I don't know when a bodega becomes a full-on grocery store, but this place is riding the line pretty hard. They have good beer. Good granola. Good coffee. Good, no-nitrite sausages. Fresh, quality produce. And you know Mr. Kiwi cares about what you put in your body, because he also stocks the organic and health-conscious stuff: Bell & Evans chicken. Several types of fake meat for the vegans. Ronnybrook Farms dairy. Wheatgrass shots. Pre-made salads that actually look good. A serious selection of Asian eats (noodles, kimchi, sushi, etc.). All the sauces, dressings, canned and packaged goods you might want...it's like Whole Foods up in here, with better prices. Basifcally, they've got an astonishing selection of edible items, and just to top it off, an excellent juice/smoothie bar and legitimately wonderful staff/service. Count yourself lucky if you live in the neighborhood.

I wasted no time and making my way to this corner grocery store. As soon as I entered, it dawned on me that the produce was fresh and an amazing price. I quickly snag myself some avocados, fruit, and peppers. Inside, I asked for a mixed juice of carrot, apple and orange. The lady at the juice counter gladly obliged. She made a little extra so I was asked to drink up so she can fill my cup again. It felt so nice, kind of like growing up how my mom asked me to take a few gulps when she made me milkshake. The energy of this place is so kind and sweet. I can tell the owners and the employees are just good people. Definitely come by here for a juice or any other grocery needs. Wish I lived by here!!

I will not be going back. Oh, and they let dogs in to the grocery store which is a violation of NYC Health department laws. My iron, dangerously low, I wandered into this place and to my greatest of all joys, found they had frozen brocc. Seven dollars and fifty cents later I was skipping home like the happy little rabbit I am at heart. I would experience delirium brought on by lack of brocc brocc. Then I opened the bag. It was... brown... in the places I could see through the chunks of ice the broccoli was layered in. For almost eight dollars? Really? I remember so hyped when I first saw this supermarket opened in my neighborhood. I was like now I…read moredon't need to stick to Food Bazaar. When I went inside, I immediately was disappointed. I thought it would be hipster and trendy inside. I did not realize the interior decor would look like one of those supermarkets like Bravo or Associated with bright white lights and narrow and tight aisles. The supermarket outside looked hipster and trendy. Also I got a problem with the gate outside of the supermarket. I got a baby stroller and several times I tried to go inside with the stroller and the gate entrance was just too tight. Also my shopping cart couldn't even fit! I did not realize that they did not know how measure the gate entrance before constructing it. I wish they renovate it or fix that problem soon because I cannot go inside. One thing I like about this supermarket is the charcoal water they got. I needed charcoal water immediately one day and they had it by the entrance. I immediately bought it and chugged it. It was somewhat pricey and I knew it was pricey because nobody touched that stuff. There were too many bottles in stock. I wonder how they make money when all the items are mostly in stock in each aisle. Luckily I check the expiration date to make sure they not expired. Also there aren't any self checkout kiosks. Hopefully they can expand on that. Also especially the gate entrance needs to have a bigger space for strollers. I would be happy if they got that fixed soon.

I actively avoid shopping here as much as possible because every time I go in I have the most unpleasant experience with the staff - especially the person who appears to be the manager. Today was the final straw for me as I JUST purchased a wedge of cheese from the store yesterday, only to notice when I arrived back home that it was full of mold and the packaging had been compromised. I wasn't able to go right back so when I returned today asking to exchange it for a not moldy piece I was lectured on the fact that they are not responsible for any merchandise once it has left the store but if I had a receipt it would be a different story. I never carry a receipt out of the store, and had even put my phone number in for the transaction. He said the phone number wouldn't do any good to look things up and was extremely rude.
