We were having problems with one of our desk top computers. It was sending numerous Chrome…read moregenerated pop up messages, faster than we could shut them down. We decided to take it to Best Buy since this is where we both 2 of the HP All in One desktop. The service advisor said we would need to join Best Buys signature repair option for $200/ year. So, we did. He said that it would be two or three days to fix, to which we agreed. After 4 days we went to the store to check on the status, and found that they had done nothing, they did use the excuse that we needed to give the password since they had shut it down and when the computer restarted it mysteriously didn't have the password. I informed then that in the 2 years I had owned them they had never started up without requiring a password. I gave them the password again, at which point they said it would be two more days. After waiting this additional time, we were able get our computer back. When we got home a set up the machine it was missing all of its network drivers and would not detect our network. We returned the computer to Best Buy and were told that it wasn't anything they did and offered no additional help. I contacted a local IT Network professional and paid him to come to our home and see if he could fix it. After spending a few minutes reviewing our network, he asked if I had been messing with it because a lot of the drivers and setting were not correct. I explained to him the Best Buy story, He said he personally would not BB touch anything of his, because they really don't have the proper staff to fix serious issues. As a last resort I returned to Best Buy to see about a refund for the $200 fee they charged since the did not fix the original problem but created many additional problems. Best Bey offered to refund $23.00 since they said they had billed $177 for the repairs they performed, I explained they did not fix anything but in addition had created many more problems. Pease be careful with these folks, because you really can't trust them to do what they say they will do.
