The Pond is a self described dive bar located in a strip mall area in Franklin Tennessee…read more I like to patronize places that aren't chains and aren't super popular spots when I travel, as I enjoy being around common folks in areas that I go to. The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.

We absolutely loved hearing the people behind the music in such an intimate venue. There is ample room in the theater for seating and dining. The food was very reasonably priced and good quality. They have a limited staff, please don't expect typical dining experiences. Atmosphere (5/5): A cozy, yet vibrant setting. Sound resonated well throughout the theater and not many bad seats to see the stage. Price (5/5): Admission was about $20 per person a food ranges from $10 - $50. They do require a table minimum of 15 per person that needs to go towards drinks or food. Food (4/5): Food quality was decent. The bread on the turkey sandwich was a little dry, while the onions rings were a little soggy. Service (4/5): They do work on a limited staff and each of them are artists. It can take a minute to order and get your food but they have a lot of people.

Setting is great. The sound system had so much midrange in it, you could not understand a single…read moreword sung or spoken from table 34. You're better off standing up at the bar or leaving if you get that table. Can't speak to the other areas in the room. Only one artist sung at a volume to cut through the mess where we were. The female singer was so quiet even in front of the bar you struggled to hear. I am not panning the place. We'd come back. But only if we can pick our table. Additional information. The doors to the venue open 30 minutes before the show, but the lobby area opens earlier. We were there in plenty of time, but thought our digital tickets would get us in. After waiting in that line and then being told we needed to get to the line to check in, the venue was getting full. Get there early and get in line to check in early. That may get you better seating. Beer was cold. We all had burgers. They were good. Onion rings are pre- battered and the same as frozen ones you get at a fast food joint. Overall I'd recommend visiting, but be aware, if your experience was like ours, you'll most definitely not get value for your dollar.

I like Bridgestone Arena! I've seen several great bands perform there! Most recently, my Sorority…read moreSister and I saw Iron Maiden at Bridgestone! We both love the lead singer, Bruce Dickinson and their mascot, Eddie! This was a great show: the "Legacy of the Beast" tour! Like Yelper Kayla S., mentioned, Bridgestone is super close to Broadway, making it typically a quick walk from your hotel, which is a huge bonus! Sorority Sister and I saw a legendary 80s hair band there, too, who also put on a great show! I don't think it was Def Leppard; however that's the closest band I see on the Bridgestone concert archives website. It was funny because the drummer, who was dressed in his best 80s leotard tights, and 80s t-shirt, bounded out of (his and our) hotel building running late for the show! He jumped into a cab and went around the corner straight to Bridgestone. Bridgestone does a good job with security; they have all the eats and drinks you could want; their merch is always displayed well, priced well, and readily available. I love Bridgestone!

The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. Some of the seats near the top are very narrow when it comes to legroom, so be prepared to stand up and stretch sometimes. If you're at a predators game, this will be no problem as the crowd likes to get loud and proud! If at a concert, the "nosebleeds" are still relatively close to the action and climate controlled vs the outdoor/stadium venue options around town. Parking can be expensive on Broadway, so a ride share might be a better option if you can walk a couple blocks for pickup.
