The negative reviews I've seen do not reflect what I have witnessed at Davie Boarding Stable. For over a year, I prayed for God to lead my daughter to a safe, peaceful, and loving home for her horse. Yesterday, He answered that prayer. From the moment we arrived, we felt an incredible sense of peace and knew this was where we were meant to be. We were welcomed with genuine love and kindness and professionalism, taking the time to answer every question and make us feel at home. The facility is immaculate, well-managed, and clearly operated with great care and dedication. The horses are so loved, well-fed, and exceptionally cared for. Having managed barns myself and visited many facilities over the years, I can honestly say this is one of the finest stables I have ever seen. We feel truly blessed and grateful that God led us here. Open biohazard container present, dangerous. Open trash can without lid present, also dangerous. Glade lavender plug-in on, often harmful, especially for cats. No one washed their hands in front of me, but this does not necessarily mean that they are not doing it when they should, as there are several other rooms in the facility and I did not have two pets with me. Attitude towards humans: 8/10 - Overall, personally, I got very good service. I was not greeted upon arrival or for several minutes, despite no other person being in front of them. They answered all my questions, and were attentive. I observed a significantly different attitude towards another woman, but I am not aware of the entire conversation, so there is no telling why there was a different attitude, and perhaps there was a reason. I had a very appropriate and warm goodbye from every single staff member. Attitude towards pets: 8/10 - once again, personally, my baby received amazing treatment. Overall used caring hands, petting, and a nice tone. I overheard a different situation towards another pet who was in distress. The staff member did not use a calming voice or reassuring tone towards the very clearly desperate dog. However, I was not present in the room, and therefore cannot speak to the level of distress the staff member herself might have been experiencing, or the handling of the animal.

Recently, one of my pups was experiencing bloody diarrhea and vomiting. Despite being fully booked, they were kind enough to squeeze me in. After receiving an IV injection and being prescribed two medications along with a food additive, my dog showed immediate improvement. What I truly appreciate is that they don't try to upsell or recommend unnecessary treatments--they genuinely care about your pet's well-being. I highly recommend this place. A big thank you to the doctor for her expert care and for prescribing only what was truly needed. Thank you, you guys are the best.

But today, I was deeply disappointed by how my sick dog and I were treated. I took my dog Hunter with severe diarrhea and despite the urgency and the decades of loyalty I've shown, I was told they wouldn't see him because they "don't take emergencies." There was no effort to assess the situation, no compassion, and just a cold referral elsewhere. I'm sure it didn't go past beyond the reception desk, because I wasn't able to talk to any vet, but it was still disappointing in a moment of stress and worry. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I was asking for help from a place I thought cared about its patients. I understand policies and limitations, but to turn away a sick animal, who is already there, especially one they've treated for years, is unacceptable. Emergencies don't happen on a schedule. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to even try to help was shocking. Over the last 20 years, we've trusted them with the care of every animal we've had--spending THOUSANDS of dollars on routine visits, medications, surgeries, and treatments. We never hesitated because we believed they truly cared. After two decades, I will no longer be bringing my three pups here. They've never had a problem taking my money but if you're looking for a place that will be there when it really matters--this isn't it.

There are no hazards in the entrance, the ranch provides volunteers with water but we all bring our own food. Taking care of 60+ animals, as anyone can imagine, is quite expensive and this charitable organization focuses all of their funding on ensuring the animals are fed, sheltered, physically cared for including teeth cleaning, shodding, and regular medical care. All volunteers are welcome and work in whatever capacity they are comfortable with. Please come out and see for yourself. You will be so glad you did!
