I've been going to Katmani's with my family for 15 years. After spending several months on and off in Thailand, Thai food became my favorite. Katmani is an award winning chef from Bangkok and in my travels across Canada, I believe her restaurant is the best there is. With her fresh ingredients, Katmani creates the most amazing and flavourful dishes. My favourites are crab Rangoon, basil chicken, spicy beef salad, mango chicken, and any of the curry! I highly recommend this restaurant and if you haven't been there make sure you go soon. Katmanis future is in question as she lost her husband two months ago. By far the best Thai food I've ever had and continue to go back as a regular customer. The Basil Chicken is so good and the flavours are just incredible. oh and the Crab Rangoon is SO yummy. This is as authentic as one can get outside of Thailand and the owners are beautiful people. The portions are really decent and the owners clearly work very hard to maintain such high standards when it comes to their food and service. Rearly would you ever find really great Thai food outside of the actual destination having said that, I won't be returning. The food was simply not good! The little restaurant is very clea, staff was very ok. I dined there was lunch I was the only patron there. I ordered the mango salad and Thai spring rolls. The salad was filled with lettuce and what tasted as a repackaged tamarind sauce. The spring rolls just were not yummy, and a little too brown and did not taste fresh. read more

I decided to eat at Katmanis as I was missing Thailand and wanted something Asian. I was there for lunch and the prices for a soup and main was roughly 12. This is an excellent deal. The service was a bit grumpy and the menu was confusing as the Pad Thai didn't have a price. The Green curry was overly sweet and lacked spice. There was a good amount of chicken. I am unsure as to why they use some soggy plain white rice when Thai rice is a lot better. For Wasaga it does the trick, but this is not authentic Thai food. I should have asked for Thai rice and Thai style, though I don't think it would have made a difference. read more

3.5 stars Why? The food is decent for the Wasaga area. The staff are real thai is that matters to you. Ordered the pad thai (chicken) and the papaya salad. The pad thai had a weaker version of the tamarind sauce that most GTA thai restos use. It was decent but the sauce could be more flavorful. The papaya salad was good and it had the right amount of acid and veggies. The server forgot my water until the end of the meal so one star off for that. 1/2 star off for the pad thai sauce. 3.5 stars overall. I would probably skip this resto if I came back to Wasaga though. GTA has much better thai. read more

I have been ordering from Katmanis since they opened. Food was always excellent. It has been some time since I have been there, I always get the Dry Beef Curry and ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. The curry was skimpy on the beef and the Pad Thai was sweet, (specifically asking for no ketchup and street style, meaning authentic , no sugar). There was no lime to cut it. The shrimp were old, funky tasting, spoiled the meal. It was not great the last time I ordered and this time ensures I will not return. read more

This is the worst Thai (if you can even call it Thai) restaurant I have ever been to. The restaurant was empty at dinner time which maybe should have been an indication of the poor service and food to come. Rude owner/hostess. When I asked her if the spice ratings ranged 1-5 or 1-10 she looked at me blankly. I have never been to a Thai place that had no spice levels!! Additionally, she did not even ask us if we wanted anything to drink! We ordered what was pineapple fried rice with chicken, had absolutely no flavor, and mango with rice, which at least had some flavor. I would never go back. Shame is it the only Thai restaurant in lovely Wasaga Beach. read more

This is a great example of how incredible food sometimes isn't enough. I've driven by the restaurant for a couple of years and never considered trying the place because of the ridiculous restaurant name... a Greek Thai restaurant? Really? I now have tried the restaurant a few times and each time the food has been truly incredible, as good as any highly rated Thai restaurants I've been in. The only downside is the awkward and mildly creepy waiter and the even creepier guy sitting behind the cash register. Changing the name to something more appropriate for a Thai restaurant, and hiring friendly local waitstaff would make this a true hidden gem for Wasaga. Until the creepy guys are gone this will be a regular take-out spot for us. read more

We were excited to have Thai after not having it for more than a decade. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. we ordered the shrimp pad thai and the basil chicken. The pad thai came with very little other than 6 shrimps and noodles and 4 chunks of tofu. The sauce was lack lusted and tasted like it was from a can. The basil chicken was tough and dry. Half the vegetables were clearly from a frozen bag. Only the onions and peppers were fresh and the onions were over-cooked. The sauce again was lack lustre. At these prices we expected a wuality meal. We would not have paid more than $7 for each dish. The food was delivered in a timely manner, but came with an unexpected $6 delivery fee for a 2km drive. The delivery person also couldn't do math as $54 + 6 doesn't equal $82 - which was the first attempt. After a correction, the math was $62.... We had enough at this point and just paid it without tip just to be done. We will not be eating there again. read more

Thank goodness this place opened up! I love good Thai takeout and the chef here is amazing. The restaurant inside is simple, pretty cute and cozy, but it doesn't really matter what it looks like because the food is great and the gentleman handling the orders was very pleasant and had a good chat with me about the proposed beach reconstruction. Highly recommend going here if you're at Wasaga and would like some amazing Thai food. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times; the service is always bad but it was exceptionally bad at my most recent visit. The server did not welcome us to the restaurant, in fact, she did not speak to us throughout our entire time there. She placed down menus and walked away only coming back to collect our order. My boyfriend received the wrong order and mine had a hair visible on it. She walked away from the table immediately, even as we called after her. After several minutes we went over to her to request the food be replaced. I showed her the hair on mine and she walked away with my food without a word. She also took my boyfriend's meal (which had been on our table for several minutes) and served it to the customer who had ordered it. I find that disgusting, as she had no idea if he had touched of eaten the food during the time he had it. I was provided with a replacement meal without receiving an appology or explanation. When our meal was finished we brought our concerns about the service and food hygiene to the manager. He was useless, offering no apology or solution. We were required to pay for our meals- needless to say, we will not be returning read more
