I was around this area and saw Foodtown so I popped in to check it out and I barely ate much for breakfast so I saw the cold cut selections immediately when I went in. 6.99 for a cold cut club sandwich is a decent price. I didn't want to eat any cold cuts so I decided to see what else they have and miraculously I saw the hot items in one section of the supermarket. I saw chicken nuggets but they were a lot though and saw a couple of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches so I took one to go. At 4.49 is a decent price for this type of sandwich. I quickly paid with a credit card and had trouble paying it with the merchant kiosk. I tried to sign my name after inserting my credit card but it didn't allow me to and the cashier said it was fine. Not sure if it was fine but I trusted her though. I went out with the sandwich and when I opened it I saw the American cheese melted all over the sandwich and it looked so delicious. The egg is kind of overcooked but I was fine with it. Mostly all yolk and the bacon was a bit too fatty. I had to take the fatty part out of the sandwich. Other than that, the sandwich was pretty good and filled my hunger. This food town is kind of big and took over the whole block.

There is a distinct difference between "Assorted Varieties" and "Select Varieties" - but Foodtown doesn't comprehend that....

I think I encountered the same rude young female employee Jen A. encountered last November.... She identified herself as a manager. The store had Tate's cookies on sale for $4.99. I selected four bags; two each of two separate varieties. One variety scanned at the proper sale price, the other at the regular price of $6.49. The cookies were under a sign that read, "Tate's Cookies Assorted Varieties $4.99". This young lady, and two other employees, claimed that the sign meant that only assorted varieties are on sale - which is certainly not the case. The sign clearly means that there are assorted varieties of Tate's cookies available. If only certain varieties are on sale, the sign would read "Select Varieties". This manager had the audacity to comment on me shopping at Whole Foods Market (I had two bags of food from WFM - and, very clearly, WFM and TJ are siphoning off their customers...). One reason I do shop at Whole Foods and our new Trader Joe's is that their employees display class and professionalism - among other attributes. What happened is that I selected the Lemon cookies. The packaging clearly indicates that the flavor is new - and Foodtown corporate has not entered that particular UPC into their system. This is not an infrequent occurrence at Foodtown.... I'm certain that the site will be a condominium within five years and they'll have only themselves to blame for their demise.

I just passed by this grocery supermarket in the neighborhood, I bought shishito pepper for my mom, I know she will love it and im glad they have that pepper in tge store. It wasn't so fresh because I saw so of bag was bad inside but it is better than nothing.

It's a reasonably well stocked grocery store. A cut above average. Nice selection of stuff for vegetarians.

The Bad Wife - The return policy on the plants

This is a brilliant little grocery with all the essentials and quite a bit of Asian variety…read moreavailable too, along with a small produce selection. There's a lot packed in there! It's a good choice for coffee, snacks, but also fennel, vegan food, kimchi, or eucalyptus cuttings (and, like many small grocery stores, some things are better deals than others). Importantly for the neighborhood, Bad Wife also sell live plants and flowers at very reasonable prices. In the spring and summer, they'll often have flowering plants available. I've always had great interactions with the staff here, and am a fan of the place.

Earlier today, I purchased several plants. In the evening, I returned to the store to return those…read moreitems, for a refund. I no longer wanted those plants. Mrs. Lee refused to accept the return. She referred to a sign that read, plants are not returnable. That particular sign was displayed at at the back of the plant section, on a high shelf. Interestingly enough, at the cash register, there is a sign that states, "Refund policy provided within 2 days receipt." It is mandatory for stores to visibly display their return policy at the cash register. 'The Bad Wife' failed to do so. Mrs. Lee's attitude was rude and dismissive despite being told return policies must be clearly visible by the cash register.

They also have a much larger variety of fresh and packaged produce than neighboring grocery stores. They have loads of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, BPA free, organic etc products too. The meats here are fresher and they are generally always well stocked with whatever I need. They ALSO have loads of ready made meals - pizza, pastas, fresh salads, soups, sushi, a mini patisserie, bakery (including cakes, bagels of diff flavors, fresh pretzels etc), cheese bar (with every kind of cheese you can think of, both local and imported from around the world). They offer a wide range of organic juices and international lunch foods to pack and go. The shop is always immaculate and the products are never dusty/expired. The customer service here is amazing - employees are super nice and extremely attentive, and even when DoorDash screwed up my order, they went out of their way to repack it and use one of their own guys to deliver it to me so I wouldn't have to deal with the frustration of Whenever there is a hard to find product that comes to mind, I know FGM is going to carry it. Is it more expensive? Yes. But that's because the produce is fresher, tastes better, is healthier, and there is a huge variety of local products coming from smaller farms and smaller companies (which equals a higher price).

They have great ready to take meals though and great hot bar and cold bar. Good cafe. Even seating to eat. Great drink selections. Good butcher. If you can afford to shop here, it's splendid.
