My weight-loss journey was never about finding a quick fix--it was about creating a healthier life and feeling comfortable in my own skin. If I chose surgery, I wanted results that looked natural. After meeting with Dr. Patel, I felt confident in my decision. We discussed my concerns about loose skin and the changes to my breasts following significant weight loss, and from the very beginning, the goal was a natural result. Dr. Patel is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and highly respected in his field. He has authored and contributed to numerous scholarly publications on breast lifts and augmentations, and his expertise is evident in every conversation and recommendation. If you're looking for a warm-and-fuzzy bedside manner, that may not be what you're paying for. What you are paying for is an exceptionally skilled surgeon who is deeply informed, meticulous, and committed to achieving the best possible outcome. I am now one week post-op and extremely pleased with my results. Everything is healing beautifully, and I am grateful for the care I have received. Ladies, do your research and perform your due diligence. I have always trusted Duke Hospital and its providers to deliver exceptional care, and thus far, they have exceeded my expectations

Trust me, I'm not one of those people that dreamed of having cosmetic plastic surgery growing up, so I worked out like a crazy person trying to get rid of it - but I couldn't tighten up that sagging 2 inches of skin that was hanging over my waistline. After my surgery, 2 years ago now, I was not given drains. I was told (post-op) that that was because I was "dry". To this day, I'm not sure what that means. Following the initial surgery, I had to go back 3Xs within 2 weeks because my body was starting to accumulate fluid in my abdomen area. The nurses drained the fluid as I lay on a table by pressing on my stomach forcing the fluid from a small opening they had to re-cut and re-open to drain. After my 3rd visit, I requested to have drains put in. The drains were removed about two weeks later and I thought everything was fine. It wasn't. I noticed fluid start to accumulate again, but not as much as before. Over time, the fluid hardened and I developed scar tissue. I raised my concerns and I was made to feel like "it'll be fine, just give it some time". I felt like Dr. Erdmann was tired of seeing/hearing me. Well over time, the fluid hardened and I (as a natural born cis male), appeared to be 3-4 months pregnant. The Aesthetic center was contacted and I was seen and had a scar removal surgery at Duke. I requested up-front that the drain be put in no matter how "dry" things may look. I drained for 2 weeks and the drains were removed. Again, I began to develop fluid but this time, it was jelly like. I thought "I'll give it time". I'm pregnant again. I'm going to have to have another surgery (not by Dr. Erdmann) b/c at this point, I am officially botched. I regret having the surgery and had I known this, I would have just lived with the 2 inches of saggy skin. I've been on this journey for almost 2 years now... Things to note: 1. Don't go to Duke Aesthetic Center 2. Don't go to Dr. Erdmann 3. You should plan to have a scar revision surgery whether you have to have it or not, so that any scar tissue can be removed. Most surgeons like to correct the line where they cut you the first time now that your body has had time to adjust and heal. 4. Get your massages after surgery. I was NEVER told about these but these help with the fluid accumulation and cause the fluid to not to harden. I've been told from another surgeon that they are not the most pleasant massages you'll ever have, but you'll want to make sure you have them. Again, I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THIS at the Aesthetic center. The only time I ever met with the Esthetician was to be sold the silagen scar strips. 5. Dr. Erdmann has NO bedside manner. I'm not saying he's rude, it just "feels" like he doesn't care. 6. The nursing staff is great, however, they're not the ones performing the surgery. 7. Do your research!

He completely transformed the…read moreway my breast looked, I had to have reconstructive surgery along with a breast augmentation due to having tubular breast which is a very rare deformity. Surgeons do not come across my situation to often in their career and that's coming from Dr.Stoeckle. After my first breast augmentation we discussed size, I went from an A cup to a C cup. Due to him having to COMPLETELY change the shape of my breast to get me looking "normal",round, and perky a C cup (375cc saline implant) was the max my body could physically hold. During one of my later check ups I expressed to him how I wanted to be bigger and fuller. He then explained to me how tricky I was and the process it even took for me to look as great as I did. He and I both agreed since my skin has had a good amount of time to stretch he could definitely get me to the 600-650cc range. With out hesitation he wanted me to be happy with my results. I didn't want to go anywhere else, I know Dr.Stoeckle would get me to where I wanted to be safely and properly, my body just took time due to my original breast deformity which I kid you not nobody could ever tell I had tubular breast to begin with because he did such an amazing job the first time changing my shape. Janell and Dr.Stoeckle wanted to get me into surgery as soon as they could. I had my second breast augmentation June 28th, 2018 this past Thursday and WOW. That man is such a talented surgeon. He was able to fit 600cc silicone implants. Not only was he able to give me the size I wanted, he loosened some tissue so I would have more cleavage and brought my breast crease up just a few millimeters. On a scale of 1-10 my pain is a .5!!! I am beyond impressed. I'm flat out in love with my breast already, and it's only been 2 days, I can tell from my first augmentation they are going to be dropping so beautifully and be so full! I apologize for the rambling, I am just in awe with how little pain I have and how amazing my breast look! Dr.Stoeckle calls you from his personal cell phone just to chat with you to make sure you're okay! Vacation or no vacation he will call or text you back as soon as he can. Not only is this man such an amazing surgeon he's so caring about his patience and so are all of the nurses, anesthesiologist, and the front desk so kind! Enough rambling but all I have to say is wake plastic surgery was a wonderful experience for me and hopefully you love it as well and decide to have Dr. Stoeckle transform you! I'm happy to say that Dr.Todd Stoeckle did my breast augmentation and I will recommend him to anyone looking to have cosmetic surgery!

Unfortunately, my experience changed completely after that. After my first call, I began communicating with Rachel. I had inquired specifically about a breast augmentation with implants and a lift. After the doctor reviewed my photos, Rachel called and explained that he was instead recommending a different procedure that would cost roughly $10,000 more than what I had originally asked about. I was very clear that I understood the recommendation but still wanted a quote for the procedure I had actually inquired about. Despite repeatedly explaining what I wanted, I could not get a straightforward quote for it. Instead, the conversation continued to revolve around the more expensive procedure they were recommending. The entire process ended up wasting about a month that I could have spent consulting with other surgeons. Being highly rated was one of the reasons I initially felt so confident reaching out, but my experience left me feeling like what I actually wanted was not being taken into consideration. What bothered me most was that liposuction was also brought up even though I had never inquired about it. When someone is already discussing cosmetic surgery and putting themselves in a vulnerable position by sending photos of their body, suggesting additional procedures they never expressed concern about can feel incredibly unnecessary and insecurity-inducing. I completely understand a surgeon making professional recommendations, and I would expect them to tell me if they believe another approach would produce a better result. But there is a difference between making a recommendation and refusing to meaningfully discuss or quote the procedure a patient is actually asking for. Unfortunately, I walked away from this experience feeling unheard, pressured toward a significantly more expensive procedure, and more insecure than I did when I started.

So when…read moreI went into Dr. Blanton's office to discuss my saline implants and how one had deflated recently I knew I was going to choose the least invasive option. Dr. Blanton's office staff makes you feel so at ease. Keely on the phone is so warm and friendly. You feel as if you have known her for a while. When Dr. Matthew Blanton's walked in I felt almost immediately that he is the right doctor to handle my situation. We discussed options for removing the existing implants totally and doing nothing cosmetically and how that would look as i age into my 70s. Dr. Blanton's went through videos of other patients with similar situations and other options which included a breast lift after the removal of the implants. He also offered replacing the implants with new ones and was transparent in the fact that, in the future, there is a high probability that one or both would deflate again and need attention. He spent almost a full hour listening to me, hearing the anxiety in my voice over anesthesia at my age, and truly weighing the best options for my body, age, and current physical health status. Then Summer joined Dr. Blanton's for my physical exam to confirm our pathway forward. I felt so comfortable with my new team that I inquired about extra skin removal in my abdomen area. Whichever way I go with Dr. Blanton's and his team of professionals, just the implant removal with breast lift or add in the abdominal skin/fat fix, I am confident that I have chosen the best doctor to attend to my needs with a team of dedicated health care workers who will see me through successfully from pre-op to post-op and through my rehabilitation. I have now had my breast implant removal surgery and breast lift as of 9/25. I made the BEST choice for sure. My surgery team was nothing short of spectacular. From my anesthesiologist to my care team, every single one of them was experienced and kind. Dr. Blanton has a great and caring bedside manner and his skill as a surgeon is surpassed by none. Thank you all. My post op care was very solid. I followed every instruction and healed perfectly. I am 8 weeks after my surgery and back to my physical regimen. Loving life and glad I had this done at 65 and not 75!
