These people are terrible. They came to my home in January to do blow in insulation, put in batting…read morearound an exposed pipe and some other work. The crew arrived late and began the job. 4 hours go by and the lead guy is talking about it coming back the next day because he had a job in Dover MA that he needed to attend to. I informed him that he needed to come back tomorrow and complete the job. He arrived next day and I watch as him and his partner rush through the job. He leaves holes in walls, my garage is full of insulation materials that he didn't blow in correctly, they failed to address a back wall (I have cameras there) although he tried to lie until I pointed out the cameras. All in all they did a terrible job. 2 days later the pipe that was supposed to be insulated froze and cost me $250 to have it repaired. I called the office and reported what happened and basically got the runaround. Eventually, they sent out a second group who noted several inconsistencies in the job that was supposed to have been completed. At this point, I realized that I no longer wanted them back up my home because if you lied to me the first time you'll lie to me the second and third time. I contacted the office again and I asked them to give me back some of my money so I could hire a company to complete the work that they did not do that is verified by their own second team contractors. We've been playing this game for the past four months. I contacted Adobe the company that hires homework and to date I have not gotten any satisfaction. I read the reviews on homework energy into my surprise or Betty yet to no one's surprise, they are the worst company out there. They do half ass jobs and when you call to complaint they give you the runaround.

I consulted several professionals who were stunned by the shoddy workmanship done by a man I'd never would have hired has it not been for Phil's recommendation. Of course,Phil who now refuses all responsibility. He is happy to accept the compliments but denies all. responsibility for his mistakes The sump pump's failure. led to two more floods which ultimately cost a small fortune. All of Newton Fire and Flood's original remediation was for nothing.

I have been building super insulated homes since the mid-70s. 10 inch offset stud walls with 18+" Fiberglas insulation in ceilings with six mill poly vapor barrier all seems taped. Fiberglass cannot compete with foam in the slightest. We were one of the first builders to use rigid foam insulation below ground. They came out and did a stellar job on my own home and greatly reduced my heating bills. I replaced the aging insulation in my attic that was 18 inches thick with an envelope-based foam system in the rafters. They did a really nice job thermally bridging all of the rafters. This greatly increased the amount of usable space and will have a large impact on our AC bill and the longevity of our roof as well. They were very careful with everything. They made sure all the foam had a great contact to sill plates and other very critical areas for air leakage. They did a great job on all the hard and tight areas. Extremely professional and courteous, all overspray areas were carefully sealed and taped off. The crawlspace into a cathedral ceiling was extremely tight. They did a fantastic job getting up there and sealing it extremely well. My HVAC guy said he had never seen a home foamed so well. I could feel the difference in the home immediately. Highly recommended. I would honestly not use anyone else. Especially because any questionable area has always been carefully taken care of without any problems. Sol personally inspects each job before and after. And he's a nice guy. :-)

Prepared the area thoroughly and left the area clean. We had a small problem with the cable for our TV getting buried in the wall. I called Sol and he told us what we should do. Then he came back and repaired the area that we had to hunt around in. He also touched up areas around the windows as well. We would use them again. Once they arrived for the job, the foreman "hadn't even spoken" once to the owners about the job and the foreman seemed confused about what work to perform. I wrote a quick email message to Christine at McEachern and she became argumentative (this wasn't the first time). Basically, they did a HORRIBLE job smearing silicone over painted cedar shingles, left a huge mess for me to clean off and then took off. Before they even came, they wanted me to put a box vent on a small portion of my roof (the main roof has a ridge vent). So, I was forced to hire a roofer to put a ridge vent in, which cost me $1,000. Run. Run away from McEachern, even though they've been doing this for years.

I had 12 windows installed by American Building Technologies, and this was one of the worst…read morecontractor experiences I have had. The installation crew itself was excellent--hardworking, polite, and professional. My issues were with management, particularly Jose. We agreed on a specific brand and style of windows, including three large living-room windows. When the order arrived, I was told they could no longer do the three large windows, but the price was not reduced. I was told the remaining windows would be installed and the large ones reordered. When the windows came off the truck, I immediately noticed they were not the brand we had agreed to. I contacted Jose and found him dismissive and disrespectful. Because my old windows had already been removed, I was told these windows would be installed and the correct ones ordered later. An inspector was then sent as though the job was complete. Every installed window failed inspection because the required safety glass was not used. The proposed solution was to replace only three windows and apply safety film to others to meet code. I am now left with windows that were not what I agreed to purchase, that failed inspection, and an unresolved dispute over the correct windows and pricing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend American Building Technologies. I am also very disappointed that Mass Save refers homeowners to this company.

When I called to ask why no one arrived, the response I received was dismissive, as if my call were an inconvenience rather than a legitimate question. I'm actually glad they never showed. If a company can't manage a simple appointment, how could they possibly handle a major project worth tens of thousands of dollars, on schedule and with professionalism?
