I called several electricians and Sergio was the only one who could get to my house within a couple of hours in Katy, Texas. Everyone else needed anywhere from 48 hours to a week and they ALL quoted anywhere from $50-$250 MORE than Green Star Electric just to come to my home! I really thought I had a potential fire hazard on my hands because the handyman I hired a few days before had installed an exhaust fan in my bathroom but he didn't follow procedures to code from what I could tell. He didn't use a junction box in the attic and he pieced together 3 wires using wing nuts to feed into an existing light switch. I don't know why he didn't just run one continuous wire! When Sergio got to my house and saw this convoluted mess, he was confused as to why ANYONE would hook something up in this manner. He had to take out all that jumbled mess, rewire it properly, connect it to a closed junction box, and use the proper dual switch so that the fan wouldn't automatically come on whenever you turned on the light. He did have to charge more than the original price quoted to come out to the house, but I totally understood and was glad to have him there to do the job right. The final charge was reasonable for all the work he had to do and I will have more work for him in the near future to install some electrical outlets and recessed lights. The lights in my guest bathroom and the hallway outside of it were not working. I tried looking at the circuit breakers and flipping them on and off and it didn't fix the issue. I contacted so many companies who wanted to charge to send someone out for a quote, were unresponsive, or unavailable in my time frame. I decided to get a free quote from Green Star Electric along with another company. The technician who showed up was punctual, professional, and personable. I showed him where the issues were. It took him about 5 minutes to figure out that I just needed to replace the lightbulbs! I told him that I had never seen all the lightbulbs not work all at the same time in the same set of lights, which is why I thought it might be an electrical wire issue. He explained that sometimes power surges can fry the bulbs of a whole set of lights. I thanked him profusely. The quote was truly free and he didn't try to upsell me or anything.
