I had a very therapeutic experience at this practice.I selected the appointment based on reviews and location & availability. The appointment was 3 months out which I felt was reasonable. I had not been to a dermatologist in years plus so I was a little anxious. Right off the bat team check in staff was very cordial professional putting me at ease immediately.Team assistant equally so - just a tremendous caring approach to continue the process preparing for the Doctor. She meticulously made sure my meds and allergies were up to date listened to my concerns.Dr. Kim came into the room- promptly- introduced herself & listened to my concerns addressed them laid out a plan. She acknowledged my thoroughness in what I had done to address my issues. I like that she made me a part of the plan that was concise - gave me a lot of useful information. I was quite impressed.Team check out staff was equally impressive. I could not have asked for a better experience in this realm. A complimentary spacious parking lot with several accessible parking spaces - this location is located near the old South Square mall -quite close to a major interstate & other major routes. Very close to numerous shopping experiences accommodations - restaurants & more! read more

Came to see Dr. Heinly after reading some positive reviews. I booked the first appointment of the day and was in and out in 45 minutes from arrival, with a full body look over and mole removal included in this time frame. Very satisfied with the thoroughness of this office and speed with which they took care of me while also listening to concerns. Could not recommend enough based on this first time patient experience. The office was clean, with free wifi. As I left however, I noticed that the parking lot and waiting room were filling quickly so not sure how the experience would go later on in the day, but they were very willing to accommodate an early appointment due to work conflicts. read more

From reception to the conclusion of my exam, I felt like my concerns were their concerns. This was my first time here. I recently moved from Southern California to Durham. Did I ever pick a great place to go on referral from my daughter. The nurse took a comprehensive history and it was obvious she well briefed Dr. Privette. Dr. Privette was engaging, personable and thorough. I never felt rushed. Prior to moving I had a mhos procedure in my ear that she examined for proper healing. During her thorough exam she found a couple of potential trouble spots that were painlessly biopsied. I'm a very light skinned Irishman and have seen my share of dermatologists. I would rate Dr. Privette among the best! read more

Dr Higgins gave my wife 600mg of Prednisone over 12 days, after she started getting a reaction from topical steroids on her face for what was a cold sore, incorrectly prescribed by another dermatalogist in Cary. This was after he had my wife continue the steroid on her face. Right as the dose of Prednisone was over, her face began to swell up, locking her eyes shut, and this began a hellish two years of agony for both her and me. It went on to be a red and purple rash over her entire face & body, blood vessels bursting on her arms, legs, back, face and her skin leaking ooze, crusting over, intense itching, endless skin flaking, open wounds, no sleep for months, and being stuck in the house for well over a year. I won't share the gruesome photos. The worst part was Higgins' callous, know-it-all attitude, and his insistence that she take MORE steroids. (We found out this probably would have killed her, or given her Cushing disease.) He refused to give her pain relief or something to help the itch or insomnia. He insisted it was a household allergy or eczema (false). He said it was safe, that he gave it to babies (!) He denied it could be what we now know it is -- Topical Steroid Withdrawal. There was a nurse who told my wife "Bless Your Heart" in that passive aggressive southern way. Do not make the mistake of going to this dermatologist or this office, and do not take topical steroid creams without reading more about what damage they can do. NOTE: It has taken 1 year and 9 months of a clean diet, red light therapy, supplements, and acupuncture, but she has mostly beaten it (95%). Without steroids. Without any pharmaceutical industry toxin other than Hydroxycine to help her get through the worst nights. read more

I went here to have 6 small skin tags in my armpits removed. They told me it wasn't billable to insurance, to which I told them I don't have insurance anyway so was prepared to pay out of pocket. They told me it would be $340 (which I thought was a lot, but had been saving up) so went ahead. The whole thing lasted 15 minutes. The Dr simply cut them off with no lidocaine or stitching or bandaging. I showed her a couple other small ones on my eyes and she said she could quickly take care of those too. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I certainly didn't know I was going to be slapped with ANOTHER $180 bill from them. When they called me about the unpaid bill, I told them I had already paid for the 15 min procedure (which frankly I could have done at home). They said "well that's just the going rate" when I told them it seemed odd that a 15 minute "snip" would cost $500. Please avoid this place, especially if you are part of the LGBTQ community. Seems like they think they can get away with whatever they want with marginalized people groups. read more

I showed up for my first visit with Dr Kim after having driven an hour and 15 min from Greensboro for my appointment at 9:00. The receptionist told me that Dr Kim was not in because of a family issue . Someone who works in the office apparently left a voice message as I was in the car she did this from her personal phone . No text , no second or third attempt to get in touch with me - no email . I will go elsewhere from now on - very inconsiderate and unprofessional. read more

Dr. Heinly was supposed to alleviate some discomfort from a corn on my foot. He slipped with the scalpel and cut deep into my healthy tissue. The pain was horrible. My foot was bleeding heavily, but Dr. Heinly left me in the care of his novice, hapless nurse who tried to tape a bandage on my gushing wound. I insisted on Dr. Heinly's return who seemed annoyed. He proceeded to give me an extremely painful shot to numb my foot so he could cauterize the bleeding wound. The pain was excruciating and still is. Heinly carelessly injured me. I had to cancel all my plans, including a trip to the beach, because I cannot walk on my swollen foot. The burning pain from the injury is keeping me up at night. I feel distraught over the fact that I was seeking help from this doctor, and he harmed me severely, instead of helping. After a phone call the next day, he simply recommended I take ibuprofen for the pain. Needless to say, I do not recommend Triangle Dermatology. Go anywhere else. It couldn't be any worse. read more

I've been a patient here for several years now. I used to see Dr. Jolene Jewell, who was wonderful but moved to Greensboro. I now see Dr. Pamina Kim, who is equally wonderful. Dr. Kim has an impressive educational and clinical background. In person, she is friendly, approachable, good at explaining things, and thorough with her exam. She was also up front and apologetic about the procedures insurance does not cover. Just a great bedside manner all around. I am delighted to have her as my new dermatologist. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Tcheung for over 2 years. Friendly, professional & knows "her stuff"! One year I'd consulted an allergist, my PCP, and ophthalmologist for two reoccurring problems. They cleared up within 2days (finally) after Dr Tcheungs recommendations! read more

Dr. Tcheung does not care about providing quality/thorough service -- I have seen her 5 times now and have been extremely unhappy after each visit. I went to her for scar removal. She gave me aftercare instructions while she was removing the scar, always keeps me waiting for over an hour, and spends fewer than 5 minutes with me each time. She clearly doesn't check her notes before seeing me either because she never has any idea what I am there for. I came in for a followup appointment today and she looked at a site that didn't have any surgery and said "Wow, it looks great!".... of course it looks great, I didn't have a scar there -__- She then covered her tracks by saying she thinks I might be developing a scar there as well which clearly isn't true. Will not be going back now that I have been let down so many times. read more

I had a visit with Dr. Heinley this morning. I was very disappointed with my visit. He minimized the issue and was quick to want to reschedule another visit. Minimal actual treatment... My son has also seen Dr. Heinley twice this year to have a wart removed. Each time he's done the minimum treatment and schedule a follow up visit. After spending more than $500 in the last 2 months, none of our issues have been resolved. We just keep making more appointments, spending money, with no resolution. read more

My appointment ran 30 minutes behind, and even aside from that my overall patient experience was fine, but getting my prescription filled was not ideal and I will be switching to a new dermatologist immediately. Be advised that Triangle Dermatology doesn't have an on-site lab (this is the first dermatologist i've ever encountered that doesn't), so if you need any labwork done prior to receiving a prescription medication, you will need to schedule an ADDITIONAL lab appointment at a clinic, and then deal with the clinic to get your results sent to Triangle Dermatology. This added four additional days, an additional hour-long lab appointment, and six phone calls for me to finally get my prescription filled. Since routine labwork is needed to continue with the medication I was prescribed, I will be switching to a new dermatologist so I don't have to go through this again and wanted to raise this issue to anyone considering Triangle Dermatology. read more

I went to the Dermatologist today for the first time ever, and it wasn't a bad experience. I'd had a minor skin issue arise and a friend suggested I go see Dr. Higgens. He was great! He asked a lot of questions, did a thorough exam, explained what could be done for the issue, and sent my prescription directly to Upchurch Pharmacy. He was friendly, and I felt confident that he knew what he was doing. I also really liked the PA that did the prescreening. The new patient check-in process was simple, and everyone I encountered there was pleasant and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. read more

Great team very courteous. Dr. Privette very knowledgeable answers questions. When doing surgical procedures makes sure you are comfortable. She and her team worked around my very busy work schedule to get 6 cyst removed over a 5week period. She was able to remove them without shaving my head, or cutting my long hair. I am highly satisfied with her and her team. I give them 5 stars never had to wait more than 10mins read more

Dr Craig Heinly did a procedure on my wife today. He is an excellent doctor and made the procedure pain free. Highly recommend him and Triangle Dermatology. read more

I saw Dr Tcheung 6/9 to have one of two cysts removed and was scheduled to have the second cyst removed 6/23; however, because I wasn't going to be in town when the stitches had to come out, we (Dr. Tcheung, her nurse and myself) agreed to reschedule the second excision for August. Today, I get a call from her office stating they were canceling my appointment and that Dr. Tcheung refuses to remove the second cyst because...get this...because I reschedule the surgery. And this is after SHE offered and agreed to reschedule it. I can't in good conscious give this practice or Dr. Tcheung a positive recommendation because good doctors don't abandon their patients over technicalities. Very disappointed with Dr. Tcheung. I can't say this loud enough...find a doctor you can trust who has YOUR best interest as their priority. Dr. Janet Tcheung has completely lost my confidence and made me feel like she does not prioritize her patients needs. read more

God awful. I waited for 50 minutes for the doctor who never showed up. I finally left with barely an apology. If I could give a -5 I would. And there was no one in the waiting room! So disrespectful of someone's time read more

While the staff was super nice, if not a bit frantic, my appointment with Dr. Tcheung was a huge disappointment. The rash under my arms was completely misdiagnosed as a bacterial infection, for which I was prescribed an antibiotic. I received no printed information regarding the diagnosis and was informed by my cardiologist that the antibiotic, (Doxycycline) would have adversely interfered with my heart condition. Did she even review the charts I had faxed to the office? Turns out the rash is candida, a yeast overgrowth often caused by antibiotic use. The Doxycycline would probably have exacerbated the problem. Thank the gods they never bothered to call in the prescription to the pharmacy. It might have helped in the diagnosis if Dr. Tcheung actually ran some tests of the infected area, instead of just eying it up. Oh, she did compliment my tattoos. Um, thanks. read more

I've recently started going to Dr. Higgins at Triangle Dermatology, after a somewhat lacking experience at Chapel Hill dermatology. The staff at Triangle are super friendly, from reception to PAs, and Dr. Higgins is a very calm, sincere person who seems genuinely concerned and skilled. I really feel comfortable (as in, there are no stupid questions, etc.), even in the dreaded gown for skin checks. Think I've found my go-to for all things skin related! :) read more

I had previously been to this office and seen Dr. Heinly and that experience was fine. However, after my experience today, I will not be going back. I had to book a month in advance, which is fine, but it means planning work and other commitments around an appointment. I arrived ahead of my appointment time and checked in. 30 minutes past my appointment time, I was still waiting. I saw the receptionist and was told "we are running a little behind but you are next". Shortly thereafter a CNA or nurse brought me to an exam room where I continued to wait for another 15 minutes. I returned to reception to check myself out and the CNA came out to talk to me. She again stated "we are running a little behind". 45 minutes and the doctor still wasn't available for my appointment. When someone takes time off work to attend an appointment, it is unprofessional to continue to brush off their concern about the time they spend waiting. read more

I've been seeing Dr Tcheung for over a year and appreciate her professionalism and care. My family has a history of melanoma, and she was very thorough and took care of some simple pre-cancerous patches on my face. This is a dermatology office that isn't "also" a cosmetic sales operation, which I appreciate tremendously. I was able to get an appointment easily and didn't have to wait months, as seems to be the case elsewhere. read more

Great communication between staff and doctors. Everyone is very friendly and genuinely seems to care. My messages to my doctor were relayed correctly, and I received very prompt responses. I was seen quickly, on time, and Dr. Tcheung spent a good deal of time with me. read more

Was rudely hung up when told I was calling from a non profit. I guess maybe they thought I was soliciting and said "we are not interested" and hung up. I was calling for service for clients but I will not give a company any money that treats people like that. The doctor needs to hire new office staff. They can make or break a place before the doctor even gets in the picture, I can't speak on their behalf because stop services with the doctors because of the staff. read more

I just wanted to say that Chassity at the Oxford office went well out of her way to help me with getting through alot of red tape with my insurance company. All I needed was a simple prescription , but we all got the run around and even hung up on 3 times by customer service reps and it was very reassuring to have someone that actually cared. Chassity is a great asset for Triangle Dermatology. read more
