We…read moreknew we wanted a total makeover for our place, but trying to find a team that actually handles the 'boots on the ground' construction side and the high-end design is way harder than it looks. After talking to a few different firms, Kanika Design just felt like the right fit. Kanika really listened to what we wanted. I've always been a bit nervous about using bold colors, but she pushed us (in a good way!) for a deeper color palette in the main living areas. It looks incredible. Kanika found us so many unique, high-quality furniture pieces that you just won't find at a big-box store. The biggest thing for us was logistics. Once the design process completed, their team handled everything - architectural, permit headache, and construction. Anyone who has done a remodel knows things never go 100% perfectly, but whenever an issue popped up, they were on top of it immediately. They kept the contractors moving and kept us updated on the budget and what was happening next. It's a relief to finally be done after 2 years and have a home that feels like us but way better. I can't recommend Kanika and her team enough. We're still obsessed with how everything turned out.

Eliana hit the streets and canvassed Lowe's, Home Depot and other physical storefronts as well as multiple internet retailers to provide options with pictures and suggestions for each and every item on the list, all while keeping my budget in mind. She laid out an attack plan and together we proceeded step by step until the list was done. This made my life much, much easier! From the start, she is a professional at follow-up, doing what she says she is going to do, and availability via phone, text, or email. At one point, after the painter had started, I wanted to add another color to one of our living room walls. I called Eliana and she immediately gave me three wonderful color options to choose from. I had never worked with a designer before and wanted to hire someone who was creative, yet would respect my aesthetic. Eliana was a great fit for me, because she is very artistic, yet respectful of my style. She had so many great suggestions, and the occasional idea that I did not agree with was no problem for her. She moved right on with another great idea! No way could I pick out the paint colors that she did! The colors work together so well, and complement our furniture and wall coverings. Eliana very carefully paired the paint colors with our current furnishings. I often appreciated her respect for our budget by working with what we have whenever possible. After our meetings, she sent me "to-do lists", detailing what we had talked about doing for the house, along with suggestions about where to shop for future purchases. I have referred to these lists many times to help stay on track. Our home is coming along beautifully, thanks to Eliana. In the Spring, we hope to paint the exterior, plus do some other outdoor updates, and I look forward to working with Eliana again!

From the initial space planning for the kitchen and master bathroom, the layout of slabs, tile and cabinetry, selection of all the finish materials, colors, fixtures and hardware, they were very professional to work with. Details matter to us, and their attention to detail is apparent in our finished home. They referred excellent vendors and suggested the best, high end and quality finishes and materials. Most importantly, Pam and Erwin's work ethics are unbeatable, and they made sure we got everything we wanted on our checklist. From start to finish, the design process went smoothly, and the meetings and discussions were fun and productive. We gave them the creative freedom and trusted their design process and vision and our kitchen and bathroom remodel designs are masterpieces. Was looking to remodel my 1965 Eichler and my architect had worked with UD before…read more She is a difficult individual to work with; my suggestion of a contractor she summarily dismissed. She insisted on working with her 'team'. Mind you this is a former Google employee who has no formal training in design and fewer interpersonal skills. I've had better service at the USPS than with UD. In her response below she attempts to imply UD turned me down. The reality is she forced the issue of working with her contractor. Duh, who is footing the bill here Pamela? My contractor recommended the architect who recommended UD; and you attempt to commandeer the entire process by forcing the removal of the client's contractor? Recommendation: Avoid. Highly inflexible, domineering owner.
