Capital Well Clean Water Center - Capital Well Drilling rig

    Capital Well Clean Water Center

Over the course of several months in 2025 and early 2026, I repeatedly contacted Capital Well requesting service to inspect the well system, measure water levels, and repair a well cap. My goal in making these requests was to proactively prevent system problems. Despite numerous attempts to schedule service, the company did not respond to my requests. Eventually, my well system failed when the well pipe froze. When I contacted Capital Well again, they indicated that a "system glitch" had prevented them from receiving my earlier service requests. They subsequently came to the property to replace the well pump. During installation of the replacement pump, their technician informed me that a piece of shale likely slipped during the installation process, preventing the pump from being lowered further into the well. As a result, the pump could only be installed at approximately 160 feet, leaving more than 250 feet of the original well depth unusable. This effectively eliminated access to the majority of the well's water column and significantly compromised the reliability of my household water supply. Even the owner of the company, publicly stated that a well pump at my depth has had this year in New Hampshire. They are trying to claim "act of God" language. When I raised concerns about this outcome, the company informed me that they would not accept responsibility for the obstruction and advised me to simply continue using water normally. No remediation plan was offered. The situation has created significant financial hardship. I was required to take out a second mortgage to cover the cost of the pump replacement and related work already performed. they breached their contract multiple times and there are ethical standards that have been broken. They wanted to charge me $13,000 to repair what they broke taking zero responsibility for their workmanship. I have requested documentation multiple times with no response. I have requested formal mediation multiple times with no response. I have file a claim insurance with no response. I had offered to speak to the president directly to work through this, but became aggressive and rude. Once I filed a complaint. This company is very much unprofessional And overpriced.

This was especially true during the pandemic of 2020 when our system required repair and maintenance. Kim, the office manager arranged for their top engineer Lorrie to call us and talk us through resolving restricted water flow at the house and too perform the quarterly maintenance of our Culligan Water Softening and Filtration System Lorrie was caring and compassionate to our plight and very patent in her instruction. She made an extraordinary effort to get this surprisingly complicated feat accomplished, including using humor to get us through the toughest parts of the repair that was an arduous soaking-wet effort. Lorrie is the most competent, knowledgeable, exemplary professional setting the standard for best-of-the-best quality customer service. Our family is proud to recommend Culligan Water Technologies & Conditioning of The Green Mountain for all your water treatment and filtering needs.

If you are considering Culligan Water, I strongly urge you to reconsider. My husband and I both work full-time and, like most people, value our time off. We are currently 20 weeks pregnant and wanted to address our hard water issues before our baby arrives. We understood this would be a significant investment and have spent years saving what most middle-class families would consider a large amount of money to fix this issue. From the very beginning, our experience was frustrating. When we first called, the receptionist struggled to locate our address, which extended the call unnecessarily. While not a major issue on its own, it set the tone. Things quickly went downhill after that. We were contacted by the water specialist, Diane, to confirm our appointment. At the time, I was checking out at a store and handed the phone to my husband. Diane was immediately rude to him, questioning why I had passed the phone and cutting him off when he tried to explain. She then informed us -- immediately after we had just scheduled -- that she needed to reschedule due to her own doctor's appointment. While we tried to be understanding, it raised concerns about internal organization. We rescheduled for March 25 between 10:00-10:30 AM. The day before the appointment, Diane called again asking for directions -- something we had already explained to the company. During this call, she stated, "If I can't figure out where you live, I'm not going to waste my time coming out there," which was incredibly unprofessional. I confirmed the appointment time again, and she reiterated the 10:00-10:30 AM window. The following morning, we were woken up by aggressive knocking at our door. It was 9:08 AM -- nearly an hour before the scheduled appointment. When I answered the door, still in pajamas, Diane insisted multiple times that I was wrong and that the appointment was at 9:00 AM. I showed her the official confirmation email from Culligan stating the correct time, yet she continued to argue and instead referenced her personal phone calendar as proof. At no point did she acknowledge her mistake or apologize. During this interaction, I became physically ill due to my pregnancy. While I was in the bathroom, Diane commented to my husband that it "made sense" why I was "grouchy." This was not only inappropriate but completely unacceptable. She then escalated the situation further by calling her General Manager and putting my husband on the spot to voice a complaint -- something we never asked for. She even misrepresented the situation to the manager, attempting to blame the receptionist instead of taking responsibility herself. To make matters worse, after all of this, we were quoted between $12,000 and $24,100 for a system -- for a 700 sq. ft. home with one small bathroom. We were provided no written quote, no documentation, and no water test results -- only a verbal estimate. When I later contacted the company to request our water test results, my request was routed back to Diane, who told us that any communication had to go directly through her. After everything that had already happened, this was incredibly frustrating and inappropriate. This entire experience -- from start to finish -- was unprofessional, disorganized, and frankly disrespectful. We went into this process prepared to make a serious investment in our home and were met with poor communication, lack of accountability, and unacceptable behavior. I rarely say this, but I would strongly advise others not to waste their time with this company.

During the quoting and installation process, they were everything you hope for--consultative, educational, and professional. Since then, their ongoing service has remained top-notch--prompt, proactive, friendly, and helpful. About a year and a half ago, I started noticing a sulfur odor in my water. I called in, and my sales rep personally guided me through how to shock the well and troubleshoot the issue. He also said, "If this doesn't solve it, I'll help you upgrade the system." He followed up a few times after that to check in--no pressure, just care. Fast forward to today: I decided it was time for the upgrade. I sent an email. Within 20 minutes, the same rep was on the phone. He remembered me. Within an hour, he was at my house. He explained what was happening, walked me through the solution, provided a quote, explained next steps, and even scheduled a follow-up to ensure satisfaction. That's what earns repeat business. I won't shop around. That's what earns trust. That's what earns referrals shouted from rooftops. This is the kind of experience we should all strive to deliver--and it's a reminder that great sales aren't flashy. They're grounded in reliability, responsiveness, and relationships.
