My sister and I had to maneuver our mother to the ER (non-emergency/ 911). We are not from the local and so just started searching local companies. How extremely fortunate we found Green Trips! The dispatcher was knowledgeable, quick and professional. Within 30 minutes our wonderful driver, John, arrived. With less than one day's notice, Peter and John at Green Trips help orchestrate a pickup and two different medical drop offs with a final return for my mother and her aide. The driver was not very helpful. I had to ask for his help with getting all our belongings down from the hospital room to the car and then up to our apartment. He acted annoyed. His driving was OK but we had hoped he would be more careful transporting someone after spine surgery. read more

I contacted Green Trips to provide transportation for my 83 y.o. mother who is recovering from hip surgery. The trip was scheduled in advance and use of a wheelchair was requested. We also informed them that a relative would be accompanying my mother to the appointment. When the driver arrived, almost an hour late, to transport my mother and relative from her medical appointment back to the rehabilitation facility, the driver wanted my mother to sit on her walker while being driven in the ambulette. My mother expressed her concern, informing the driver that she did not feel safe sitting on her walker and wanted to sit in the wheelchair as had been arranged. The driver resisted. My mother explained that the arrangements were made to utilize the wheelchair. The driver continued to resist. At one point, the driver began to yell at my mother and used profanity. He then threatened to leave her at the doctor's office. When you look at the website, Green Trips claims, "We provide quality ambulatory wheelchair services and professional door-to-door transportation for the elderly as well as the disabled. Which part of this experience is quality? Which part of this experience is ambulatory? Which part of this experience is professional? Why the reluctance to transport in the wheelchair? I am horrified that my mother had to endure the upsetting, unprofessional, risky, and abusive treatment from this driver. No one deserves to be treated in this way and certainly not an elderly person whose mobility is compromised. The driver treated her this way in the presence of my relative. How does he treat those people who are alone? For Green Trips to employ staff who disregard the care and safety of the vulnerable population they serve is negligent. My grandparents mean the absolute world to me, but it's difficult to manage all their doctor's appointments while working full-time. I've been using Green Trips services for the past three months, and they've been an irreplaceable pillar for our family. My grandparents often comment how respectfully and kindly they are treated during the ride. What truly gives me peace of mind is when the driver sends me a text message after my grandparents are safely at their destination. Green Trips went above and beyond! Words can not express how grateful myself and my family are for them. I contacted them because we needed an Ambulate company to transport an Elderly family member of ours from Tarrytown, NY to Niagara Falls, Ontario. Paul was the person who took care of booking and scheduling this. He was calm and assured everything would go well. He gave me a quote in less then 5 minutes and we booked it. The day right before the transporting, I received a phonecall from a lovely gentlemen by the name of Peter who went over the transportation plan as well as all the logistics. There was scheduled a driver as well as an assistant for our family member. The day arrived when she was scheduled to be picked up at 8am. Green trips arrived at 7:30am. It was amazing. I spoke with Paul that morning to tally up the bill and he said if I needed GPS updates I could call him. I didn't need to call him because once John and Daniel were on the road. They were the two transporting our family member, I was receiving text updates about how our family member was doing, when she ate, if she fell asleep etc. Once they got to the Boarder they notified me as well as once they dropped her off and who met her, and even what they dropped off along with her. It was impeccable! So smooth the whole way. Not only did they keep our family member calm who was being transported but they kept us calm as a family as well. DISCRIMINATION!!!! We have been using this company Green Trips, since 2020, when my mother was brought home from rehab because we could no longer afford $16,000 a month. She is an 81-year-old woman who is homebound with little mobility. She must use a wheelchair to get around. We live in a house with stairs leading out the front door, which makes it extremely difficult to get her to a doctor's appointment without assistance. She is also in a predicament where she is having difficulty obtaining Medicaid; therefore, we must pay for all services, including medical supplies, which is costly. I googled ambulettes services, and we chose Green Trips as an affordable option. We used this service many times and paid them a $250 roundtrip with the assistance of an extra man to take my mother to the doctor, which is only 10 minutes from our house. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, I scheduled an ambulette. They arrived on time, but we had to wait for the second man. The second man driving another ambulette van arrived (Green trips purchased this other company). He saw my mother and immediately said in front of us, "She's heavy! I can't carry her". I was furious because I couldn't believe he said that in front of my mother. My mother is 240 lbs, not including the weight of the wheelchair (which is not that much). I completely lost it. I couldn't believe he would say something so offensive to an elderly person who is unable to walk and is in a wheelchair. I did not want him to touch my mother. I carried my mother down seven steps along with the main ambulette driver. I immediately called GreenTrips to complain. After this incident, I was having problems getting my mother to go back to the doctor in an ambulette. After much pleading, my mother decided to make another doctor's appointment and unwillingly agreed to take an ambulette. On Thursday, November 11, 2022, I called Green Trips to schedule another trip. He proceeded to take my order, then stopped to tell me they could no longer service my mother! He said they have a policy where they could only serve people under 200 lbs!! He tried to explain they always had that policy, which was a lie because they took our money in 2020. Then the dispatcher changed his story and said this was a new policy because it's a liability to their drivers to lift someone over 200 lbs. I told him this was DISCRIMINATION!!! I was so upset and hurt. It's one thing if they told me this in 2020, but 2 years later, they have a new policy not to serve people over 200 lbs. If my mother was capable of walking down the stairs, I could get her in my car and take her to the doctor myself. I was in tears at work because of this cruelty. How sad that a disabled, elderly person is denied service due to her weight. I can never tell my mother this happened. I now have to come up with a story as to why we are not using this insensitive company. I would NEVER recommend Green Trips to anyone. I told all my coworkers what happened and they couldn't believe it. They all got on their computers, googled, and called other companies to help me find a caring company that has no weight restrictions to take my mother to the doctor. My friend also put me in contact with a city official to share how our story how we were discriminated against by this company Green Trips. read more

Excellent new Ambulette company. My mom unfortunately broke her leg and we have been using a different company that the rehab uses but they were awful. I searched here and found Green Trips and they were very nice on the phone so I booked them. We needed a two man assist to get the wheelchair down the steps outside. Both drivers were early and friendly and didn't rush us at all. They took their time and were very careful with my mom. The van was brand new and clean. Our driver Peter Lee was very courteous and safe. We got to the hospital ahead of schedule. We didn't know what time we would be done so we called for a pick up and they arrived pretty quickly. Everything was smooth. Excellent customer service. Would use again and will highly recommend. read more

This new company provides an excellent service with a totally brand new car. The driver treated my mother so kindly and carefully. Also, the price was reasonable.
