The photo speaks for itself. I really appreciate how the salon truly works with what you want. They texted me the day before to send me some sample shots of what I wanted, and if it's your first appointment, they have you come in to see the salon and meet your stylist beforehand. I'm also super excited for their new downtown location opening likely in early August! I feel like the price is very fair considering the time they put in to make your hair look great. This will be my last response to the owner of the salon. 1) Yes, I was 15 minutes late and I called ahead of time to notify the salon. It was snowing heavily and people were driving slower than usual. They could have told me to reschedule when I called them, but they didn't. But this is besides the point, as it has nothing to do with how my hair ended up. 2) Yes, I was indecisive and I had expected the stylist to guide me as to what color would best suit me. Renee said either would look good and did NOT mention that the color I wanted would be unrealistic. Yes, she said that it may take several sessions because she doesn't want to completely damage my hair and I agreed to that. At no point did she say that the perm I had would negatively affect the coloring. If she had told me, I wouldn't have gone ahead with the color. Or if she had properly advised me to go with a darker color, I would have agreed. In the end, she said both the pictures I showed here would look nice on me and failed to offer guidance as to what would be best. Moreover, there was no mention of a second coloring session at the end of our appointment and the receptionist only asked if I would like to schedule a toner application in 6-8 weeks time. I assumed then that the coloring process was done. 3) Yes, she offered to "fix" my hair and it would only be a toner application. Seeing how the color faded in my hair after 1 wash, I had little confidence that her "fix" would last any longer than that. And no, she did not offer it multiple times and nor did I demand a refund repeatedly. I have the text messages to back that up. 4) No, I did not roll my hair in grease and deliberately take horrible looking pictures just to prove a point. In fact, the middle picture was just after I took a shower. 5) I find it odd that the owner of this salon is trying to paint me as an unreasonable and difficult customer instead of actually explaining why my hair looked the way it did. I even gave this salon a 5 star review during my first visit here for a haircut some time ago so I have little reason to bash this place. read more

Breanna was my stylist and she was absolutely fabulous. She was so easy to converse with and I left feeling like I had been chatting with a friend. As someone who moved here recently from Chicago, it was nerve-wracking to choose a new stylist. Breanna's extensive experience in NYC made me feel more than comfortable after speaking with her. I was scheduled for a face framing highlight and she did an amazing job melting the baby highlights and face framing highlights into my balayage. I could not recommend her more. I reached out to Renee, the business owner several days ago to provide her with the opportunity to address my concerns, however, I have not heard back. Hands down, this was the worst experience I have had in terms on customer care and service. Amanda, the receptionist, should avoid jobs that involve customer interactions because she has zero compassion and has a severe case of short term memory loss. She is unprofessional, extremely rude, disrespectful and insincere. The price on the website is meaningless and there is a huge disconnect between what the website says and what Amanda confirmed on the phone vs. what Mia quoted when I arrived. I strongly suggest avoiding Amanda or interacting with her - she deserves to be fired. Mia is extremely cut-and-dry and has no finesse. It seems like she hates her job. She made the entire experience from start to finish painful and awkward. She has a hard time understanding the vision despite sharing several photos with her before arriving and spending a good amount of time explaining what I wanted during the pre-service consultation. I have not interacted with Renee but she clearly doesn't care enough about her business to address the issue. I messaged her on Instagram and Facebook. The only person at this establishment that knows how to make a client feel warm and welcomed is Eileen. She is really sweet and deserves recognition. Bottom line is that there are so many other local businesses that do an excellent job of cut, color and customer service and don't cheat you of what you pay for or are willing to pay for- I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

I've waited to write this review until I had gone back a number of times for a haircut, to make absolutely sure that I was writing an accurately glowing review. I moved over to the west side of town over five years ago, but have been driving back east for a haircut this whole time. I finally decided that I needed to find a new salon closer to home. Since I don't color my now-gray hair, a super-cool haircut is very important to me! Since it is short, style is everything. Renee has been cutting my hair, and I could not be more pleased. She listens very carefully, takes a close look to see how your prior haircut worked / grew out, and just has a great eye. I recommend her highly and if you have difficult hair, she is up to the task! I originally met with Gabby first who gave me a really beautiful cut but when I went home and styled it myself it wasn't what I envisioned. After calling the salon and speaking with them we had a pleasant conversation and I was offered an adjustment by Breanna the following day. Breanna really understood my curls and my vision for them when straightened and added the finishing touches I was looking for. I walked out with a gorgeous cut with face framing and a bouncy blowout. I've been a fan of Eddy's on Coventry for the past 7-8 years, however, after moving away from the east side, I was disappointed I couldn't find another hair salon of equal caliber. I tried all the salons in Ohio City.. but still nothing was quite like Eddy's. I was so excited to learn they opened a west side location and recently frequented this salon! Located in Lakewood, across from Lucky's, this salon is in a great location. You can park at the Starbucks parking lot, or I just parked across the street in the neighborhood right next to Lucky's. I mean, what's not to like- you can get your haircut and then go to Lucky's for your lunch (or grocery run). It's so convenient! I was fortunate to get my hair cut by Renee, and she did an amazing job. It's so hard to find people who can cut thick Asian hair like my own... somehow it always ends up weirdly cut or growing out all uneven, but Renee did a great job and she did it so fast. And 8 weeks later, my hair still looks great- that's how I know it was a great cut! The staff was nice, the salon was nice, and it was a breeze to make an appointment. I then wait across the street to Lucky's and got a $5 sushi lunch. It was a win-win, in my opinion! I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff are at Eddy's on Clifton. My wife and I moved here last year and she was struggling to find a new stylist. Around Christmas time I was getting my haircut at Eddy's Barbershop and my barber told me about their new sister salon that recently opened next door. I decided to check it out and maybe get some hair products as stocking stuffers for my wife. The design inside was really charming and the owner Renee was very welcoming and sweet. She took the time to ask about my wife's hair, how she likes to wear it, and even looked at some pictures on my phone before recommending a product that would work well on her hair. I told my wife she should check it out and after looking at a few reviews online she made an appointment for later that week. When my wife came home after her appointment and she was beaming. She was so so happy with her new style and color and just could not stop talking about how amazing Renee and her staff are. She says it's absolutely the best haircut of her life! Booked for a partial and hair cut, completed a virtual hair consultation, appointment was made for partial color and cut duration 2 hours 45 minutes. I arrived to my appointment and was informed by the stylist that she didn't have enough time to complete a partial color and I agreed to move forward to getting my hair cut. I paid for service and left the salon. I was emailed an itemized receipt and was charged for extra time on my hair cut yet I originally booked for a partial coloring and hair cut. The stylist being Brooklyn and speaking with Josh whom scheduled the appointment and discussing the above, Josh informed that the virtual consult backfired on the salon and the salon is not willing to reimburse for the extra time charged yet I took time off work arranged child care with the expectation of getting what I booked for being told no and charged extra. It may be a more eclectic vibe but you're definitely still paying the big salon price. Eddy's has a wash/cut and style for about $70 after you've tipped (so like 56 ish without tip). Abby is the only person in the world I let cut my hair, but maybe I should keep that on the DL, she's booked up enough as it is! If you can squeeze into her schedule, she's worth every penny. I cannot say enough good things about Abby - I recommend her to everyone who will listen...she is sweet as pie and so talented and professional - she gives great input, won't stop until you're satisfied and is honest with you regarding your expectations. Years ago I came to Abby to fix a bad almost black to blonde (more like yellow) ombre I received from a larger "high end" salon in the Cleveland area - she fixed it beautifully and I've been a loyal customer ever since! I drive an hour one way for her services - I won't trust anyone else. My cuts are always perfect, but her color is to DYE for! (get it? haha) Over the years Abby has taken my hair from dark brunette to vibrant red to caramel and back a few times. Bayalage, highlights, overall color - Every visit I'm looking for a change - I am always elated with the results. I have very short hair, and had a cut with Meredith for $58 before I booked this appointment to have a cut a partial highlight. When I went for the cut and partial highlight, I was stunned when my bill came to $177! WTF????? I called, and talked to the owner, who then talked to Meredith, since, I understand, each stylist sets their own prices. Was told the owner would talk to M. and then call me back.....just got the call.....yep, you paid $177 plus tip for your service. We can do nothing about it. Heads up for those of you thinking on having service done at Eddy's on Clifton. Ask what you are paying for!! For my 3 inch hair, I paid $58 for a cut and $119 for a partial highlight. Do the math. All of the staff seemed to be friendly. Renee is super nice and make you feel very comfortable. She is highly skilled hair stylist.
