In the middle of the valley are numerous green areas to explore. The Green River gives life to all around it, and this reserve, named for nearby River, is a nesting ground for numerous species. Located near a KOA campground and the Amazon Fulfillment Center, you would probably be surprised that such well kept natural areas are here.
The area is mostly kept away from humans, which is kind of a shame. I'm sure the best way to experience nature here is to volunteer so you can get off the path with an experienced guide. There are plenty of prey animals here too, so be on the lookout for hawks and eagles swooping down for a meal. I've seen coyotes on the trail that runs adjacent, but never inside this park. They apparently have good security here, but I would never know because it is almost always peaceful when I visit. There is a large nearby park for grilling and living up the human life, but if you want to get back to nature, cross the street and enjoy this pocket of wildlife. read more
