The first experience was the other day getting a bunch of tacos for my family. I'm in a hurry quite a bit with all my personal businesses so we have to eat out on and off even though I love to cook. So, I am very picky if I have to pay for a meal and it doesn't taste as well as home cooking. We were very impressed with the chicken tacos. It was one of the best chicken tacos actually I've had in a long time. I've had quite a few chicken tacos from different places including in East LA. Home with their authentic Mexican tacos. These were really really good. A little pricey at four dollars a pop but they are large and well worth it. read more

Stopped by for lunch. The owners were awesome and greeted me warmly into the restaurant. Since it was my first time here they reviewed the menu with me. I opted to try the tacos. They had me at homemade tortillas! Absolutely awesome. Decided to try shrimp, asada, and carnitas. All good but the carnitas were my favorite. The owners even offered my a taste of their pozole. I ordered the 4 tacito plate. 2 beef and two chicken. They are crunchy tacos. Comes with a side of shredded lettuce, avocado, sour cream, beans and rice. Food has a a homemade taste. Customer service was outstanding and the food is very affordably priced. My order with a medium drink came out to about $11. read more

This is a solid taco shop. Service is good and friendly. Food is good and served with attention to detail. What I mean is, it is not fancy but they don't just slop things on the plate. $4 a taco really?. Great food, new to the area and I saw they served Pozole and Menudo, I've actually had both they are delicious, I would definitely recommend! To bad they only serve it on weekends, I love me some pozole. They have other stuff on their menu, tacos are okay definitely not worth $4ea, Yes $4 for a taco that's Ridiculously overpriced if you ask me, but to each their own, overall food is good, they might just need to work on their pricing for the tacos. Delicious enchiladas! Rice is great, not anyone can pull off red rice, they do. Refried beans are perfect, not salty or bland. Just right. Family business, great service! This place is great! The food is delicious and they have great healthy options to choose from as well. Their green tacos are tacos in lettuce wraps instead of tortillas (even though they do have handmade tortillas). I've had both the chicken and asada green tacos and I am hooked! They were beyond my expectations-- trust me, you need to try! I can't say enough about how great the people are here as well. They are family owned and are beyond nice and helpful. They even offered to stay open later to take my order once when I called asking if they were still open. The boy at the front, whom is the owner's son, was so friendly and helpful giving me lots of info about their menu the first time I came in. I would highly recommend this place! Give it a try, you won't regret it. Btw, this place used to be Casa Mendoza a while ago and some of the pics from that restaurant are still up which may be confusing to some people. I like their pork pozole but DO NOT buy their tacos. To this day, i still called their tacos," The GOLD tacos." Super expensive, they said it's because they use a special beef. The breakfast burrito is awesome! The tortilla is thin and you don't get that huge bite of tortilla at each end of the burrito. I had the bacon burrito and easy on the potatoes. Not good Mexican food and I am Mexican. The meat was dry and most importantly it was not carne ranchera. It was not even diesmillo. It was some cheap dry tough meat cut. The tortilla for the tacos was too soft and moist. It was not handmade out of yellow or white maiz. The beans were Peruvian and not pinto. The Spanish rice tasted like it was a day old. The pastor taco was dry and the flavor was dull. Missing the herbs and pineapple that usually make this taco special. I don't recommend the chilaquilles, taco al pastor, or carne asada burrito.
