V Montoyas nursery is an extensive, well priced nursery, where you can get great prices on trees, plants and flowers. Its a place where you can let your creativity go untamed because the prices are much lower than the average nursery. You can get a flat (at the time of this review) of flowers which are 16 plants for $12. I have been purchasing these flats for my garden for years and have always been impressed with the quality of their flowers. While they do have a very good variety of different flowers they don't have too many fruits or vegetable plants. That is something I wish they would add. The staff are nice and very knowledgeable. It is a very big nursery, so sometimes it is hard getting a staff member to answer questions. But, once you do talk to them, I find them very friendly and pleasant. I love this place. I love this nursery!! It is family owned, which is refreshing, with super friendly helpful ideas. I have been coming to this nursery since they opened. I remember meeting the owner and spending many Sundays talking with him and getting his advice on plan selection. Fast Forward 15 years later and now the place is better than ever. Shot out to the ladies...Careli and Lucy - who I believe are the original owner's daughters - they seem to be running the place now. These ladies are organized and efficient. The nursery has a huge selection, it's very well organized and I have never had to return a plant. The nursery is situated next to a reservoir. On our last trip my husband and I were saying they should open a small coffee stand with a few seats where one can take a break from all the walking, grab some coffee and enjoy the view. It's a beautiful location. Their prices are very reasonable. Why does anyone pay full retail? They provide wholesale prices to the public. Keep up the great work V. Montoya. Was super impressed with variety of plants offered (very healthy!!), cleanliness, and beautifully maintained property, but mostly the KNOWLEDGE and helpfulness of the young lady assisting people checking out!!! I am soooo thankful that I found this nursery. The selection and prices are unmatched. I'm such a sucker for going to home depot and Rogers gardens all these years. The plant selection is always rotating so it's always a treat to see what you will find. The staff are so helpful with prices and with help finding what you may need. Today I purchased 3 plants thinking it was going to be around $30 when it was ONLY $6! I wanted to turn around to get some more but it just gives me another reason to come back. I saw that they are selling black kiddie pools, the highest going for only $30. I would recommend this place if your ever looking to re landscape your place. I came here to look for competitive prices and that's exactly what I found. I had already been to another nursery in town, and at the suggestion of the guy working on my front yard, I came here. I wanted to completely redo my front yard and actually got the job done for HALF the price I was quoted at a traditional nursery. I also had the privilege of getting walked around the premises while David helped me find exactly what I needed (we made some small changes to my original idea). The typical box nursery quoted me two weeks delivery, and David committed to a 3 day turnaround. Critical when I just want to be done with this front yard of mine. He also offered to exchange any plants if I wasn't satisfied with the look once delivered. I will admit, I had already done my homework and I knew what plants I wanted, I knew the spacing and quantity, although from overhearing conversations while walking the property they can help you with that sort of information as well. Only one lady was working there just hosing off rocks & ignored every single person looking around. One lady asked her a question & her response was curt. I asked her if they carried a certain plant & she just said no. Like no follow up, no hey we might have them at such & such time or maybe you should check such & such place. Just no? Okay. I only tried this place because it's literally right down the street from my house. This place feels like they normally work direct with landscapers and not the public. It is worth coming here for the price alone!! You can buy flats of flowers for $10 which is way cheaper than Home Depot or Armstrong. Came here with a brief idea of what kind of plants we wanted. The girl who works here was decently helpful in showing us what plants they had. It is not setup very easy to walk around and see all the plants. It is better if you ask the staff to point you in the right direction. This place could be better, but overall this place needs to be supported, it is a place I will be returning to whenever I want live plants. The only complaint is the lack of labels and prices, but this cuts back on overhead and they pass the savings on to you. I would say everything is half the price of other places. So how can you go wrong? I got some flowers and tomato plants and everything I bought still looks healthy and is doing well. This will be my go to place for live plants. Honestly I used to love this nursery the men here were great with plant name's and great prices until we were helped by a young lady about 20s or early 30s she is very rude and always gives me way higher prices than anyone else, she did not know the succulents I bought she said they didn't know name's just succulents but the guys do know, I highly recommend to avoid her because I think she's the owners brat daughter and over charges just cause she feels like it.
