I have been trying to get them to come back to the house to replace some of the pavers and to clean and seal the patio for the last two years. Tom has responded to some of our emails and even came to the house to see what work we wanted done. We have asked several times for an estimate and when we can get on their schedule. We have gotten no responses to our requests. The last time we heard from Tom (in September) he said that they couldn't seal the patio when the weather was hot. It's definitely not hot now but we've heard nothing. We are getting the impression that he doesn't really want to do the work. Crazy right. I'll preface this by saying I had a small landscape job (it's a city yard, whadd'ya want??!). A job that I had two landscape architects come by and look at, then completely ghost me. They seemed to think it already looked spectacular even though I kept saying I wanted it completely re-done. Poynter seemed like a pretty large firm but their website said they did small projects so it was worth a try. Sure enough, the phone was answered and he gave me the time of day. I never felt like my job was too small (it was a $5500 job). Every time they came by, it felt like it was important. The plans were thorough, the communication was pretty good. I kept three main trees and a few milkweed plants but everything else was changed out. Part of the job was rebuilding rocks on a water feature. They did a great job making it look so much better. The few things I pointed out that needed fixing at the end, they fixed without an issue. The two laborers were very thorough in their work and very nice. They cleaned up everything. I highly recommend them for small jobs that other companies may shrug off. Not only did they show up but it looks fantastic!

So disappointed in the follow-up for my landscape projects. The nursery stock, when delivered, was…read morebeautiful. The paver patio was installed perfectly, but the follow-up stunk! I had materials replaced in my front and rear yards. In the back they installed 3 tall yews. After a few days 2 of the 3 started leaning. I notified my project manager and salesperson and they asked me to send photos. Also a small plant in the back started coming out of the ground which made me inspect and realize the holes really weren't prepared correctly. Just dug to accomodate the new plant and filled around the sides. That's not how I was told to do it properly years ago. A river rock area in the back was also not contained to the area it was designed to cover and the rock had slid into the yard and adjacent mulch. I notified them on April 12 and finally someone came April 30th. By then there were dead limbs on the yews that they staked. They did not replant the other small plant. And as to the rock issues, "There is nothing on the drawing about any kind of edge getting put in. Even a shovel edge. It is laid according to the drawing you signed." REALLY??? I depended on them to adequetly design the project and paid well for it. On May 1 I send a letter to Adam the owner and no response. As much as I hate to say it, I would avoid this company.

We paid $1600 to have mulch in our front yard, around our pool and a specific area in our woods. We had them come out and walked through each area prior to the bid. They mulched most of our large wooded area including our yard waste pile and the covered many of our ferns and other plants in areas they were not supposed to mulch. They did not mulch our front yard or the pool area. When we contacted them they said they used more mulch than planned when they mulched areas we did not want mulched so they could not mulch the front yard or the pool area unless we paid more.

Chris (Co-Owner) and his team have been fantastic from start-to finish on our landscaping project…read more When we first asked for a bid, I provided some general guidance of what we liked, and that he needed to solve for a drainage issue. That stated, I made clear we wanted HIS ideas, as design is something for which I lack any talent. His design exceeded our expectations, as it expanded on elements that we liked, but added boulder retaining walls and a connected "rock river" to solve for our drainage problem. The plants were suggested based on our ideas, but took into account both sunlight conditions (most of the front yard is shaded due to mature trees), and surrounding area (we back to the woods and have many deer that walk through our property for access). The pricing was very reasonable, even though it went over our initial budget (to be clear, we did not disclose our budget in advance). That stated, the design was so good, we stretched to make it work and are very glad that we did. A few final thoughts: Baxter Gardens crews WORK THEIR TAILS OFF. A group of three arrived daily between 8-9. They took an hour for lunch, and stayed until 4:30 - 5:30 in all for 7 full days. On a few occasions a couple of extra gentlemen came by to assist, for a total of five. Aside from a lunch hour, they literally did not stop working. Every day was hot and humid, and I would have been dead after a few hours. Take care of them. Each day we filled a cooler with waters and Gatorade so they stayed as hydrated as possible. On the second-to-last day, we orders pizzas for everyone's lunch. Lastly, there were no nickel-and-dime extra charges. Taking that to another level, things came up during the project that were additional. Some were suggested by Chris as it would improve the overall appearance, and others I requested. None were too significant in my opinion, but they were additional material, and extra labor. Each time I asked what the additional cost would be, Chris's response was (paraphrasing): "Don't worry about it. I've got some extra materials from another job that we didn't wind up needing, and my guys are here anyway. We've got you covered ". My wife and I could not be more pleased with every aspect of our landscaping project from Baxter Gardens. We will absolutely bring them in on all of landscaping needs in the future. **Note: I will add pictures later, as it's very cloudy at the moment, and they would not do it justice**

The completed project far exceeded my expectations. Jim had great design ideas. Even though it was a smaller project Baxter Gardens made me feel like I really mattered as a customer. Jim was there when the installers arrived to start the project. He was also there in the middle of the process and at the end to make sure I was satisfied with everything. The customer care was outstanding. Additionally, the team that did the installation were also amazing. Such hard workers and so talented! All that were involved have definitely perfected their craft. Baxter Gardens definitely has an exceptional team. I would definitely recommend this company!
