La Finca has your standard issue Puerto Rican/Dominican vegetable needs: cilantro, chayote, garlic, yuca, platanos, guineos, onions, peppers, spices, etc and much more. They also have an increasingly growing selection of Mexican goods. But if you want your real deal Mexican foods got to the little Mexican stores that pepper Broadway Avenue. But why? why am I writing this review. You can get fruits and veggies everywhere? WRONG! This the only place in a 10 block radius where you can get FRESH, CHEAP and YUMMY vegetables. C-town veggies quality sucks, food bazaar (on myrtle and broadway) is hit or miss and overpriced and Mr. Kiwi is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! La Finca has a small but fresh and inexpensive selection of fruits and veggies. Believe the hype--the price and quality really is that good. You don't need fancy packaging and store decor to see, feel and taste quality. Don't believe me...after you drop off your package at the post office come by La Finca. There's tons and tons of park space of all sorts in the immediate vicinity (outdoor BBQ, dog runs, track and field, or just plain grass lawns with plenty of trees and open), which makes this a fun experience for an hour or two rather than just quickly buying and leaving. You can easily buy some supplies at the market and have a snack or picnic steps away. This place is around all year I believe but we really enjoy coming in the Fall, as there's great options here for hot cider and donuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious cheese and milk (some of the best Eggnog I've had is sold each year at this market), and lots of other stuff to peruse from while on a leisurely weekend stroll. We live over in Queens, and there's some half-decent similar markets around in that part of town, but it's just nicer to bike or commute over to Greenpoint and enjoy this Farmers Market on a Saturday. I'm moving out of the neighborhood at the end of the month and this will be the only thing I miss. The staff is mostly Korean and all friendly, keep the place clean, stock good organic produce. (Prices are good- the only place you're going to find cheaper produce is Key Foods, which is cheaper because it smells like literal human shit and sells rotten food. Do not shop there). I love the uncommon Korean and Japanese products they stock- you can't find this stuff anywhere else. My favorite thing is the basket of onigiri "rice balls" next to the register. Not the best onigiri, but again, you aren't going to find onigiri anywhere else in fucking Crown Heights. If you buy it fresh (check the date) it's pretty tasty, cheap, and you can eat it on the go for breakfast or dinner. Calbee Shrimp Chips must have been invented by Satan because they are too fucking good. They stock fresh Udon noodles, Korean seasoning like Gochujang and Kombu, and even makgeolli (sometimes) in the beer fridge. Beer selection is good. I particularly like the chopped vegetables they stock in the produce section. usually if you're buying pre-chopped food it's way marked up. These boxes are cheap, and make it so easy to cook a quick dinner after work or pack a lunch in the morning. They also have pre made chickpea salad, seaweed salad, kimchi, hard boiled eggs, peeled fruit. All very good if you're short on time (and if you don't eat meat). I'm laughing at the other reviews for this place that give low stars (Amanda C. and Mandy M.) I looked through these people's accounts and they are filled with outraged stories about employees being rude to them. Here's the thing: if you think everyone is rude to you, it might be because :::you're a fucking asshole!::: If you are an asshole, people are not cheerful and friendly to you because you are repellant!

There are scales for you to weigh your containers, and containers available to purchase if you don't have any- such as jars, glassware, bags and stashables. Their fresh produce is a plus too with eggs, milk and other things provided by local vendors. There were even pickles, different varieties of mushrooms, coconut yogurt, vegan mozzarella and butter. I was so pleased to be able to refill my olive oil and white vinegar, along with grabbing some wasabi peas and popcorn snacks along with pinenuts! The staff is super friendly, and the owner Lara is naturally French and a huge advocate for sustainability and food. They are open to suggestions and feedback, and are actively looking to add more to their assortment. It's worth supporting businesses like this, and I will be proudly returning for more!

I spent a total of $95 dollars. Mostly dry pantry goods that have a long shelf life. I also pretty much only cook for one, so my haul will last me for probably the majority of the year. A lot of people see the price per pound on some items, and freak. Black peppercorns for example, are 30-ish a lb, but nobody is buying that much. I got a giant refill for seven bucks. My most expensive buy was olive oil-I refilled a giant container that came to 25 bucks. However, it's quality oil, it'll last me most of the year, and it's a giant bottle. If you ask me, the investment is one THOUSAND percent worth it. Try it. If you're concerned of about cost, you can bring small containers/Tupperware and sample a few choice things. I'm a fan. See you next time!
