I had not been to a dermatologist in years plus so I was a little anxious. Right off the bat team check in staff was very cordial professional putting me at ease immediately.Team assistant equally so - just a tremendous caring approach to continue the process preparing for the Doctor. She meticulously made sure my meds and allergies were up to date listened to my concerns.Dr. Kim came into the room- promptly- introduced herself & listened to my concerns addressed them laid out a plan. She acknowledged my thoroughness in what I had done to address my issues. I like that she made me a part of the plan that was concise - gave me a lot of useful information. Very satisfied with the thoroughness of this office and speed with which they took care of me while also listening to concerns. Could not recommend enough based on this first time patient experience. As I left however, I noticed that the parking lot and waiting room were filling quickly so not sure how the experience would go later on in the day, but they were very willing to accommodate an early appointment due to work conflicts.

Scheduling an…read moreappointment is like pulling teeth (and who goes to a dermatologist for dental work?) and the billing process was a nightmare. I moved a few months after being seen and when the follow-up bills were undelivered they, instead of simply calling me with the number they had on file, referred it to a collections agency. No additional effort was made to contact me. When I learned of the outstanding balance (from the collections agency) I immediately called Doctor Bressler's office to pay it, only to be rudely informed by the receptionist (I believe Cathy is her name) that it was too late and once a bill is sent to collections it's out of their hands. She was rude, angry, and defensive when I asked why she hadn't tried to contact me via phone and she claimed that she had but that the number on file must have been disconnected. Given I've had the same number since 2007 and it's been operational for the entire time, there's no way that was true. It just seems like a bad business practice to refer something to collections, adversely impacting your patient's credit for years, rather than simply picking up the phone. This is particularly true in a college town like Durham where many student-patients doubtlessly move often. Poor form, Doctor Bressler. I recommend you get competent office staff.

My husband was understandably a bit concerned but several of our friends and acquaintances recommended him as well. We arrived 15 minutes early for his 7:30 AM appointment. I was originally allowed to go back with him to find out the particulars of the surgery and ask questions but was not allowed to stay once they started the procedure. My husband did come to the waiting room in between rounds (unfortunately, one of the spots needed THREE rounds). He finally went back for stitches around 3 and we left a little after 4. This process took all day but my husband is currently cancer free! The office was super easy to find and parking was great, especially that early in the morning. We were able to park right outside the door. Once in the building, we took an elevator to the fourth floor. The waiting room was a little cool but not too chilly...but the rooms where they did procedures were in the 60s, so yes, they're truly cold! They had water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available. You were also able to have food in the waiting area but we did not. The chairs were fairly comfortable and everything was very clean. No TVs or magazines so bring your own entertainment! This office is very busy! One nurse told us that Dr.Cook sees 50 patients a day and I believe it after spending all day here. At first I thought that there had to be more doctors but it's just him and a LOT of support staff. I really liked Dr. Cook. He answered all of my questions and didn't rush me but it was also very apparent that he was not interested in BS or small talk. He was very efficient and succinct. Most surprising to me was that he called last night a few hours after we got home to check and make sure that my husband was ok. Above and beyond in my book! The stitches on my husband's face are tiny and look like they were done with great care. I'm confident that his scar will be barely noticeable once it fully heals. He will get them removed in a week. I will definitely update this review if we're not happy but I anticipate being very satisfied.

I was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma and sent to Dr. Cook at this Duke Surgery location…read more I was scared and just wanted this taken care of as quickly as possible. The surgery center is incredibly busy. Dr. Cook is the only doctor here, and he has a team of students, nurses, and staff who all assist him. He has FAQ sheets that were lifesavers for me, every step of the way. Before the surgery, detailing what to expect. Right after the surgery, detailing how to care for your stitches and what to expect in other ways. After your stitches get removed. So good. Everyone in the office was super friendly. Additionally, they warn you that it's going to be a long day so you know to bring a companion and wear warm clothes, etc. They have bagels and muffins and a coffee maker, and there are lots of restaurants in the same plaza so your companion can go get lunch. When you're in with Dr. Cook you know you're his top priority in that moment. This, combined with the managed expectations of knowing you're going to be there all day, made all the difference in the world. I knew I was in good hands. I ended up needing one pass of the Mohs surgery and then about 20 minutes of stitches (I'd venture to even call it plastic surgery, as it was so expertly done!). I went back a week later and the removal of stitches was very quick. I'm still healing from my surgery, and I know that I might have to deal with this again in the future. I would want to return to Dr. Cook every time.

Dr. Haque then arrived and after a brief discussion made me feel very comfortable about the procedure that I had been putting off for a while. After the procedure she made sure I knew exactly how the aftercare should be done and let me know that they were available to help with any questions or concerns that may have come up afterward. This practice is not just excellent medically speaking, but the friendly and professional atmosphere really puts it over the top for me.

They're both thorough, kind, and happy to answer all my questions. Suzanne has performed many biopsies on me; she's always gentle and checks in with me as she works. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient. There's always calm, zen music playing that's so relaxing I've almost fallen asleep in the waiting room. I recently had my first microneedling session, which went great. The MA was super sweet and listened to the areas I wanted to focus on. She gave me detailed instructions on aftercare and addressed my concerns. I really can't ask for a better dermatological practice and I'm so glad I found them!
