I've been to Greencoast twice so far in the past week and I must say, they really have had everything I would need to setup any type of hydro setup I wanted. I personally went with a DWC bucket setup, but that really doesn't matter in this review, what does, is, everything was priced low and i found all the answers I needed. I went to my local Green Coast because my favorite hydroponics store in Santa Fe Springs was out of the soil I needed. I was concerned when I arrived that all the pallets of soil were kept outside in the sun and weather. Ever heard of bioactive soil? Strike one. There was a big sign outside that said they matched competitors' prices but when I said my hydroponics store has fox farm $3 cheaper/bag the man helping me said that it was on sale and the higher sale price was the best they could do. False advertising. Strike two. The highest grade of soil they had was Fox Farm, but I needed soil, so I purchased it. I usually get Roots Organic soil for the price they charged me for Fox Farm on sale. When they pulled the bags to put in my car one of the men said the soil was wet and heavy. It had been on one of the pallets outside in the recent rain. When I got home, I noticed that the bags were all pull dated. Every bag had passed its expiration date by 4 months. Biological activity is guaranteed to be dead by the manufacturer. I can get pull dated Fox Farm 24hr/day on Offer up for $6. Strike three. I don't know if all Green Coast stores have the same business practices, but I will never purchase from one again. read more

I was a regular customer for about 5 years at the Orange branch. This year things changed. New staff not as friendly, or as helpfull. Every time I go to buy a couple of bags of vermi- soil, I get hassled over the price. I've been paying 15 for a bag since you started carrying it. Yesterday I was charged 17, after I explained that it's been 15 for over a year and a half. I'm tired of the lack of service, etc, so I'm not coming back. Oh, and for what it's worth, I've been to your store a couple of times when at 10:15 am your still not open ! What's up w/that ? read more

This is definitely the best hydro store in the area. I've been coming here since the start of my growing project. After going to other places and dealing with rude employees, it was a nice change to be able to deal with professionals that actually cared. Tim has been nothing but helpful since the first time I walked in, he always has a smile on his face and is ready to help. I usually have questions about what I have seen go wrong and he always has an honest opinion and try to figure out a solution that will best help your situation. No matter if your doing this for love on a small scale or just trying to figure out the biggest most efficient project he's always a great mind to bounce ideas off of. Walked in yesterday knowing nothing I left knowing it all. HAHA J/K But I do know what I am doing for my first grow (strawberries in a aeroponic setup). I liked this place for the most part. I was new to the area and made this my primary store. In the last couple months, certain items aren't ordered enough time before they run out. There have been at least 3 occasions where they were out of dirt. A couple times they have run out of nutrients I need. Lately they have been out of Root Riots for about a month. As much as I want to support this store, it's hard when they don't stay stocked on the things I need and no one has ever offered an alternate solution (like giving two 250mL bottles for the price of one 500mL). The customer service is limited. I have found a new love 55 HYDROPONICS. They have a great vibe and cheaper nutrients. They have earned my business for sure. read more

This place is pretty good, it's just they occationaly play their music loud and they dont really greet you. But hey that's just my opinion. I come here often for my garden needs. The price is ok. The staff has the knowledge when it comes to hydroponic and gardening. They take the time to help you out. They offered me bottled water and ice cold soda even when i wasn't planning on buying anything, which I'm sure they knew. Most of the staff seem passionate at what they do; I had a 20 minute conversation about pest and tomatoes once. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I come, they got everthing! Marvin is the man! I needed a special order for an old mini split A/C filter and remote which I was told by 2 other reputable hydro stores that the items were available but in another warehouse and had to be searched according to their representatives. After 2 long months of calling in every week for a status I kept getting the run around. After losing hope, I decided to give this place 1 last shot and within 1 week Marvin was able to fulfill my order without any run-arounds and he even called me to tell me what's going on which other places had never called me once! read more

Today I bought two 5 ounce packages of gnatrol power for fungus gnat problems. when I got home and weighed them they only weighed 2.4 ounces and 2.9 ounces these were packaged in house. come on guys you can do better than that now I feel like I cannot trust you ot buy anything in your store that may have been tampered with ,not knowing if someone there is totally incompetent or you are trying to scam people . also I specifically asked if I got my 20% off all items the guy said yes when I looked on my receipt later I paid full price for both of these items. read more
