Curry puffs

Went to this place tonight and first ordered the appetizer of curry puffs. Although small in size it was crispy and straight out of the fryer and had a lovely lemongrass flavour that lingered in my mouth. The papaya salad was plentiful and fresh and had basil in it which gave it a nice accent. My green curry chicken was delicious and had a lot of fresh vegetables. My partner had the Basil beef and really enjoyed it. Our dessert chosen was the mango sticky rice. It came out fresh with steam rising from it ! The mangoes were sweet and we loved the sprinkled peanuts and and warm coconut sauce. Overall, a very good experience and everything was very fresh. Spoke with the owner and she stated she had recently taken over the restaurant (from another family member). She was very courteous and attentive to us. What a enjoyable dinner. Will certainly go back when we visit Collingwood again.

Yellow curry was delicious!

I came to Green Mango after hearing my dad say that they had amazing food. Maybe my expectations were too high after hearing my dad rave about this place or maybe they were having an off day but I wasn't all that impressed. I ordered: mango salad, fresh shrimp rolls, chicken yellow curry, spicy chicken pad Thai and the basil beef dish The mango was not ready yet so it was crunchy and tasteless. There also wasn't enough dressing on the salad. I assumed the fresh rolls would have rice noodles in it but it was stuffed with mango instead. Had the mangoes been ripe, I bet it would've been really tasty). The chicken yellow curry and pad Thai were prbly my most favourite dishes. Savoury and good texture. Atmosphere: kind of awkward because there was no music and we could hear the kitchen staff yelling in Chinese at the back (doesn't make for very good ambience). We went in at 6pm on a Saturday and it was pretty empty (just me, my aunt and uncle, as well as one gentleman eating by himself). Service: The Asian lady who served us was very nice and brought water right away. She kept the water topped up all evening. The other Caucasian server seemed miffed whenever we asked for items so that put a damper on our experience. Overall, I prbly wouldn't come back here again, especially when there is another Thai restaurant near the North ski lifts at the village (that's where we were staying). At the end of the meal, I felt unsatisfied but at least half the dishes were very tasty! I think I had a mediocre experience because of the mangos and the one waitress so your own experience depends on what day you decide to visit.

Interior

Was a bit confused coming here. Yelp had negative reviews and Trip Advisor had positive reviews. We gave it a shot and it was quite nice. The good: - very nice interior decor - very clean - very quick service - good price The bad: - Chinese owners (vs. Thai) - Not the best service, but ok - Sone dishes are a bit bland In the short time we were here, they also had a lot of takeout orders come in for pick up. Overall, a good experience. Would come back.

Very bland food. Had the Pad Thai - was too salty, and probably the worst dish I had in a while. Just not worth it

Best thai restaurant ever. It was one of my lucky days. You should try chicken noodle soup and spicy beef coco.

Takeout orders have priority over the restaurant food. Expect to get no service and poor quality with onions on wverything

It's not suppose to be Chinese or Thai. It;s fusion, so yes, the dishes will be different but they are very tasty. Remember its FUSION.

Beautifully presented. Highly recommended. Take it from a Korean, Taiwanese family. This is our "Pho" place. From Angus all the way to Barrie to Collingwood, we've tried every Pho place and this is definitely our spot. If you don't like the taste of these dishes, it's safe to say that maybe Thai & Viet food isn't for you because they are very good.

Let me start off with what I liked about the place. I find that the food portions were very…read moregenerous. They don't have the Pho in Small, Medium, or Large sizes like in other Pho places I have been. It came in as a standard size which is more than satisfactory for an individual to finish. Orders of the Pad Thai dishes also came out in large servings. Our waiter was also visibly active and can be seen trying his best to provide his best service. What I did not like was the actually customer service we received. Communication alone was a little troublesome. We had a request to see if it is possible to have a little more veggies or greens added to our Pad Thai order. There was some mix up and it did not look like the waiter properly understood our request. Our waiter also appeared to always be in a hurry. After getting seated and not even having enough time to look over the menu, the waiter came to ask what our orders were. We responded that we needed some more time. He also was quick to try to remove any of the dishware from our table. It was perfectly understandable to ask to remove some of the appetizer and side dish plates, but it may debatable to instantly remove the main plate. My companion who finished his meal early left to use the washroom when the waiter came to clear his plate without having requested permission. My companion then came back to an empty spot while me and 1 other was left still eating midway through our meal. I believe there are some societal norms that are universal and should transcend cultures such as never assuming, and always asking first. Another example of this was when the waiter came with a pitcher of water and asked who wants a refill. Only one of us gestured back showing a need to refill the glass. The waiter went on and poured water, then just went on to the next person and was about to start filling in the glass. This guest diner did not actually need his glass refilled and told the waiter the same. There are a lot more of these customer service and restaurant management practices that I observed can be corrected and improved. They already have a good variety of food offered in their menu and their serving sizes are also not bad so improving on their shortcomings will make them an establishment worth recommending.
