked with me to make sure I was doing fine. The procedure did not hurt, and tonight I am fine with the 2 naproxen sodium pills I took before dinner. Please know you are in excellent hands at Dr. Roda's practice. read more

This doctor does ROOT CANALS (Endodontist). Usually a dentist will give a referal to him. He's efficient and a man of few words but he gets the job done. I'd probably like it if he talked to the patient a bit more. Does not use nitrous but is fast. Root canals are done (usually) at in one session. Takes on emergencies daily, so they fit you in as needed. read more

No one wants to go to an Endodntist because it usually means you've got problems, but if you have to go, Dr. Roda is the guy to see. Dr. Roda has done several root canals on me (both molars with multiple canals and single-canal teeth. He makes it look effortless almost like getting a simple cavity filled. I have never had any complications from any of the work he has done. The appointment times are scheduled well. I have never waited past an appointment time. The work he does is done in a timely manor. His appointments understandably take a little longer since they have to numb you up pretty good for a root canal. Dr Roda's personality is a little different than most. He is definably a down-to-business type of dentist. You won't find him chatting you up on your visit. He's very technical about his work. This may come off as sort of inconsiderate, but I find the technical descriptions he gives as he's working on you are informative and help ease the fears that most people associate with root canals. The front office staff are efficient and appointments and insurance billing are done well. You have to remember that most patients are in pain when they call. One downside is that I feel that not all of his office staff are emphatic to this. Overall, if you have the unfortunate need of an endodontist, you strongly want to consider Dr. Roda. You're experience won't be like other horror stories you've heard of. read more

Dr. Roda is an amazing dentist, who was recommended to us by another dentist. We have an 11 year old son, who needed a root canal. I was extremely saddened that at such a young age, he needed to have this procedure done to a permanent tooth. I also dreaded the idea of the pain he would have to go through. Dr. Roda started by taking an x-ray of our sons mouth. I asked hopefully, if there was any way to save the tooth without doing a root canal. He said he would see what he could do. He was able to work on my sons mouth (not an easy feat) and make him laugh. The best news of all, was that he was able to save the tooth, seal it off and avoid a root canal. I cried with joy, it was the best outcome that I could only have dreamed of. Dr. Roda is personable, funny, friendly and extremely good at what he does. We have regular visits with Dr. Roda to see how the tooth is doing, and will be preparing him for the crown he will need. I am so grateful to Dr. Roda, Shelly and his staff for helping our son through this, and would highly recommend him to anyone needing endodontic work. read more

I just finished a long procedure with Dr. Roda--I couldn't be more pleased. What a remarkable energy and demeanor along with a great bedside manner. My problem was really bad and due to old methods in root canals that had gone bad. We took things one step at a time to give my tooth its best chance of healing and saving it. I came to Dr. Roda after my son had a accident were he had his teeth knocked out. Dr. Hudson (who is one of the greatest orthodontics) had recommended Dr Roda and like I'm the worried mother that I am I called the first Dr that answered the phone. NOT A GOOD IDEA. The previous Dr wanted to schedule root canals right away. So I decided to get a second opinion. Well first of all Shelly (office staff) was very helpful and sweet. So we came in for a consult. Let me tell you this Dr is great. Explained that root canals were not recommended at this time. Friendly guy and he does thing very differently. So obviously we are staying with Dr. Roda. read more

I went to Dr. Roda about a year and a half ago after having a root canal done on a molar by my dentist. The root canal my dentist did never got better, and after 6 months, it flared up and he referred me to Dr. Roda. My wife had gone to him about 15 years ago and highly recommended him. Dr. Roda found the problem immediately- my dentist had missed 2 roots, as there were 4. After a week of antibiotics, Dr. Roda did the root canal in a little over an hour. Within several weeks, the pain was gone and the tooth felt so much better. He had me come back in a month for a re-check, and then in 6 months for another re-check. Since the tooth was pretty bad when I first came in, he has had me come back for 2 more re-checks, all at NO COST! He does Excellent work, is very efficient, and know his business. I tell you the truth. He is a good doctor I'll give him that!! I am very upset! The staff person at the front desk had me sign a paper. She said that I was signing a paper that is letting me know that today's visit was a new visit and not part of my last visit. I hadn't been there in over 2 years. Don't go in there without first knowing the price $$$. I was there for only 15 minutes and was charged $190. I was told I was given a discount and that their normal price is $210 for a consultation office visit. You bet I am still upset. My 15 minute visit only included a single tooth X-RAY and maybe a 1 or 2 minute evaluation from the doctor. To be fair my next visit is supposed to be at no additional charge when I return again in 6 months for the same evaluation. I definitely would not have gone in knowing what I know now! It was my first time visiting Dr Roda office and you couldn't ask for a more friendlier staff right all the way through to the Dr himself. I was a emergency patient so I didn't have a appointment and even though I knew I had to wait my time it was well worth it. As their current patients came and went all of them were treated with the utmost respect and smile.
