Today I visited the Mattress firm in Berlin. I was planning on purchasing a new mattress, box…read morespring and frame for my 17 year old brother. Firstly, the store was clean and welcoming. Secondly, Shelly, the customer service rep, was VERY helpful. I explained that I would like to apply for financing, which was quick and easy. She then assisted us, asking my brother what type of mattress he would like, showing him how to test the mattresses and what to look for for comfort. I also told Shelly what my price range was and she helped point us in the direction of the mattresses in that range. She told me about a mattress cover and how it would protect the mattress and keep the longevity. She assisted in setting up delivery and also helped tell me what my monthly payments would be. All in all, we were in and out, in less than 45 minutes. This was a very easy and great experience. Shelly made the whole thing and as far as customer service goes, the 5 stars goes to her!! One comment I do have, the website advertises same day delivery. When I mentioned it to Shelly, she explained that only Connecticut receives same day delivery because that's where the warehouse is. I wish the website said that. My brothers box spring broke and he is unable to sleep on it right now (I'm visiting from Boston and also did not have a place to sleep because of it. So same delivery would have been most convenient, but not necessary).

The time came and went so we called the store and were given a later time in the day. I went back to work for a few hours then came back to be there in time for the new delivery window. Again that time came and went. Checking the tracking on the website I saw the truck was heading in the wrong direction. I called the store and was told the truck had just left the store and should arrive shortly. I pointed out that they were on the the interstate headed towards Burlington. The man I was speaking to said "maybe they just stopped at McDonald's". I pointed out they were heading out of the area and he said he would make a call to find out what was going on. An hour later having heard nothing I called the store and was told the driver was headed back to CT claiming they had called us twice and getting no answer canceled the delivery. They did not call. This was an outright lie. The guy working at the store was also lying with his claim that the truck was headed our was headed our way. The truck had only one reason to stop at the store, to drop off the undelivered mattress. Our little friend at the Berlin store knew what was up and chose to lie to us. We canceled the order and will never do business with Mattress Firm again. There are few things I have less use for than liars.

Thankfully, the husband and wife team that own Vermont Mattress and Bedroom do neither. I bought a guest bed from them fall 2020 and was highly pleased with the entire experience. I had shown up on my birthday, same day I'd closed on my new home, not knowing they were closed and the owner Theresa just happened to be there saw me looking in the window, and invited me in to look around. They have a vast array of the most well known and top brand names in mattresses and boxsprings. They Las carry high end bedroom furniture at great values. Theresa is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to talk to and work with. I ordered the perfect guest bedroom bed and frame and got a great deal. The bed was delivered for free within a week or so. You can do a 0% credit card for 24-36 months with Synchronicity through the store if you have a need.
