What a cool place! It is a grocer with great organic and natural products, including gluten free. Plus an awesome deli with great sandwiches AND a bar AND a coffee shop with pastries, gluten free included. My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a gluten free lighter option before a spa day. I'm so glad we found Green Grocer. It was packed. Not an empty seat in the place around 12:00 on a Saturday. We did have to circle around for parking as well, but only had to walk a short distance from across the street. I got a drip coffee with blueberry waffle flavor and cream. The coffee was very good. I believe they use Collectivo. The gluten free raspberry financier was even better. It was similar to a Madeline cookie, but larger and raspberry in the center. I would drive back just for the pastry. We also got sandwiches from the deli and two fountain drinks from bar. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. I definitely recommend Green Grocer for sandwiches and coffee, especially if you want to avoid the craziness of downtown Lake Geneva. Groceries are over priced. 15.00 for a half gallon of ice cream! Tried the new roof top bar twice. The view is nice and there is plenty of seating with a small bar. First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town. read more

In the Lake Geneva area for the weekend my cousins and I went to this little grocery and deli for lunch. We decided to try the green veggie and white bean soup which was tasty and then my cousin and I split the Gouda turkey sandwich and Kickin chicken Sandwich. We requested both served warm. I really wanted to like the Gouda turkey sandwich , but didn't really taste the Gouda or the pesto that was supposed to be in it. But thoroughly enjoyed the chicken sandwich. Others in our group had salads which they all enjoyed. They had live entertainment for Saturday lunch so it was a bit loud inside but it was a nice enough that we were able to sit outside. While visiting Williams Bay, we visited the green grocer everyday! I enjoyed a sausage breakfast sandwich, a 4 cheese panini and the kickin' chicken sandwich. I go here ALL the time because it's a great sandwich / salad place and I walk away ALWAYS dissatisfied with the service. The workers make me feel stupid and incompetent. They have laughed at me, screamed at me for simply forgetting my mask in my car (I have no problem wearing a mask I just simply forgot to put it on) and asking for changes to my sandwich after they made it wrong. But have to say paying nearly $10 for a roast beef sandwich to have one of the slices of rye be so stale it was actually hard and hard to eat. The person making the sandwich had to have been able to tell it was hard. We drove 25 minutes home and didn't have it in me to drive back. It's a shame. What can I say about this wonderful establishment that has not already been articulated. What distinguishes a business today aside from its offerings is customer service. The owners or twin sisters I believe run this establishment. They mentioned to me and my wife they were twins because our daughters are twins. They are some of the sweetest people. My wife and I just built a home on the other side of the lake. We ventured out to find places to shop locally. We stopped here at Green Grocer. We met with the staff and ordered food. One of their menu options is a flatbread pizza. I asked if they could make it into a sandwich. Without hesistation said absolutely! The sandwich was amazing! It was the flatbread with goat cheese and artichokes. More of a veggie friendly flatbread. I asked for no artichokes. On a second visit i had the same sandwich again and it was just as delicious as the last time. This time while there, we shopped a little, and bought a few bottles of wine. Next door is a wonderful coffee shop. There is a vibe and ambiance at this grocer that is authentic and a wonderful top notch experience. Cute little store I wanted to check out because I was happy to find a health and eco-conscious place in a small town. They were having a small wine and food tasting when I went, and I wound up finding a new wine I really liked that was quite reasonably priced. They also had a good gluten-free selection of items, some of which I can't even find in Chicago. It isn't a place where you could do all your shopping, but nice place to pick up some extra or special items (wine, or cheese, organice or gf items). Friendly staff. This is my favorite place to shop for whole, organic, gluten-free foods. The ladies are friendly and helpful. They have great soups and wraps. They have a nice mix of meats, cheeses, veggies, fruit, and bulk items. It seems they source locally when they can (e.g., eggs, meats). The staff is nice and most prices are reasonable. This shop is a true treasure here in The Bay. We cannot count all of the times they've saved the day when we've had a houseful of guests by preparing their incredible Cobb Salad and a tray of their desserts including those seven layer bars. Our daughter became a foodie by listening to Green Grocer's cheese recommendations. Their Gouda Bird sandwich never fails. We've found lovely prosecco and sweet gelato, avocado potato chips and homemade soups here. We have to try their pizzas next. The owners are gracious and each employee efficient and knowledgeable and ready to give a recommendation when asked. What a difference from the chain groceries!
