After half a week traveling in the London area, my family was running out of clean clothes. Taking…read morea chance, we found Boundary Community Laundry not too far away and left 3 bags of laundry to be washed while I worked and the rest of the family hit some tourist spots. Came back to find all clothes cleaned and folded, no fuss or upselling. The Laundrette has washers and driers with other optional services. Owner was welcoming and very helpful. We had a great experience and I highly recommend.

Ended up here when the washer/dryer at our Airbnb was broken. A no frills average laundromat with…read morelimited space. About 10-12 washers line the walls on the right and left. 4-5 dryers line the back wall. Most of the washers held one load and there was one that held two loads. The dryers were larger than the washers and could easily hold 2+ loads. Detergent was sold there if needed. There were attendants at the laundromat when we visited around midday. They distributed the detergent and helped move things along. Several baskets were available to help transport clothing from one machine to the next and to remove clothing from the dryer while trying to find a spot to fold clothing. That last part was tricky since the only spot to do this was on top of machines or the floor. It was easier to just stuff the clean clothing into a bag and do the folding elsewhere. Folding the clothing directly out of the machine wasn't an option as it took too much time and prevented others from using the dryer. I also noticed that the laundromat offered a drop off service as well, but didn't see any rates posted.

You know... I was a fan. Laundry is a tad stressful for me here in London, as a pampered princess…read moreCalifornia former washer-dryer owner. I accept this. The washer in our building is temperamental and for the love of god, I just wanted clean sheets and a fluffy tumbled-dry towel! *shakes fist* So I looked up laundromats on Ye Olde Yelp and lo, there is one just a 7 minute walk away. I loaded up my old lady trolley with linens and off I set. it was really easy to find and while older (say... 80's, maybe?) inside, it was clean and well maintained. The service lady there offered friendly assistance when I looked vexed at the machines (the one in our building at my money until I cursed at it, so I've not had the best luck with appliances lately) and gave me the shocking skinny: £5 for the larger machines, £3 for the smaller. Go with the larger. I fit a few fitted double sheets, about 5 bath towels, a handful of kitchen towels in there and could've likely fit a few more bits. It's a longer wash, 40 minutes, but allegedly "better". The dryer is huge (good for drying duvets!) and runs £2 to £3 a load (30-40 minutes), depending on what you're drying (jeans and towels take longer, for example). But since you can likely fit everything in one dryer, it's reasonable. I got out of there for £8 and the lady working there was really nice and helpful. She also changes your money for the washers, which use no-longer-in-circulation 50p coins. Bonus: there's a very delicious bakery next door, as well as a market a couple doors down if you need to do a bit of shopping while you wait.
