    That color tho...

I will echo the sentiment of so many other reviewers: cute, but expensive!! No, really, it's that I-understand-you-need-to-pay-rent-but-that's-ridiculously-expensive kind of cute and expensive. Visible prices were only on a handful of items, some I asked for, like a small cup of soup: I'm sure it's good, but at $8 something - 'no thank you'. The prices are steeper than Midtown Manhattan during lunch rush hour! My (small) $10 juice, although delicious - and that's where all of these 3 stars come into play - was fresh, relatively "custom" made to my preference, and the color was amazing. But the stars end there. Sure, the cup was PET 2, which is recyclable plastic, but the plastic straw?... Come on super-healthy-super-expensive-healthfoody-lifestyle shop! Jump on the bandwagon already.

I don't think I can come back here. I used to come here very often last year but haven't been in a while. Today was my first time back and I ordered my usual without second thought. The price was an outrage. With tax I paid $10.16 for a SMALL smoothie. I think that is outrageous especially if they are trying to keep their customers. Someone update me if they drop their prices for me to return. Picture of drink in picture.

This first review comes on the 5 month anniversary of Green Nectar Juicery's opening on September 23, 2013. And I'm surprised I'm the first to review after reading an article about them on NJ.com and after being informed by Tara (the owner) that they were featured in The Star Ledger as well. I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably the last person on Earth who cares about eating healthy. I consume whatever I want and work it off at the gym later. But this place intrigued me. After having some difficulty finding the place due to the lack of sign above the business, Tara greeted us and broke down the concept of her business: keep it healthy, keep it simple, grab and go. All the juices are made and bottled on site and have about a 3 day shelf life (before any nutrients are lost). Actually, I think "enzymes" was the word she used, but it's not like I know the difference. She sounded convincing, so I suppose that's all that matters. A lot of her customers, she said, are hung over people looking for a cure. They have 10 different kinds of juices and 2 different kinds of milks. The prices are as follows: 12 oz juice: $9 16 oz juice: $11.50 12 oz milk: $10 16 oz milk: $12.50 I know. I thought the prices were a little outrageous myself, but when I saw all the ingredients and inevitable labor that must go into these drinks, I sympathized. Of the 12 different total selections from the menu, only about 4 were available: The "Almond Mylk" (that's not a typo), the "Try Citrus," "Beet Poetry," and "Go Tropical." We opted for the "Beet Poetry," which contained beet, carrot, apple, kale, spinach, cucumber, parsley, lemon and ginger, and the "Go Tropical," containing kale, spinach, romaine, cucumber, parsley, pineapple and ginger. Both were delicious, though the "Go Tropical" was a little warmer than I would have liked. Apparently, that's by design for some scientific reason, but I'm not even going to pretend to explain why. Aside from the juices and "mylks," they have an assortment of healthy snacks like muffins, brownies, granola, kale chips and pumpkin seeds. Tara also supports a Newark-based beekeeper by selling his honey and related products on site. All credit cards accepted. Street parking. Limited seating.

Nice staff. Decent Juice. As I was waiting for my order I saw two people purchase the Zucchini soup, so I'll be going back to try! Salads are made in house, sell out quickly. The place is a little pricey.

great place to sit and do some hw or lunch date!

It was very clean and fresh inside and everyone was friendly. I tried shakshuka for the first time, and I loved it! It wasn't too heavy, and the sauce was super flavorful sauce. I enjoyed seeing all of the mediterranean-inspired options they had on the menu. I also ordered a plain iced latte which was great! The espresso was very smooth. We went around 9 am on a Monday, so it wasn't super busy, but I've seen this place packed! The lunch menu also seemed super interesting so, so I would love to come back to try more!

My most consistent go-to is the Matcha Latte with Rosewater Simple Syrup. Sometimes you can actually taste the rose and it complements the matcha nicely. One thing I will say for the women, if you are into cycle syncing, there are so many options here for us. Fave foods to order are the cauliflower pita & lentil soup. The salad is quite filling and fresh. Actually all of their food is fresh. I like the falafel bowl although it can be a little dry. I typically drizzle olive oil on it. The tahini is good, but it's only enough for the falafels. The falafels are good as well; authentically flavorful. Def try the meze options. I've never ordered something and didn't get it a second or third time. I eat predominantly vegan and this spot gives me options galore like I'm back in NYC. Amazing for dine-in and the best at bagging your takeout/delivery. Stapling the liquids inside a smaller bag to stay in place in the larger bag? The most thoughtful packing I've come across honestly. Would love to see them add a vegan pastry or few. I appreciate that they do digital rewards now as well

It was pretty empty and I got a carriage full of food quickly. First compliant -- Young guy working in the store, pushing a cart around, almost hit me. He didn't say excuse me ... No, I did. I apologized to myself on his behalf. LOL! Second complaint -- Nasty cashier. There was NO ONE at Cashier #3, so I approached. The woman let out a sigh. I said, "Oh, you're busy" (she wasn't) and I went to go somewhere else. She insisted I go there, yet the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. THEN the lady behind me, the cashier was very pleasant too. I think that qualifies as being rude and judging someone without knowing them? I think so. WEIRDO. Third complaint -- The green onions were rancid! The color did look off, and I tasted them -- disgusting! I can't stand this store. It's a waste of a beautiful store because the workers here are obviously incompetent. They can't get rid of groceries that are bad. No one here likes to work. This is the worst Whole Foods in the state of New Jersey. Gross!

The best cakes here are the tiramisu and the tres leches. They do have cheaper than average organic milk (but check the expiry dates) and they have a good food bar (mac & cheese and the wings are a good choice usually, and the curry usually smells delicious) but at $12/lb, it can be expensive if you aren't careful.
