Great food, great service, excellent scenery, and very clean atmosphere. The menu isn't big but has great options. No alcoholic beverages, but can bring your own. We love this place for special occasions because it certainly is a very special place. Been to a couple weddings here and it's always a great time!

I do not know where to begin. My husband & I married at the Green Gables in May 2023. I have been wanting to write Green Gables & their staff a review since the day after my wedding and I am speechless. It is so hard for me to put into words how much of a wonderful day we had. As anyone planning a wedding knows, there is a lot of hard work and personalization to put into it. Teresa and her staff really put the "cherry on top" of all of my ideas and wishes. I am a tourist to Jennerstown, we are from LV area. Every second I spend at Green Gables, I feel I am home with my family. Highly recommend Green Gables to anyone that wants a secluded, unplugged time whether you are looking for a romantic get away or a family excursion. Green Gables is a great place to settle for a few nights. The views are beautiful inside the restaurant, the outdoor surroundings, even the accommodations. I have been to Green Gables several times and I have not been disappointed once. I will be headed back again in a few weeks and I know I am going to have the "welcome home" I always experience.

Stopped here last week when on a little leaf viewing.... This place is AWESOME! Old play house and restaurant.... Nostalgic...Place is huge and beautiful inside.... Have a little creek in the back that you can watch while eating your dinner... We had the filet.... The plate was beautiful! They do a great job with presentation..... Taste... It was very good, but not excellent.... Ordered medium but steaks were both overdone... But they were still juicy and still good..... Had dessert as well... The flourless cake... which i thought would be a lava cake... But although again beautifully presented, was just ok... It was more fudge than cake. I will definitely be back to this place for sure! It's great! Just hoping the taste of the food gets a little better... Almost a five, though.

Wonderful meal in a very pretty place!

What a great place in very pretty surroundings! Food was delicious and service excellent.

    Easter Buffet

Worst holiday buffet EVER. We go out for three holidays every year...Easter, Mothers Day, and Thanksgiving...and have been for years. We've been to many holiday buffets and this was by far the worst. The sweet potatos were burned and stone cold, the white potatos were bland and over cooked, the veggies were cooked to mush and floating in liquid, the chicken was too dry to eat, the ham was ok for presliced boneless ham. The only thing on the carving station was overcooked lamb. That was all there was other than a couple of salads. The desserts were mediocre...frozen coconut cream pie, dry chocolate bundts, ok plain cheesecake (probably from Sam's Club), and some bizarre mix of mini marshmallows and chocolate pudding. There was one cake with lemon cream that was pretty good. This is the only holiday buffet I ever left hungry. $39 a person and it truly sucked. We should have gone to Dennys or LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE.

The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. Every style I tried in the flight was good...they obviously put the effort into getting their stuff right. They live up to being called a "craft" brewery. The atmosphere is fantastic. Very nice pavilion to keep out of the weather. They also have some open air tables in a little garden and included a good size fire pit to boot. They have live music from time to time and it looks like they have food available occasionally as well. The bartenders were both super friendly and helpful. I think it was about 25 minutes or so from Deep Creek Maryland. The brewery is located in the owners/main brewers garage. Right next to his house, among a bunch of other houses. If they wouldn't have had a sign we would never had known. Once inside we were greeted and warmly welcomed. I actually thought the man and women (who did indeed turn out to be husband and wife) were the owners. They seemed to take such pride in everything and were so hospitable to everyone that came in, almost like you would expect if going to a loving and doting relative. She popped popcorn for patrons and was handing out bowls. She was full of stories and seemed to really just like working there. Her and her husband filled us in on the brewery and its history. The beers now were surprisingly decent. I got the glimmer of hop comet. They had a winter warmer on tap with like the best name Fra-Gee-Lay, Must be Italian. I can't imagine ever finding myself in this neck of the woods again but I sure would order that beer again if I ever saw it on tap. For the locals this place should definitely be in your rotation.
