Great little location right off the State street exit into Rockford off the i90. I was craving a…read moresmoothie and I didn't know what Rockford had to offer that wasn't custard or milkshakes. So I stumbled on to this little place. It's another Herbalife joint, but they've got tons of options to choose from. So I went with a cotton candy flavored tea and my classic peanut butter chocolate banana smoothie with extra protein. Can't go wrong with that combo. I can't wait to come back if I'm ever in the area and try our som new flavors since they have so many fun ones! I also got lucky because it was buy one get one half off day! Score!

Friendly staff and lots of smoothie choices. Apparently, the smoothies aren't made with fresh fruit or fresh ingredients. Rather, they use and are an outlet for Herbalife products. We paid about $7-8.00 for each of our smoothies (large). They tasted good, and had nominal calories (about 270 for a large smoothie). If I understood the process correctly, they use flavored Herbalife protein powders and ice for the drink. It seems that Herbalife franchises these smoothie bars around the country. I checked, and we had at least half a dozen near where we live in the Mpls/Hennepin County area. If you want a nutritious, low calorie smoothie with loads of assorted flavor options, do check it out. I had what was called a Coffee Concoction, but it tasted more like a peanut butter concoction than coffee. That was the only drawback.

My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a gluten free lighter option before a spa day. I'm so glad we found Green Grocer. It was packed. Not an empty seat in the place around 12:00 on a Saturday. We did have to circle around for parking as well, but only had to walk a short distance from across the street. I got a drip coffee with blueberry waffle flavor and cream. The coffee was very good. I believe they use Collectivo. The gluten free raspberry financier was even better. It was similar to a Madeline cookie, but larger and raspberry in the center. I would drive back just for the pastry. We also got sandwiches from the deli and two fountain drinks from bar. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. I definitely recommend Green Grocer for sandwiches and coffee, especially if you want to avoid the craziness of downtown Lake Geneva. Seems like the locals know this place is fantastic as it was non stop busy.

First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town.
